I didn't want to do it because I hate blowing smoke especially when it's a dev I get along with quite openly but I will have to give this to Notty and Heavy Five.

I've played games I love, i've played games that are amazing but it isn't often I see a game focus so much on little details that may or may not be important further down the line.

When a 0.1 release has a group of people reply it several times over because we kept missing bits you know that by the end it will be a winner. All actions have consequences, sure you can be the bad guy but push it too far and one of the girls may shoot you. It was an extreme but it was an early example of what could happen if we go too far.

Hands down. This game became my top favourite almost instantly after mere one chapter. That's pretty much unbeatable.

Superb writing, deep characters with unique personalities and motivations, choices that matter, optionality, intriguing story, background lore, beautiful renders, replayability, immersion... I could go on and on.

Truly a masterpiece, for it's everything I've been looking for ever since I popped up here.
You go and pick something else! Heavy Five is the masterpiece I chose.

What game do I consider a masterpiece?

Well, if I had to pick one it would definitely be Epic World by @jimmy5

The game hits you with hyper realistic, well thought out scenarios and you can tell a lot of work went into making the characters as realistic as possible. The story is masterpiece of emotions and it doesn't sugarcoat any parts giving you brutal honesty at times. The gameplay is smooth and if you really think about all the aspects the game offers you can spend hours and hours playing it. Overall it can only truly be described as a masterpiece of a game.

I don't really consider any of the porn games I've played to be masterpieces tbh. Honestly a lot of them are low tier shit effort from a dev hoping to make a quick buck and the ones I would consider passable range from mediocre to decent. I imagine theres something decent out there I just gotta play more porn games. Anything that comes remotely close to being a masterpiece would probably be If Adventure Time was an Anime by Mike Inel. If it was a complete game that had a lot more going for it then it might be able to stand on par with The Witcher 3 but while the game mechanics are solid which is some of the best shit I've seen in years in regards to game mechanics in porn games the game still seems very empty. Another honourable mention would be Goblin Walker by Rusimarudou. Game mechanics are solid once again but fights aren't really that challenging and it quickly gets grindy in an unpleasant way.

Lots of games have great art and sometimes great animations but their game mechanics are often shallow I find. As for story I haven't read anything great but then again I don't have a lot of patience for visual novels in general. I don't feel inclined to play porn rpgm games mostly because they are a pitiful excuse for a game. I don't like walking simulators or boring rpg systems that add nothing new and interesting to the formula. I rather just rip the cg images and be on my way if I want to see the porn so badly. To porn game devs that aren't making a visual novel you should really consider what game mechanics might be fun and test them out. If the foundation is weak the rest of the game will follow.

Until I come across something amazing I have yet to call any porn game a masterpiece.

If we can only choose one game, even if they are different types, I'd choose The Last Sovereign by Sierra Lee. Even though it's an RPGM game, which I think lots of people just write off most due to it being RPGM, the story is genuinely fascinating, and it's one of those games that I would love to see the full version come out, yet at the same time hope that development never stops for it.

A runner-up RPGM game for me would be Harem Collector by Bad Kitty Games. Unlike The Last Sovereign, I feel like HC is a game that not only embraces RPG tropes, but plays with them to unprecedented levels, and even if it's blasphemous, I kinda feel like these two RPGM games contend for the title of being the Nier of their types of games. Just the intro segment where it's revealed that you've saved a ton of money by killing measly things like rats was hilarious to me, and it doesn't hurt that there's tons of side missions that aren't taken too seriously. Overall, a light hearted RPG that plays with RPG tropes.

Finally, in terms of polished games from big devs, I'd say (and I don't know if this is cheating a bit) the Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! series from MinatoSoft (un-fucking-surprisingly what with my profile pic). Unlike most VNs where the MC is either a clueless and dense-as-steel idiot or just an idiot in general (I'm looking at you, Makoto), MC Naoe Yamato is a pretty relatable character in terms of being in a world where most people around him are skilled in martial arts to DBZ levels of ridiculous-ness. Not only that, but especially in S, there are a slew of minor characters who eventually get their own routes in future fandiscs, and that treatment for characters you wouldn't normally care about is greatly appreciated. I personally love A-1 the best, though, since it has a route all for my best girl in the series, but the whole slew is pretty good in general.

Monster Girl Quest

Not because it appeals to my fetishes or because of the wide variety of art styles but, because you could take out all of the porn and still have a game worth playing. The characters have depth, the story is engaging and has good twists, the Humor Lands, the Challenge is fair and there is a lot of Chemistry between Luka and Alice.

I have to say that I agree with these fine people here. I played it when it was first released and fell in love with it. It has everything, a great story, beautiful renders (not to mention sexy, well not all of them, those LGMs and that spider, ugh and Mike can fuck off! Useless tool! to mention a few but you get my drift) excellent gameplay, I still haven't everything after 20 or so playthroughs. damn that Trisha easter egg! and it's very funny. What also adds to the game is the dev, she teases little bits of the game that we might have missed or bits that are coming soon and is always happy to chat. If you have a chance, you should play Heavy Five. You won't regret it. unless you are dead inside, and I don't mean from cumming too much you dirty dirty pervert :devilish:

I always feel bad for picking just 1.

I get on with quite a few devs on here but i've spoken to Notty more or less since I joined the forum during the build up to her game she'd make regular posts and we chatted a bit so I was invested in her work before it came out.

She's always been really good to chat to. I like her, I like her work. Sure i'm a bit of a fangirl but you can't go wrong giving it a go.

If I could have picked more i'd throw Alison Fall of Apple in now (I hadn't played it back then) and not only because i'm in it.

IMO, the one adult game I would call a masterpiece (by adult games standards only),
is Slave Lords of the Galaxy
Awesome trainer, sexy characters, a funny story, plenty of options for naughty stuff...great game.

(honorable mentions for Harem Hotel and Kingdom of Deception but they're not completed)

I'm a bit surprised by the other games mentioned in this thread though.....
I really don't get the love for Abukar games (princess trainer etc)....endless yakking, endless grinding, crappy sex scenes....yawn, I'd rather play a real game, the pornographic aspect of Abukar games is non-existent really
And Desperate Awakenings.....some cool stuff, liked the beginning but as the story progresses it becomes way too pretentious and the last part has no sex at all.....I'd rather watch a good movie.
And Milfy City...ugh, I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder....I find the art so ugly it's unwatchable

As I mentioned on another thread I was considering developing my own game (in a not so near future).....but this thread is depressing. Many games I really dislike seem to be very popular. Maybe my tastes are weird (although the games I mentioned are very popular on Pateon and they're closer to what I'd like to do so....not sure

Edit: Speaking of normal games.....the greatest of all times would have to be FF7 for me (but I also love Starcraft, both Broodwar and SC2)

I have pretty much tried all the games on this forum that fit my sexual interest and there aren't any masterpiece games for my sexual interest unfortunately. I enjoy incest with impregnation from romantic love and seduction through mutual attraction and lust. The games I use the most to ease my sexual desires aren't completed yet, so i can't judge them being a masterpiece.

Dreams of Desire with the incest patch and All family is pregnant ending is close enough for the mention. Negatives being that we don't experience the moment of impregnation and only see the aftermath of impregnation with them all being close to giving birth. Plus it feels kind of empty because it is technically supernatural mind control and not actually having seduction and attraction being the reason why they wanted to have sex with the main character. For those reasons it is not quite a masterpiece for me. I am an optimist and i keep hoping and looking for a masterpiece.

Either 4 Elements Trainer or Witch trainer Silver Mod. They are both incredible games with dedicated developers actively releasing new content at a reasonable rate.

Four Elements Trainer for the knowledge/respect of the original material, how funny it can be sometime (the gay guards of the Fire Nation are just that hilarious), and the wonderful love route in Book 2.
