sci-fi stuff. I don't know why, but I can't stand it. I don't want to see this kind of stuff not only in adult games but in any TV series or movie.
What turns you off about a game almost immediately?

Forced sex scenes, I play games to have choice if i didn't want to have a choice i would read some smut books.
One-sided monogamy. Nothing takes me out of a story more quickly than a woman madly in love with me but not the tiniest bit jealous.
A childish Plot in which I the player feel like the writer/Dev had no interaction with women in his entire life...it's called adult games for a reason. As life experience is the secret ingredient for a good book the same can be said for a games plot Tolstoi or not.
I get the fiction, the fantasy and over the top moments but even the aforementioned prostitution hands out more reason to fuck that some games these days do.

Well reading through the overview of Headpats&Handholding made me laugh so you bring up another major point...humor...
as without an occasional laugh it shouldn't be called a game certainly not a good one, creativity beats judgement after all.

Guess I'll start with shit I genuinely hate everytime i see it in a game.
Shota: I'm over 25+ years of age playing an Ao rated game, I am not here to see a child have sex with anything. I can't express how much hatred i feel when i either see a new game cover, look at screenshots, or jump into a game and when i see the character I'm driving, is some little bastard who hasn't hit puberty yet. Worse are the large amount of art and games that center around milfs
that i love) but are continually paired with boys. I know ppl enjoy it and under normal circumstances I couldn't care less but when I'm continually seeing little boys either drawn or put in an adult situation, I'm instantly turned off.
Dilf: Although I'm a part of the incest lovers, I just can't enjoy a grown man fucking his daughter.
Netorare: Playing as a guy who is cheated on does nothing for me.
Lesser but still annoying
Reused lines: I get it, we're trying show history through dialogue but never seeing lines like "We use to bathe together when you were a child" or "I use to look at you naked all the time when you were younger" cant come soon enough
Bad Writing: Obviously playing a game where the dialogue is barely readable and the interaction between characters is total trash.
Wordy: Obviously most adult games are vn so i'm cool with reading. The issue are games where its tons of dialogue with really no movement. What i mean is games where it's just ppl talking with no change in the images, no movement on the characters to show they are talking, reaction with no accompanying picture to show the reaction, movement stated with no moment, etc. Even moreso are games that don't balance talking with advancement in the plot. Good vn know how to balance the characters interacting while also moving towards teasing or sex.
Bad tension: I fucking hate when there is literally no tension or chemistry between the characters in the story. I love when characters are into each other but they don't just jump into it. In fact alot of the time, the tension is the real arousal because alot of the times once the sex happens, theres little to no real interaction, just some "ah ah ah so big i'm about to come" with janky animations.

I'd like to think I'm avoiding most of these pitfalls in my own game, but I'm not the one to be judging that.
For me, it's grind mechanics and dozens of mouse clicks in different parts of the screen to make progress. For creators making adult games - know your audience!

Fascinating! Could you provide some particularly egregious examples? Also, could you recommend some games with black characters done right?
To my mind, a black character done right is just a character written like any other. Character, not caricature.
Just a shity MC. This can get annoying so quickly for me. What I mean by shitty is being mean to everyone or just a bad person for no reason. Can be a quick turn off from the game.
So many things and number one is sandbox, not because sandbox is bad per se but because it is done so badly so often.
I start lots of games and play until I get bored, which is usually around five to ten minutes with most of them.

In principle, I agree. But being very much not black and very much not American, I would probably fail to recognise traits that an actual African-American would see as uncanny or even annoying. I happen to like black women A LOT and would like to add always at least one to my games. So far I simply wrote them as I would any other female character, which I is fine I suppose. But I was wondering if there is anyone else who did, you know, better than fine.

people don't seem to like the 2017 movie's leads.
@thread: laggy or unresponsive controls and logic/continuity issues (be it bugs from the wrong flags/variables being changed or the dev's lack of memory of their own story)

For exemple where you need days of grinding (eat, work, sleep) without getting anywhere and when you are alrady stuck on the second day because you dont kow what to do and can only speed up the clock to reach the next day.

That is honestly all devs need to do but we never get it. I just played a game where the mc is some generic white guy and his best friend is a black guy who barely looks it. His friend is around a ton for some reason and i was putting up with it but one time you go in the room and he got a gold grill in his mouth rapping, i had to turn the game off. 90 percent of the time all a dev has to do is make a person and just make him a black guy but 99 percent of the time he's a played out black bull, thug, bully, or cucker. that 9.9 percent is the best friend. The .1 percent is the mc of Alpha Omega.

I really dont need to provide examples because most art and a few games have the bulls and cuckers. A good few games have the generic black popular bully. The black best friend is evvverywhere, there are so many games I've jumped into where everything is cool and all of a sudden the mc's phone goes off, someone comes over the house, he comes into town and low and behold "the black bestfriend." Its sad that there are 2 or 3 games that come to mind where there is actually a black mc and the 2 main ones arent finished, the third one i cant remember the name of. Atm the best black mc i've come across is Alpha Omega which of course might never get finished.
