Using the patch from DONTCENSOR breaks it. Playing without the patch or the patch from LEWDPATCHER works nicely.

I haven't really commented much on this update. After I first played it, I was kinda like...really...that's it?
However...there were a lot of story-building/relationship-building elements involved.
As others have stated...Miru is so different now compared to the old game. She's a loving girlfriend now...who is trying to keep the peace with MC and his family. She's been so positive and supportive. It's great.
People were complaining about the introductions of many characters...but think about it. You go back home for the first time in years...yeah, a lot of your family might show up for that. I dunno. I come from a huge family. I know my parent's cousins and their parents even. And what this does, story-wise, is open up a lot of opportunities, later.
This site has so many nauseating harem games where every single girl falls in love with MC off the bat. No reason at all. This revamp, we're actually seeing why someone already love or loved MC. We're seeing a path where relationships can be regained and grown. The more feeling behind it and the more attachment we can build to these characters, the better.
Ok, rant over. Sorry folks. I hate the long development times, too. But, I have to admit, it's much better than the original version.

As Ayhsel stated, it's a desired effect. Bokeh effect is used in photography, cinematography, etc to call attention to the subject.
Not sure about that I have done many walk and talk in my life and rarely do I ever get the feeling that the background is getting so much blurry unless of course if I was in a fast moving vehicle,and this blurry background renders happens in still scenes too where characters are just sitting around.

No need to apologize, friend. If I said what I'd like to say about harem games, especially harem-cest games, I'd be snowed under by 3 x 10^5 facepalms which would likely break the site.

Your taste is certainly not abnormal for the real world. Here...well, mayhem reigns.
I think if one would consider the demographics of those liking huge mammaries, one would find an age group somewhat south of drinking age...for the most part. As for me, someone well beyond 50, I see those then calculate forward 20 years, apply gravitational forces then do a mental render of said mammaries hanging to the waist. No thank you. Pert, is far and away better.

I finished this update and I have to say that it was pretty good. So far, I'm leaning more towards the rework being slightly better than the old version. There's some stuff I liked in the old version more but some stuff I like better here. Miru, for one, continues to be way better than the old one, where she was a bit obnoxious. That said, I'm still going for an open relationship.
The main improvement, I felt, was the family interactions are better. In the old version, it didn't really feel like they were all a family. In here, they felt like one. I would say I prefer the old Katie a bit more but the new version is still good. She just feels a bit tamed/timid. Old version of Leia was slightly better too. I'm referring to there character, not their looks here. They look great, visually.
As far as everything else went in Ch 2. The MC was a much bigger asshole. I also enjoyed seeing the previous cast being updated with their new looks. Now I'm curious how much story is going to be changed since Monica and other things are turning out vastly different. That spider scene was honestly wholesome and hilarious as shit.
Overall, I'd say it was an great update but that worry about the game taking forever because of it's quality came true. Hopefully the dev can manage to bring the release time down to at least 6 months. A year is way too long time for an update. Especially one that's trying to go more in a slow burn direction. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to it. I just hope it isn't too long of a wait again.

As someone who enjoys the NTR stuff...I appreciate this version more...because it seems more realistic. So far, MC and Miru have a great relationship. The only "NTR"...is that people are seeing her naked while they fool around or whatever. Not even NTR. This leaves it open in the future for whatever Ocean has planned. Straight up cheating if MC is a dick to Miru? Maybe sharing? The whole open relationship route where they are ok with each other being with others?
This approach is much more realistic and not some shitty porn game logic. This new version lets you build a relationship with Miru better as the player. You'll either hate to cheat on her, want to share her, or want to be faithful to each other. Or some combination of that. Either way, I think we'll all be able to build more of a connection with these characters in various ways...
Now...if only the game will finish before we're too old to use computers...

heh...well, my definition of harem-cest is when the MC is able to bang mom, older sister, younger sister, maternal aunt, paternal niece, grandmother, and third cousin on the uncle's side without any of the females ever having an issue with said arrangement.
