Is there anything worth while in the new update? Or do I have to restart the game? I played the new update and saw really nothing.

Wow, I tried but what a waste of time. Dude, no one cares about your story if it doesn't create sexual tension. It's a sex game for fapping. I had to click through the whole first three scenes, including the sex between Fabio and the chick, to maybe get to something good. Nope. Was some vanilla whatever boring plain sex with people I don't know anything about. I don't think you understand erotica. Maybe there is a language barrier or something, maybe something happens later, but if I have to spacebar for 10 minutes and still nothing spicy is developing, I'm out. Its a shame because the 3D is amazing and loved the animations, but I quickly lost interest. ..

Nice to see I'm not the only one who can't stand the new MC's look, as well as noticing how detrimental Ocean's perfectionist ambition is for overall development. Wish he'd team up with a badass writer and put some serious shit out.

Sure, it looks better, but story and writing wise it actually seems a bit worse. So melodramatic and pretentious.

I still like the game, I do think despite his quirks and weaknesses Oceanlab isn't really a bad writer, but in regard to these reworks/remakes, he is his own worst enemy.
What will happen in two years? He will probably be at about the level the game was before he rebuilt it from scratch, by then we will have new, better software and hardware and then what? Will he start over once more?

I get the urge to bring the beginning of your game to your current level of skill, but if your development also is quite slow in general, it's just not practical. I dabble in writing myself and I know the feeling that stuff just isn't how you want it to be and so you rewrite and rewrite and rewrite it, but that can lead to completely losing your drive, because if you rewrite the same page 25 times it will seem as if you make no progress at all, which will in turn frustrate you even more than just continuing to write with a quality you deem halfway decent.

Once you finished the story, there's still time to rework the parts you don't like. Once you finished your game, you can go back to the first few chapters and remake them then.
Doing it like this, with two games AND slow development in general, I fear this will just lead to a big fat nothing in the end, which would be a real shame on many levels.

Miru's new look is fine, she looks more half-Asian than Asian now, but still hot as fuck, Leia, I think I actually liked her more in the original version. The automatically progressing sex scenes which can't be rolled back and will completely skip once you press a button suck. This just isn't practical, especially not in a program like Ren'py where we are used to clicking to progress text and images.
IDK, of course in the end it is completely up to Oceanlab, but if you ask me, in my personal opinion, this overhaul isn't worth the loss of time and progression. Not at this stage.

This is how I feel about Summer Gone I don't care for the reworking of the old chapters. I didn't see a problem with the old one. I am just wanting for new but at the same time, I slowly stopped caring about it and just waited for whenever comes out.

I like the game but honestly, I care more about the romance than I do the main story in general really. I know it's unpopular, but I played other games that might not have great art as this but at least the story keeps me interested. I skipped the library, meeting the mom boyfriend, and daughters a bit.

Maybe the game just isn't for me tbh.

Didnt want to miss anything of this reworked version so made myself a walkthrough. Now its ready I thought it could be of use to others as well so here it is.
I intend to update as future game versions come out but Ocean already warned me. "Trying to keep it accurate might become a problem, though. As the branching will get a little tricky further down the line." Another good reason for a WT... right?

Well my point was not that a good sex game needs to be made for a 'quick fap.' Just the opposite actually. I have happily slogged through years of AWAM where there is almost no sex. Why? Because a good game is more about creating sexual tension and erotic situations. If done right, it is far better than random boring generic sex scenes. Not all writers understand this and it shows. I usually gravitate towards NTR/cheating games because of this taboo eroticism/tension. If I just wanted a quick fap, I wouldn't bother with sex games.

i'm wondering if the dad's going come back he and miru had good scenes but never went anywhere. i also don't know what's going on story wise. hope ntr affects other girls and mom this time around and not just miru.

but these 2 chapters were meh. also glad i'm not alone on mc's new look. i wonder if the sister pink hair still going have dominate route or just straight harem, cause i like the choices more in previous game.

Frankly when I look at this new version of the game I feel fairly let down, and the reason being is I feel that Katie is now the indirect MC of the story, seriously, so much of this remake is about bitching about how bad the MC was as a kid / teen. Previously it was something you sorta figured out later, that he hadn't been an angel as a kid / teen, but not outright basically a villain, however here they go balls deep to make you feel the MC is an asshole, while at the same time virtually removing all the odious from Katie.

This is starting to feel like Naruto, now I am sure many people won't get what I am going for, but here is the deal in Naruto, while the main character was technically the center of the story, you could see easily whoever made the damn show was enamoured with what was supposed to be a frenemy named Sasuke, the show was basically all about how cool & badass Sasuke was while how stupid yet overpowered Naruto was.

Here it feels the story took a similar tonal shift when it comes to the MC where he used to be a good guy but had some flaws when younger, to an outright ex-villain, while Leia went from a secret villain to a not secret at all villain, seriously it was better when you discovered overtime their was shaddy with Leia rather than the story being in your face about it.

Ultimately to the benefit of Katie which in the original was portrayed as the villain, but over the course of the previous story was revealed she had been pushed aside by her siblings, so she went on to become a brat, which led to them bullying her, which led her to become outright nasty about it, which led to the MC running away because it was too much to take.

This new version however has her being outright bullied from the start, being a victim from the start, effectively justifying her entirely and hardly mention how bad she was herself, it feels the Dev decided she should be the one that should be the MC, I guess since she is on the cover, I am nearly shocked the Dev hasn't just straight up made her the MC because it feel like she is this Dev's Sasuke.

Also, in the previous version Miru could take a dig at Dylan for being a musclebound dude, here the MC is a musclebound dude... right... so I guess the Dev decided that something that previously be interpreted as a negative is now a positive, or decided to just add on another negative to the MC.

I'll say one of the only good changes to have come of this new version is Miru looks way better, however as someone else mentioned, she now looks half-Asian rather than full Asian, considering previously it gave the impression she was the runaway daughter of someone along the lines of a female Yakuza boss, its a bit peculiar that she is now half-Asian. Some of the female characters looks better now, but otherwise outside some of the graphics, it feels everything else is worst.

I also started to design the first modules of the gigantic "Barn" environment for the next Chapter.

In December, Nvidia will release the new Ada Lovelace A6000 GPUs. Even though WiAB is far away from the level of support that would make such an investment 'a comfortable experience'.

I want to invest in WiABs future... and to be honest... This new Environment & the outside of the MC's current place desperately need it.

If you want to build big, lively, beautiful scenes comfortably, you just need the Vram.

WiAB should join SG's development speed in the future (Not fully but future releases will be much faster.)

Hi,

I am surprised that so many dislike the MC look, whatever..
This feels completely different then what was before. I still really like it.
I even kept the NTR on despite I hate it.
But, why should I decide against Miru, I also dont know why there are other girls when I have her.. lol I find her still perfect and the chemistry so nice... and I dont care about the others in a lewd way...

Sadly it all takes so long... but I wish him good luck with both game.

I think the issue is the dev just isn't that creative from a writing perspective and has run out of ideas. Reworking old content is straight out of the "no more ideas" dev handbook. Ocean is clearly talented, but I do wonder if he would be better off creating visuals for another dev who can write.

I'm expecting a rewrite of a rewrite in both VNs in 2024...
