I would consider Ocean removing the original premise of his story equivalent to him abandoning his vision for the story and his heart will never be in it as much as if he stuck to it.

Is the devlog for both games today or next week?

Will this game include netorare, or is it only netorase? Thanks
In short, all the types.
Netori, being for now Monica the example.
Netorare, although for now it is only talked about as a form of punishment in Miru's route (Ocean once said that each LI is different and their netorare routes would be different).
Netorase, and we already see that William insists with the open relationship.
Cuckold bull with Gina, who can become netori.

And so far I remember what was “confirmed” (everything can evolve and change).

Should be this week I think.

I'm just hoping for a good story with lots of Katie, and plenty of cloak and dagger shenanigans. I think it'll be great even if it's different to what I thought it would be when I first discovered it pre-rework. The original premise was pretty much stumbled into playing the pre-rework - Ocean's not the same person he was back then, none of us are. He's probably refined his sense of what is uniquely WiaB and can't be altered, and what parts were just being provocative for their own sake.

As long as I keep enjoying it and Ocean keeps rendering, I'll probably pay attention.
While I agree my fear is that the story will become disconnected, with different parts that don't quite fit together, the change announced has a impact in the whole story and while I don't think that Ocean would do such thing with out thinking things through, it can be difficult to change course mid way through, it has only 3 chapters released but the story is writing and the butterfly affect is real one change will lead to another and another and another. Either Ocean embraces all the changes or things may become disjointed if he aims at the same destiny with a very different route. Is early and I honestly think that the change can be good to the story but I don't think that is as easy as changing how William calls Helen. I will be here as long as I think is worth be invested in it and I can't really cry about a story that was never told to me.

I would like to point out a couple of things, first, and going back to the hackneyed “chapter 4 became essential”, so far the story has not moved from the already known keystones of the old WIAB, so on that side you would be right in saying that reaching the same goal with different paths (plus the changes you want to introduce) leads to not the best of ports (you can like SG a lot, but season one the whole remake was weird, and it was for having to amalgamate so many things, wanting to keep the story, take out the genitals, take out scenes, put scenes . ... in short, not very neat as a result).
Now, if chapter 4 is a fresh new start, then that possibility is diluted, WIAB is not completely written (SG is supposed to be) so taking what it has and making it really different would lead to even better story. And as I'm writing it I realize that SG exists and that “prequel to” makes my idea impossible....
So after thinking out loud, I have to agree with you.(y)

Do we have NTS content for Chapter 4? If so, how much? Thanks
I think you meant NTR right? And its for CH 3 right? Chapter 4 was not released yet, so no way to know.
In any case, there's is not a FULL NTR scene for CH3, but there's content that is more of a sharing thing imo and needs player consent, if player (mc) gives consent Miru does some stuff to a guy. (the guy put his hand on her ass (not naked), grope her breasts, put his hands inside her pants (but will not touch her pussy) and suck her tits)
But be aware i dont like such content and made one playthrough just to see dialogue differences depending of choices, and i dont know if theres more.
If its not this you wanted to know, sorry.

Hello,

So, I returned from my family trip and took an additional day off to take care of my apartment and return to the usual Wednesday Dev log.

Let’s get into the Dev Log.

Sound design.
In one of the first Dev logs for Season 2, I mentioned that I would improve the game's sound design.

In an ideal world, a game would be like a movie… However, I don’t have voice actors and would never consider getting them before the games are finished.

So, the "tone of the voice" relies on the reader's imagination. I can only influence it through expressions, music, and the composition of the images.

I personally dislike repeating playlists and would like an additional tool to transfer the right mood.

Contrasts & timing.
If you listen to a song repeatedly, it loses its power.

In future updates, I will implement ambient sounds. Not just random nature or street noises, but precise ambient sounds. There’s a clock in the room, you will hear from where it’s coming.

For example, in Summer’s Gone Chapter 2, Bella and MC are in her kitchen after the heist.

You would hear the room's ambiance, a slight buzzing from the refrigerator, a faint clock somewhere in the living room, etc.

Meanwhile, music would be used to accentuate special scenes. Or I might let it play quietly in the background?

I’ll figure this out and create polls about it. I will also have a scene in the upcoming update where I'll try out some different ideas.

Before I went to visit my family, I ordered the Tascam DR40X Audio recorder and started building my own library. “Why don’t you just buy the sounds?”

Because I’m sick of having to play Minesweeper with licenses and by building an SFX and Ambient library myself, I'll always be on the safe side.

I’ve already made several recordings, and they just need to be edited, dialed in, and sorted.

Don’t get me wrong; the game will still use a lot of music. However, sometimes less is more…

Silence with some faint ambient noises followed by a slow introduction of, for example, Vesky—Aurora has a much bigger impact on the mood of the scene than a constantly repeating playlist.

I’m still in the figuring-out phase, but my wish is that it improves immersion, especially in future cinematics.

And I'm looking forward to your feedback on it.

Season 1 - Chapter 4

Big leaps in development are happening. I've been pumping out renders left and right, up and down.

I've made some Leia renders before I went away for the week that are most likely going to be my favorite renders of the update... Even though, Miru, Helen and Katie have some aces up their sleeves, too.

Yeah, many "smaller" scenes are creeping towards an end. There's a few more smaller ones that I'll be tackling afterwards, and then the end scene. Which is a very big scene with tons of people in it. I'm looking forward to it.

Oh and when I say "smaller" scenes, I'm still talking about 100-300 render scenes minimum.

Appreciated cmork. Not telling is a whole lot really other than...renders increasing...I think that confirms we're not seeing either this year....

In other news...damn...that ass....

Really unlikely this year but it seems to be heading down its final stretch. Finising up smaller - not so smaller- scenes and then the final one. A late january to mid february seems like a real possibility.

Didn't he write that he was passing the logs on the same day so as not to have to repeat the information? :cautious:
On the other hand I am puzzled how he announces that the small scenes will have a minimum of 100 or 300... I think he should write a little more and say “some of those small scenes have a minimum of 100 renders, while others have a minimum of 300”.
I think I had opted for May-June as a possible release, but the SG log seemed to me more hopeful... makes me believe that SG is closer to completion and therefore WIAB will have a hiatus to complete the SG release.
