So after finishing my playthrough, I absolutely can't understand that dumpster fire starting here about the removed taboo shit.
Nothing important was lost or will ever be missed. Especially not from newer players, players that don't carry that mess/bias of old luggage from the old game around.
From the reaction of you guys here, I was concerned about a total clusterfuck of a story. But I was proven wrong.

Even the old WIAB had a strong tendency to swing into the direction of a crime story, the framing for the rape or the final cinematic in the court.

Miru was batshit crazy in the old game and had connection to some/her(?) kind of Yakuza family. At least one trait of her was portet over ...
It was mentioned that Miru and William had meet after/in prison, in Ch3 or earlier - IIRC.

The only thing I just ask myself is, do you guys even spend a fraction of a braincell and think about what is going on in the dialogs? Or are you just drooling over the one render after the another?





Just drop this adventure, it will just be wasted time.
Make your peace with the thought that this ship has sailed away and has sunk.
We are not talking about patching one or another scene back into the game. You have to think about the workload you get to catch up with this sort of stuff, and for what? From now on, including the present chapter, all future chapters have to be rewritten to force that taboo shit into it, until a point that your patch will alienate the patched game compare to original to the point of fubar.

Let's be honest with ourselves, we are not anymore in the early 2000s/2010s. The complete taboo stuff was the real shit, back in the AIF times, but that horse is dead, get it finally, stop beating it and move on.

If you really want to patch something back into the game. Build a patch to restore the cinematic back into the game from the start that has to be dropped because of the music license issues. That was something I have really missed.




On the first glance I recognised Noji, the reporter bitch Nicole, Sashas Mother - her used model is the same as used in the old WIAB, just without being pregnant, not 100% sure about this, to much time past ...

Well, time to get a replay of the book club scene in SG to find the other ones.



Nope, it will not work on the gallery because there is noting from chapter 4 present to be unlocked. Gallery version chapter 3 final.

I think that to say that something of importance wasn't lost is a stretch. This chapter suffers from a huge tone wiplash. The reasons as to why was such a taboo for William have something with Leia then or now is really... not great, same for Katie. We lost the whole family dynamic with was something that I liked, not because of incest but because it add weight to it all. Some characters behavious make a lot less sense now, I really hope Ocean goes back and change the first 3 chapters.

I don't think it ruins the story. In fact I think that is better to have none at all than the wink, wink that SG does. But it removed a pilar for the story and Ocean response was to expand the mob side of things, is not something that I hate but is a different direction for the story. One that we have to wait to see if has legs of its own. I think that Ocean did a great job on change course on a moving ship, but it is felt.

I think the complete opposite, i liked the way it was before of course, but imo, looking from a story perspective makes a lot more sense the way it is now. Before, despite the taboo, the moment they decided to engage with each other the danger of it would end, they are consenting adults and once they decided to leave the house no one could do much to stop them....but not now, it doesnt matter if they are consenting adults, doesnt matter if they leave the house, doesnt matter if they decide to move out of town, they cannot be together if they dont deal with the danger first, if they decide keep secret of the relationship they are still in danger and the families can decide to marry any of them...

I think the complete opposite, i liked the way it was before of course, but imo, looking from a story perspective makes a lot more sense the way it is now. Before, despite the taboo, the moment they decided to engage with each other the danger of it would end, they are consenting adults and once they decided to leave the house no one could do much to stop them....but not now, it doesnt matter if they are consenting adults, doesnt matter if they leave the house, doesnt matter if they decide to move out of town, they cannot be together if they dont deal with the danger first, if they decide keep secret of the relationship they are still in danger and the families can decide to marry any of them...

But - at this point in the story she's got a toddler called Maja, and she's soon to be pregnant with Vic. Just like who I think is Elena will have to get pregnant with Sasha soone, and Amber will have to get pregnant with Bella and her sister pretty quick. There's only ~ 20 years between WiaB and SG, and some of the are older than 18 (Maja).

I think Ocean just said around 20 years earlier - 25 and WiaB preganancies will result in older people. Depends on the time fram the game covers though, if we get fast forwards...

But yes, 35 to 40. I won't claim I didn't fall for the same misake though, the look is the same basic model, But Ocean reused Scarlet's Old Wiab model for Vic in the first place, pretty much.

That is the thing, the price for them being together was the shame, lose the family, it was high for two teenagers. Now persuing Leia is a player choice. Helen and Dylan lose a lot of weight too, I had such empathy for Dylan... now not as much. The true is that they never saw themselves as family só Dylan as this tragic figure that failled as a father, husband and head of the family is lost.

As to Leia and William as a couple. The marrige and máfia angle can work, I just can't shake the feeling that it was just a excuse. I can not make sense of why Helen and Dylan would make this move, feels too much like a bad mob film, is cliche. Dosen't make bad but Ocean has to have a really good reason for all of it because the Lost Heir is really bland. What makes William and Leia só special that they can not fuck each other ? If Nika is their child, is he the mob antichrist ?

As I said is a new direction, and one that was better than I thought it would be, but I will wait to see how it unfolds, because now I think it has a lot more room to goo off the rails. Not because it dosen't have IC but because that was not the version of the story he first wrote and is easier to lose the plot.

Why do I feel like every time I play this game, there is less content and just more text.
There isn't a single scene in this game that is interesting. With how slow this game updates It's going to be 2030 before we get a 4th scene with Miru.
This game was better pre-remake. At least it had some scenes then. Now it's just a mafia intrigue game where everyone hates the MC for no reason.
It's barely even a porn game anymore. And Liea still needs boob surgery, she's the only character in the game that looks like she went to a plastic surgeon and said, 50 bucks is all I have make my tits bigger.
Oh and we can remove the NTR tag from this game too. There isn't any.
There is also way too many girls in this game. Too many love interest.

At this point, I am convinced that the NTR tag is there to bait more people into the game. The only scene that Miru has that is remotely "NTR" you have to jump through hoops and choose a very specific dialogue to unlock it.

And no Miru NTR scenes this update. Probably 10 more years before another dick enters her vagina.

1. William was already going to return after a few months, but was stopped due to circumstances he found himself in (in the new update), he got a reason to return when Leia called.
2. We don't know who was behind his parents demise, may be the "judges" and the Zanes might have been out of loop to this (only time will tell).
3. Also we don't know what they talked on the phone call William was given while in jail. He might not have even mentioned where he is. Even if he did Helen may have told him not to return to protect him, as William has to face the "judges" now (only time will tell).
4. Yes he could have done a better job with the mafia thing.
We don't know what dev is planned for all these storylines, give it time, he may surprise us or disappoint. Critize when they are bad, not when unfinished.

Pardon me, but you do not have to wait to criticise a car wreck in the making if the direction is that clear! I look at this with a writer´s eye. And I see scortched earth due to an overreaction by Ocean, leading to a horrible Flickwerk (patchwork). Characterisations and motivations are off, events do not fit well anymore, he is sucking some idiotic "rules" out of his fingers to patch over changes, not to speak about the rewriting of SG coming, because he also tossed out the framework leading to the situation in SG.
Dr.TSoni already mentioned that Helen and Willi did not part on friendly terms from their last meeeting in prison, she let him rot there! And going by the hints and pieces of history we can learn that Helen and Dylan took Willi and Leia in for damn cold reasons, namely their profits in the future. Helen is depicted now as a thorough as... and it is not difficult to theorise she know of the hit on Willi´s parents or even was involved with it to make sure he is the "last Grimaldi" in the nation.

These is just a tiny bit of the rubbish heap Ocean produced with this rewrite. He is trying to make a robin out of a cat, so to speak and this will fail.
