They care about LAWS. period. Not payment apps or banks or morals. As per their own statements.
So "deciding you violated something" is not a reason they'd take it off the storefront. Laws aren't "something".

My biggest issue with this update is the hackneyed mafia shit with contrived rules like arranged marriages. Couldnt we have left that in the 90s when people last gave a shit about that?

Is there any reason why William and Leia couldnt have been "adopted" into this semi-criminal family for whatever fake-dramatic but insignificant reason, got involved with each other and then chastised simply because its fucked up when you basically grew up as siblings? Instead of some silly mafia-family-arrangement reason? Unlike how some games on this site are suggesting, people would absolutely react repulsed by that, not to mention that as a parent I wouldnt want this to mess up the whole family dynamic. Leia would 100% get bullied relentlessly for that, and William running away to avoid dealing with the situation makes sense. Why do you need to craft this nonsense mafia story around that?

Then the story could have simply been about William trying to reconcile with his de-facto family (without being some fucked up tool for leverage in the mafia) and then helping build up the Zane empire with criminal and non-criminal means. You can then craft stories around conflicts with other crime syndicates (without cringe Italian names), government institutions etc. Thats a solid basis for a story, not outstanding, but solid. The incest angle would have made things spicier, but what can you do, not like you would nuke the game over outside factors. The mafia angle makes the story way more convoluted, and further developments are too reliant on the origin story. I dont think Ocean can pull that off well.

Fwiw I will continue playing this because I play Ocean's games for the interactions and the visuals, and these are mostly intact still. The plot, like in every other AVN, has always been pretty much slop. But thats fine, because after all the purpose of AVNs is to give some context and generate attachment to characters, so getting off is more enjoyable. If I want actual good storytelling, I'd rather read a book or watch a movie, but AVNs can have some deficiencies because they serve an additional purpose. And after all, I think WiAB's plot is in an AVN context still fairly above average.

As a side note: As a German, can Ocean stop using these cringe German words that make my skin crawl? Ironicallymy reason for uninstalling will be the next time I have to read another 'Bubbele'.

You are a "Fischkopp", right, since the strewn-in words are mostly from southern dialects? But I understand you quite nicely, while some of the words are rather cute and should remain, others are cringe. But that is not the main problem here, it is the abyssal story retcon!

All he needs is a backup plan in case this happens. His stories work good without any porn, laugh all you want by SG S1 sells, and sells well enough.

No, without the porn, it would still be a character-driven story with a mafia setting and very strong emotional undertones of relationships and drama between characters. Just without the porn. He could easily have even replaced them with regular erotic scenes, without showing genitals or penetration.

One of the great tragedies of the this world is that such talent for making renders is being wasted on a guy that completely sucks when it comes to all other aspects of making a great AVN.

Ocean is simply a joke developer. Everything about his games is a joke, and everything about his approach to making games is a joke.

The guy cannot be taken seriously, and his his contribution to this industry is actually detrimental, because the disappointment you are left with after seeing such promising visuals, only for the game to be complete dogshit underneath them, is worse than having no game to play at all.

I think it because that is what is written in the WIAB dialogue script.

Again, any relationship between Will and Katie, presumably even a hint of one, was expressly forbidden by the families. The kiss seemingly crossed that line and Will was afraid Katie would use it against him.



Look at what Katarina said when asked the hypothetical question about Will sleeping with Katie, "Yeah, but if he slept with Leia instead of you, at least he wouldn't be clipped." She meant that in earnest because she stated earlier, "Just thinking about this question makes me anxious..."

It seems that the kiss started it all - that is NOT speculation, it's what is written in the script. What other factors happened subsequent to the kiss to make William leave are open to speculation because nothing else is stated in the script. They could involve William's relationship with Leia, they could involve Katie threatening to blackmail William, or they could involve something else entirely. We just don't know the full story yet.

I replayed WIAB from the start to finish and noted (among other things) EVERYTHING related to the reason William left and the secret Katie held that Will was so afraid of.

What I've presented as dialogues in my previous posts is 95% of what's given in the script about the reason William left. The other 5% is a rumor Dana mentions (that is in both versions of the game) that I hadn't posted yet:

As far as I saw going through, Leia doesn't know exactly why William left and William never gives her anything close to an clear explanation.

In my previous posts I have simply put forth what multiple dialogues say on the subject. I would welcome any other reasonable interpretations of all those dialogues because they all point to the same thing as far as I can see.

The dialogues reinforce:

1. A William/Katie relationship was strictly taboo in the family(s) and a William/Leia relationship was either less taboo or not taboo at all in the family(s) (confirmed by William/Katie/Katarina)
2. William/Katie shared at a kiss sometime before he left, with both knowing the act was taboo (confirmed by William/Katie)
3. William feared Katie would reveal the kiss to Helen/Dylan and possibly Leia (confirmed by William a few times)

I actually think this scenario/dynamic between William and Katie is great, so much more impactful than any i-scenario. William is literally putting his life on the line romancing Katie, more so if he lets her take compromising selfies of them together. His life is literally in her hands - someone he traditionally doesn't trust. That dynamic is akin to someone putting their John Thomas into the mouth of a sleeping lioness and praying for the best...

SG sells because there are titties and it's leading towards sex. If SS decide to remove adult content (which is as likely as them cracking down on incest), all that will have to be removed, leaving a game with an impotent MC who isn't allowed to have sex.
