I think his numbers might take a bit of a toll. As much as I despise the incest and ntr crowds, they have deep pockets and are willing to pay to see their weird kinks.

No, if the new target audience does not respond, it will simply be abandoned, this is basically the silver bullet for WIAB, there was no audience to pay for it and it went out to find a different one.

I don't think he would've kept WiaB going as long as he has, using SG to fund it, to just drop it like that.
More likely just revert to the previous script iteration where Will and Leia are twins and rewrite the latest update.

I’ve been feeling pretty conflicted about the update honestly. I might understand why the incest content been removed, and I respect that decision, but it still feels odd to experience the story without those original family dynamics. I’ve been following this game since like the old Chapter 2 circa, and for me, those relationships always felt like a big part of the main plot and continuity, even with SG to some degree. Seeing Leia no longer as the MC’s sister, or Helen not being his mom, just feels... off.
I’m really hoping Ocean can rework things in a way that still keeps the emotional depth and coherence of the story and not make mess. I'm fine without incest, but I have my doubts about Ocean as a writer lately.

I can understand and deal with the Helen change, but Leia being his twin was integral to the plot.
Instead of William falling in love with his sister, leading him running away, we're now at the point of "he fell in love with his roommate and the other roommates wouldn't approve".

It will never hold the same weight as what was established before. I do not need that to be part of the story, but as a narrative device, once that dynamic is introduced, the story is irrevocably shaped by it. Removing it later will always leave an unfillable void. The plot points that were informed by that dynamic will never hit the same when rewritten, because it is simply not the same, it cannot be the same.
That on top of the massive time investment this project has been from the start... Its laughable honestly.
At this point, write the goddamned story as it was meant to be or don't write it at all.

I am still thinking about if the download is worth it, considering what several players already shared. Just look at what a "family" Ocean now made:
How frakking stupid is the MC now, running away because he got a hard-on for his roommate, absolutely no relation at all. That´s nothing more than a WG (flat sharing)! Who would give a flying fuck about that? And Kati, blackmailing someone with his feelings for his WG roommate? Yawn!
And this cramp-like obsession with Italian names all the sudden. Just waiting for the big reveal that Miru´s family name is Corleone (cue Godfather waltz)

Yeah, it made sense for him to run away, and it made the plot interesting as we explored taboo and forbidden stuff. Now, we’re just encountering the usual landlady/roommate interactions, and it feels really awkward.
