actually, a couple of days ago it was marked as abandoned. then the dev intervened, and tag was quickly removed. i wonder how he avoided onhold tag . also, some time ago one negative review of his other game (summer's gone) appeared. it was removed in the blink of an eye. not all games (devs) have the same treatment here at f95 .
That's definitely truth. I've been victim of that two times. I don't know if 5 minutes passed since i published it (not for SG. for some other game) and it was gone. One I was able to restore, cause one of the mods said he deleted it "by mistake", but second time no - they just won't allow negative word for some games, despite review being completely legit. Also, just look what kind of rubbish five star reviews they're allowing for those games...also, some time ago one negative review of his other game (summer's gone) appeared. it was removed in the blink of an eye. not all games (devs) have the same treatment here at f95 .
Why does it matter that the developer is active (with another game)? If he haven’t done anything with this game in years, it is abandoned. Simple as that.Dev is still active, his other game just got updated so this won't be marked abandoned.
Bruh, chillHe's been showing update posts about it for the last couple months, and another one is coming soon.
It's not even on-hold. He has two PCs, one for each game, which means he works on both at the same time.
Just because the game hasn't been updated in 1+ years doesn't mean it's abandoned.
i know that it's up to dev to handle abandoned/onhold tags. some devs put onhold tag when they're reworking/rebooting their games, some not. to me that's the matter of honesty and trust. considering that wiab is going to get not cosmetic changes only, but also completely reworked story, imho that won't be the same game anymore. that totally deserves abandoned or onhold tag. if dev goes with abandoned, then he starts new thread when the rework is done. this was already addressed by Osider in this post:Mainly because that's a dev requested tag not one that's given by mods.
A dev needs to request their game put on hold or it's either left open or tagged abandoned. As the dev is still active it won't be marked abandoned but unless the dev himself requests it, it won't be tagged on hold either.
You must have some solid proof of why it was deleted to make a claim like that, gonna love to see it.

To get a fresh start without the drama and butthurt posts from some dirty pirates ages - well reading the last pages not so long - ago?I do think whenever the rework is complete, this thread should be tagged as abandoned and a new thread should be made though.
He never hid that he was working on another project. I would be suprise if any of his Patreon didn't know that and them supporting him mean they are fine with that. If they didn't know, they should have look up a little more on people they invest their money on.this game has been silent for a year and for some reason i just found Ocean is (maybe) working in some scanlation group for manhwa(korean comic) and promoting his other game, summer gone, here's theYou must be registered to see the links, look at the very bottom
I don't know if it was legit Ocean or just someone affiliated with him, but it's really infuriating to see that shit. it's not that he isn't allowed to do other things in his life, but when you just up and left your responsibility (aka this game) and only to reappear for promoting your other shit in an unrelated media while this one still has nothing just seems to be really disrespectful to those who fork over their money to support you.
and having reason such as "rework" because he's a "perfectionist" for a repeated long period of nothing of the game is something that's unacceptable in my opinion, i understand artist has their own vision and ideal , but there's no such a thing as a perfect artwork, only a finished one; and no matter how bad a finished artwork is, it's always a perfect one because it's the one that's finished
Don't want to be pessimistic, but game without an ending is kind of part of the experience here. We need to remind ourselves that we play thing in development after all. Most game will never have an ending and if they got one, will probably be rushed and disappointing( to be polite ). I don't really mind because I lose my interest in games before the dev does most of the time.It really shows what kind of person a dev is when they start making a new game before the current one is finished. All it says to me is that he'll never finish any of his games and that it's a waste of time to play them.
Potential.I am quite surprized that either of his games have any patreons. 300+ Patreons at $1800+ a month? What is it these people are paying for, hopes and dreams?
Let's not fool ourselves. Those are just excuses. No one is forcing Oceanlab at gunpoint to make both games. The game isn't abandoned. Why this is taking so long to update has been discussed at length earlier in the thread, even a few pages ago.
TLDR is:
1- He is working on 2 games.
2- He is reworking this one.
3- He is a bigtime perfectionist.
I do think whenever the rework is complete, this thread should be tagged as abandoned and a new thread should be made though.
Exactly this. This one had a good start and while a rework to some of the story would be good I don't think it was desperately needed. Meanwhile Summers Gone has a lot of hype around it, Its a solid game on its own and I look forward to its updates. But I also looked forward to this ones updates.Let's not fool ourselves. Those are just excuses. No one is forcing Oceanlab at gunpoint to make both games.
It's his decision. Each game has it's patreon page, so he's getting $ to make both of them.
The only difference is one game's had updates, while the other is stuck in rework limbo.
The complain about making money from both games is irrelevant. You get both games supporting only one. So what is the big deal about separating in two?Let's not fool ourselves. Those are just excuses. No one is forcing Oceanlab at gunpoint to make both games.
