In no way was i saying a harem is a Kinetic novel. For me, if harem is in the game it makes most choices a lot easier, this is all personal opinion and no one is right, but for me there are hard choices in these games. yeah sure you can go back and change a choice if you want or you can have multiple playthroughs but i still find some choices hard. A lot of games i only do 1 playthrough, some i have a couple saves but its rare for me. for me it adds more to it.


when it comes to picking the girls you like if harem is in the game for me personally it takes away all the hard decisions regarding that, even if i decide to just have 1 i know harem is in it so it changes it.

I dont want to start up this convo again though i was just replying because you took some of the things i said different to what i meant. end of the day its all up to personal preference, some games i like harems, some i dont. This game for me is perfect how it is, the writing is great, the decisions are hard, never did i think or feel like it was a harem we was just allowed to take longer to chose the girl we want.. and also if you pick right you can most likely end up with more than 1 girl anyway.

You jumped into the conversation and then claim I took things out of context. Okay fair enough but I just assumed you took your position because you knew Avaron made that claim and your were adding support to said claim by your expressing of your feelings toward harem and choice. I could not take your position any other way then I did because the whole point of the conversation you joined was a challenge to the claim Harem = kinetic novel. And you didn't make any caveats with regards to your position and the original premise that Avaron1974 made.

This is text so this likely sounds like i am annoyed or belittling you, neither is true. You missed the point AGAIN. A ridiculous amount of thread content (Not yours by the way) has been whining about this not being a Harem story. The Devs and many others, Avaron1974 included, have replied over and over that this was never an option and that the story is a different vein, path, genre, whatever. Avaron1974 saw with much clarity and release of angst (she never does this) that is if that is what a person wants all the time then it is a Kinetic novel. Think about it. If the same story line is reproduced over and over just changing some text and pictures it is nothing like a game of choices or a story of choices. It is the same result and therefore a Kinetic Novel like dozens, if not hundreds, of others. This game was not intended that way. If the end of the story is the same, it is still not kinetic if there are different paths which lead to that end. Kinetic novels, by definition offer no choice at all and are simply like real life novels. A kinetic novel offers little to no choice at all. If you can play the game a second time, and take a different path which results in a different story, even with the same ending, than it is not a kinetic novel. It may or may not be a boring game with very little incentive to play it again, but it will not be a kinetic novel.

Well, I kind-of agree with some of the comments. It all up to the developer(s) to provide their story, weather we like it or not. If the developer believe MC should get all the girls, then let it happens. Other developers believe there is limited option to choose from and it direct you to a different path. Nothing wrong with that. What it means there multiple endings when it get completed. I rather see how the developer provide their VN in their own ways. Beside looking forward to the next updates.

So I have been going over everything in my head and it makes complete sense to me that Bella is the gold digger and has been playing the MC against Elaine from the start.

however I had a thought what if Elaine didn’t send the emails and it was actually Bella dressed up to look like Elaine. We only have Jo’s word it was Elaine.

My other theory is that it was Elaine but she was convinced to not only send the emails but from the coffee shop instead of using her home computer by Bella.

I think i figured it out. BaDK devs took a hard stance of no haerm. But it paid off. The production value of that game was out of this world. The best of the best. So many paths in the story. Perfect renders and animations.

"Where the heart is" devs thought they'd copy that success due to a myopic understanding of what made that game great. They tried to end it with a similar ending with only one sole interest LI. Clearly it didn't work out so well.

The game should've just went pure harem with its inferior renders, animations and story. It would've been legendary, but instead it ended up as a "meh game".

Sad days, folks. Sad days.

BaDIK is a very different game. It has a lot more gameplay elements and a focus on 'paths' for the main girls that quickly diverge; as early as Episode 2, dancing with Sage costs you a chance to see Maya's family pictures. WtHI keeps the focus more on the girls themselves, with the secondary focus on the relationships between them. We get lots of opportunities with a large number of girls, but very few of those opportunities are mutually exclusive. Instead the girls themselves will inquire about the MC's other activities and make clear they aren't interested in sharing him (with a few notable exceptions). Eventually we start getting suspicion points as it grows more difficult to keep juggling the numerous relationships in secret.

Both games give numerous indications that we can't have all the girls, it's just that BaDIK reinforces that message mechanically with mutually exclusive options early on. Personally, I think WtHI would have benefited from something similar to make it clear that we follow multiple girls at our own peril. Arguably that would have interfered with this game's more 'sandbox' approach to the girls, but it might have saved us some headaches now.

Either way, this game wasn't going to have a classic harem setup any more that BaDIK was, and I personally am grateful for that. To me, harems aren't interesting unless they play very differently than romancing the various girls individually, which required an inordinate amount of effort to write.

There have been constant warnings that the girls wouldn't share.

Katie was only willing to share with the girls but jealousy still gets involved. None of the older women are willing at all.

It's not like it was sprung on you, you've had warnings. None of it was a surprise.

This is as laughable as those complaining about Becoming a Rockstar having all the LI's dump the MC if he was dating them all, they also gave you plenty of warning they wouldn't share.

It's like some of you ignore everything you get told and make up your own narrative.

Why does the Mc in that game look like a Guatemalan?
