First, I never asked for re-renders of any kind. I'm asking for a simple SKIP dialogue choice and jump statement. It takes the least amount of time, almost none.
Second, bro, you make it sound like:
- Boolean Variables
- If Then Conditional Statements
- Menu Dialogue Choices
- Jump Statements
Are complicated. THEY'RE NOT. The above is NEWBIE stuff for Ren'py. You literally learn how to do the above stuff in the first 3 hours you learn Ren'py. It's REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY EASY.
I'm looking at CheekyGimp's code right now. This is just rudimentary, basic Ren'py stuff. The guy who designed Ren'py made learning Ren'py as easy as possible. You guys act like it's some big deal, IT'S NOT.
Guys. Listen. I'm not alone with my complaints. READ THE REVIEWS. Other people complain about it too. I'm not this lone voice, tons & tons of other people are complaining about the forced sexual scenarios which could've been easily avoided with a few lines of code.
You guys are stuck in 2016. It's 2023, wake up. Forced sexual scenarios are DUMB, unles it's a kinetic novel or there are only 1-2 women npc in the game.
I'm trying to grab you guys by the shirt collar and drag you into the current year.
Okay, thank you for hearnig me out. Cheekygimp thank you for hearing me out. I will no longer respond to this thread as to not spam. But you guys are wrong, 100% wrong if you think the fixes that are needed are complicated. They're not, they can be done in less than a day, and Cheekygimp's Reviews would jump to perfect 5 stars, and his revenue would go up, but you guys give him such bad advice. So sad. This game had so much potential.
Sweet Baby Jesus!
The funny thing is, he doesn't even get how incredibly entitled he acts.
Dude, there is a point where giving advice or criticism just turns into trying to tell the dev how to make his game.
With all this BS about how easy it is and claiming that it would make the game so much more successful (why? Because you think so? Is there any proof, any game you can show us, which offers what you want and is significantly more successful than WTHI?), you have crossed that line about 5 posts back.
And I am a person who is perfectly fine with giving dev's criticism, even harsh criticism. Incidentally, I just had this discussion in regard to other games, there is a huge misconception among a large group of gamers and that is that player agenda comes before everything.
It's important, no one is going to argue that, but it's not the only important thing in a game. The story the dev wants to tell is at least as important, in some cases even more important.
I understand the Zarah bit, even if I don't agree with it and kind of find it funny that you think a woman actively trying to get into bed with the MC is acting like a guy, but fair, others have expressed similar attitudes. If you ask me, I am pretty sure that Cheeky will play down or change that one scene anyway, to keep in line with Zarah's character as she is shown later in the game. Just like with Monica's drinking. It's kind of weird, but personally IDK if I will be so happy with those changes, I kind of liked the idea that Monica needed something to make her act on her feelings at first, after all, she already stopped it in the game.
In the case of the other women, there are three main love interests, three women the game is centred about and those are Monica and her daughters (not saying other women aren't important, but those three are the base relationship angle of the game), what you do not want is to be locked out of these relationships because you make a few wrong choices, thus there is redundancy and options to change your mind. If you aren't at all interested in one of them, I understand that this could be a bit jarring, but hardly to the extent you react. Let's be serious here, I hope you realize that this kind of strong reaction is a rarity, not the norm, right? You are overreacting, immensely.
That's your prerogative, but you spin it as if that is what any normal guy playing this game would act like.
And sorry, but if you know so much about Ren'py, and you like the rest of the part of the game as much as you do, seriously dude, just make a mod for it yourself. You could even share it, and people who have similar sensibilities might thank you for it.
Personally, I'm afraid enough that with the re-do and the loss of Ace and with episode 24 being pushed back further and further, this game might never be finished, so the last thing I would want is to add any more to Cheeky's and Cell's workload.
And while I don't claim that's how the majority of players feel, I think there are many who share that sentiment.
