Please, enlighten me on your understanding of how this game needed to be remastered because of Patreon's rules.

OK, that is the actual reason he remastered the game, but what do "Patreon's increasingly draconian rules" have to do with it?

I actually think the remaster was quite necessary. The old version was subpar. The difference between the first and latest episodes is huge!

That was a quality issue, which I dont think anyone argues.
But a few posts ago, it was suggested (also) due to Patreon, which I dont believe is accurate.

I agree on the necessity, i still think that reworking all the game one chapter away from the completition was a dick move. The only one reason why they did it is because if the game was completed already the hype for the rework would have been a lot inferior. And all time fine, both freeloaders like me and dutiful paying patreon had several years artificially added to wait for the end of the game.

Patrons could unsub until the Steam release if they didn't want to support the rework. Everything was explained clearly.

I'm not saying they couldn't, but they had payed dearly altready to be suddenly deprived of the game's conclusion which was postponed by years if it will ever come, the game can still get abandoned.
And i don't think you can get refunds from Patreon.
Glad not to have been a patreon.

I think the issue some people have is that they have to wait for the last episode, regardless of subbing or not. But they don't care if Cheeky makes money in the interim.

My request for an answer was specific to this post:
That seems to imply that a remaster was needed to remove something that Patreon prohibits (incest, sex with underage characters, non-consensual sex, etc.). Are you saying that Cheeky made a post saying that he remastered the game for that reason?

I see, so many respond to a previous thread here it was hard to follow all diverging reply’s. It seems you responded to that post asking the member a question, I was providing areas where to find the answer to that question. I guess you do not need the answer but wanted the member to stat their own misinformation. So you dont nee to know that the original post for the planed re do said

“In addition to finishing the game, we had a lot of plans for 2023 such as re-doing earlier art (and adding animations), correct many minor script errors, flesh out some of the earlier scenes and improve some of the solo-girl paths with more content, add sfx/music to ALL episodes and make a number of much-needed improvements to the game design/GUI/system and also release on Steam.”

That first image of Monika and the two girls looks like a 'died and gone to heaven' scenario...
It implies nothing of the sort, it is a clear statement.
Many devs are abandoning Patreon as rules tighten for all sorts of reasons.
If you want to see what isn't there go right ahead. not my problem.
