There's definitely more than just one rat. It's why they should just shit can their entire QC team and find new people that they can hopefully trust better. It's going to leak here at some point but they should at least be able to trust their beta testers won't be the ones to do that or at least not until they've got a full release out for their patrons. This "joke" was more of an insult than anything. The fact it's being pointed out as such on a pirate forum is ironic.

WOW... I have nothing to say...I have worked in the QC department for 3 years after College I know how egotistical you developers can get.
But why call a beta a 50% script missing build?... Why send a build that is half done to be tested QC?...If he QC encounters a bug or a glitch how will they report if they don't know 50 % of the script is missing? Will it not make it hard for you as a developer to correct whit an incomplete build. Anyway, what is a ALFA BUILD for you?

Or are you referring to 50% script as on Dialogue ? because that is sadder...All my QC career was reporting dialogue bugs in my native language

Obviously, it wasn't a complete build of the beta. Whoever leaked it, removed most of the files like the executable and the game folder files so nobody could actually play it on here and left an image of "the game is better" in the main folder as a ridiculous joke. Guess you missed the majority of what people have been talking about huh? Instead of bothering to read about what happened, you chose to just insult the dev? Not a good look doing that. This wasn't on the developer, this was on one or more of the beta testers that decided to be douchebags as an april fool's joke.

The pirate code is "you don't steal from a fellow pirate or all loot should be equally distributed "This Honnor among thieves is very stupid... I mean how can you call yourself a pirate and attack someone that is doing what a pirate should do "stealing content" you are a hypocrite if you attack me.

And that "unplayable test version" you are speaking about, how do you know it's unplayable. You only got the dev's word to back that up...but you don't know that for sure. You can see they are mad because of the leak and want to delay the game because of it .A leak is not someone sabotaging the code and now we need extra time to make things right. If they were professional they will have kept their mouth shut to release the game when it was ready and dealt whit the QC guy in private.

This is really disappointing if the dev has this kind of mentality when something stupid "Leaking a build" happens.

A professional is someone who knows what they are talking about from experience.
This test build is a joke that contains no images or even a working executable... and even if it did, it also is lacking other key files that would be necessary to even start the test version of the episode. And the reason we are active and vocal about this even before we confirmed it was a joke, is because we have in the past released a public test build to our patreons before (that also filtered to here) and learned what a mistake it was and learned from it. Even with the vast feedback, the headaches it caused for us and players alike down the road wasn't worth it.

A professional also cares about his reputation with the community and that his word means something (even among pirates and privateers)! Getting peoples hopes up we had a release and wasting their mega cap in several cases could reflect negatively on us as some sort of publicity stunt that is both foolish and beneath us.

A professional also cares that when his trust is extended, it is returned. We have maintained a small, tight nit group of testers and occasional contract temps, but at the same time allowed some top tier patreons to rotate in as part of our tier benefits. Which is something we have to reconsider on top of likely dismissing several innocent testers who just happened to be new. All this means that now in the crunch time before an update we are going to have that many fewer people beta testing. Which means it could take longer or that it could have more bugs on release.

None of this is beneficial to anyone in our view. Now tell me more about what it means to be professional. If you find one that is.

Next time, each tester should have a different version of the game. Make them different with an inconspicuous markup in the code so you can tell them apart. Or by marking them on some renders. Anything so you can tell them apart. Even if it leaks a second time, you'll be able to identify the rat.

Cheeky came to the same conclusion. Although it is definitely annoying and time consuming.

Exactly, also a joke is supposed to make you laugh, but this is as much the fault of whoever released this and the "moderator" that put the links in this thread to waste those people's bandwidth.

(I was lucky to look for mod walkthrough and did see it was an "Aprils" joke, then read the forum, but I will be pissed off if I had wasted 3.7gb though not with the devs, because the only ones that can add links here are moderators/staff and uploaders so the fault should be theirs.)

Its funny how this "joke" just changed my mind on playing one on my son today April fools day. but I was not duped as I first checked the link for the update and as a patron of the game I want a full game not a test. and you whom have done this do not understand how hurtful it is as we love the game and would wait as long as we needed to get a full update. your pleasure may have been sated with this but you villainy is that of a viper your need for attention that of a gold digger. and as in the game you too will be dumped as soon as the MC learns who you are. or may be treat you like Natasha during the pool table scene. just maybe.

IMO it is making this site look worse. As Decks000 points out is not a good look in any direction. And the longer it remains the more it looks bad for F95.

The professional way to handle this is. First do not make any statement about your inner circle problems...This is a "PIRATE PORN SITE" or more like "Patreon 1.5" now. Second, never say that you delay something because of your inner circle problems. Three this is a "PIRATE PORN SITE" or more like "Patreon 1.5" nobody cares about your reputation or inner circle problems all of us are here to pirate the game"IF the game is good people will become patreons even whit out your exclusive tier list" And whit a little bit of luck leave this site and defend the game on Patreon like a good contributor will do"

I Forgot about 4 ....The leak is more a F95 Problem because they future it whit out testing it ...I do hope this is a 1 Aprils joke and not the norm on this site ... I sure some people test this thing when they feature it .

I do respect what you guys are doing...I will buy the game on steam when it's out or will but the 5 dollars to share on the site.

Many others are pissed off that they wasted download resources. Depends on the person but some are on a budget. Ergo why they may frequent a Pirate site. And it only takes a few reads to see other discuss it is unplayable or it corrupted their save. This impacts the credibility of the Devs. I fully understand why they can be pissed. It also forces them to deal with an issue that should not have happened. The F95 accomplice has also made this site look foolish. Not the best idea to attract donors.

There are other reasons depending on the persons POV. Some are just getting a chuckle. That is fine. However, who are you to try and deny anyone else their POV. You have yours. IMO it is BS, but you get to have it. Please have less of the 'holier than thou' routine and more of the 'It sucks for some of you but, I think it is funny' routine. Just saying.

You're actually saying this garbage after pages of pages have proven how many pirates here support the developer over what's happened? I can't even begin to say how absurd it is everything you just said there. The fact they're interacting with people not just on patreon but on a site like this goes to prove how much they care about their community that supports them and even those that can't for whatever reasons one might have. Why? Because it brings their page more attention and when people can support them financially, some actually do. Maybe speak for just yourself rather than trying to speak for an entire forum. Who made you the mascot of f95? Not a damn soul.
