I looked into this on steam and I warn others now its programmed so bad it can crash your PC apparently

I cant imagine how. Code that is really bad shouldnt be able to crash any PC, unless its malicious in nature, in which case your anti-virus should kick its ass and not allow it to launch/download.

I think it probably would just crash the game itself....

The gore and horror tags come from getting either of the 2 bad ends. Had 0 of the issues people are bringing up, fast launch, fast saves, no crashing

I feel I need to edit this review to mention some new, potentially troubling developments. Two weeks ago on the KS, pureworks said they would take the Steam version down. They say they had reached an agreement with JAST to retranslate it and were considering whether to go down that route. However, JAST employees in their Discord claim there's been no agreement in place; it seems pureworks lied as some kind of damage control after the initial flak this game is getting. (Initially, pureworks had also mentioned potentially bringing Sekai Project in to republish, but SP employees claim this is false as well)

That flak includes the fact that they basically MTL'd the non-English western languages. Backers who chose the Itchio copy option were told that there would not be a DRM-free release of the game and were given Steam keys instead.

Since then, they've been silent for the last two weeks. I have to wonder if they've ghosted the project. FWIW, my initial impressions after the first 15-20mins is that the English version is okay. If they had just kept to English and not lied to backers about JAST's involvement and the DRM-free backer option, I'd probably keep this review as a (cautious) recommendation. But there's been too many shady things going on these last few weeks."

There's actually a chance that the cracked version runs better than the steam one. As part of the cracking process I decrypted the game's archives and removed the custom code that would normally decrypt files on the fly. So in this version files can be directly loaded from disk and any possible errors in the decryption code are side-stepped.
