Do people in sex games communities all run potato PCs? I swear every time someone mentiones UE4 or UE5 someone starts complaining their PC will melt and that they need to steal PC from NASA or Area 51. It doesn't cost much to build a decent rig with used parts.

I think I'm the only person in the world that is glad sex games are finally starting to catch up in complexity and fidelity to AAA games.

Wild Life is not ideally optimized for performance. Lot of people in this thread mentioned issues with low fps on decent computers. With the migration to UE5 it is only fair to expect the same people to be more nervous about the performance issues. Some even reported that powerhouse GPUs like Nvidia 3080 and above can't give stable 60 fps in the Wild Life. Maybe that NASA computer joke wasn't really a joke after all..

ha, but I thought it was my card that is so weak 3060ti, although if you throw in a whole Obj mansion, it will slow down, even with zero lag obj too

I have a gaming laptop that can handle most triple A games just fine. Is just that since UE5 is relatively new (thus not optimized) and WL is somewhat on the resource heavy games category (as well as not optimized but for other reasons), the combination is somewhat concerning XD

Personally I dont think my laptop wont be able to handle it but like, I can feel its gonna strugle to do so.

The issue clearly is not UE4 or UE5, we're still in beta, it's normal for performance to not be optimial at this stage.
Optimization is one of the last things to be done during game development.
I mean no. Every dev does it differently, but you absolutely can optimize the game as you're developing it and it isn't unheard of. Either way there's no law or rule that dictates you should optimize at the end only.
Personally considering they're SELLING a product I'd expect some optimization at least, otherwise it's just egregious.

PS. You know what optimization is - it's when your PC can't handle a round anus and it becomes square.

PS2. Free Tip - turn off all anti-aliasing in the nvidia panel - less blur + higher performance.

We are not selling anything yet. We are providing the in-development builds to our supporters as a way for them to see where the project is going.

The game isnt in Beta, it isnt even in Alpha yet - thats something you could call it once the main game world has working combat and at least a few quests.

The game isnt optimized. Thats something we are still planning to do further down the line. If you cant play it now, try again later.

To many gamedev create penetration animation frame-by-frame, since objects are right inside each other, is there really no tool for auto interaction between objects? (In VAN it seems automatized.)

I'm not looking to criticize your business at all, I think you guys are alright, but the moment you take money from people and give them a build in exchange then that's the same as selling a product to my eyes. That's a pretty important distinction I make and no amount of "it's not even alpha" will change that :)

VAM operates on different principles, it can use keyframes like traditional animations but it can also be animated using physical interactions between objects, this however requires very precise and thus taxing collision calculations, something that can be done on CPU easily but with large hit to performance or on GPU, which isn't as easy but doable (see Nvidia PhysX or any other GPU accelerated physics calculations).

Limited collisions could be applied to the objects that are most likely to interact but then you'd have to restrict some motions to not ruin immersion when you notice you can clip bodies through each other if they touch in places where collissions aren't applied, lastly if no constraints are implemented it's very easy to break those physics, resulting in jittery motion, objects poping out from their intended location (for example a penis poping out from vagina through the body or just being rejected or just wrong collission calculation resulting in the model stretching so bad it breaks all physics and crashes the game, happens with VAM and other soft body physics games like beamNG, stuff getting stretched so thin it stops being visible).

Overall doable, but not easy.

also, will the new update allow you to have sex w/ sandbox spawned NPCs? Like in the same way you would fuck NPCs spawned with the T key?
