NOTE: This post is intended to inform potential new patreons what kind of developer is in charge of the sandbox through light humor, because I don't want to come off too serious, it's just a game FFS. It's imperative new patreons know what kind of developer is in charge of the sandbox.

If they actually listened to me, I shudder to think how much more $$$ they'd make.

My ideas cater to 99% of players who want to JACK OFF.

ICCH_HOW(lead dev of sandbox) ideas cater to like 1% of players who want to build HUGE mega cities and turn the lights on & off with a button press, or people who just want to CODE FOR HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS, and will probably never jack off to the garbage they coded, lol.

I truly believe ICCH_HOW doesn't realize that people are literally stroking their cocks while playing the sandbox, I don't think he knows that, lol. Someone should tell him in a nice way.

Hypothetical Scenario

Anon: "ICCH_HOW, you're a great programmer bro, but did you know that people using the sandbox are playing with one hand?"

ICCH_HOW: "Oh really? That makes no sense. When I'm using the sandbox I use both hands at all times. Why would anyone only use the sandbox with one hand? That's stupid. I programmed the sandbox to require both hands at all times, because that is the most efficient way to code using both hands."

Anon: "DUDE. *maintains composure* Uhh, yea bro, check this out, it will blow your mind: "

ICCH_How: "So you're telling me, that when people use Wild Life Sandbox, they are doing this thing called... how do you say it? Mastor Bation? But, do you think they'll want to learn to code while performing that immoral act, you know, for the challenge?"

Anon: "... awww come on man..... *facepalm*"

ICCH_How: "How about this. Why don't I program a system where you can simulate the big bang?"

Anon: "What?!"

ICCH_How: "Yea, the sandbox will be so amazing, you'll be able to program, using LUA and the event system, to create a giant explosion in the void of 3d space. After the explosion, the matter will fly outwards from the epicenter of the explosion, but you'll have a checkbox that allows you to disable or enable DARK MATTER, if disabled, the matter from the explosion will naturally attract back towards each other, instead of continuing to expand, until all that matter comes back into a single form, and the big bang happens again due to the gravitational forces. All those matter particles will require lots of VRAM so everyone will need to buy a RTX 5090 32gb, because we'll never fix the blurry texture problem. Oh, the event system will be tied to each matter particle, allowing you to control it, shaping it into the features you want for the sandbox. What do you think?"

Anon: "BRO, please. Can you just allow the Add Pose character to walk or at least fix it so the camera doesn't spawn inside Max's head when you possess him in first person? Or how about letting us have Maya sit on a couch? How about a UI button that makes Maya dance, so I have the mouse in my one hand and my dick in the other?"

ICCH_How: "I can't wait to code this big bang explosion and simulate astronomical forces of gravity using Unreal Engine, this is gonna look so good on my resume when I finally apply for that job I want at Bethesda."

_______________

I"m sorry, hahah I can't help it. hahahah. :KEK:

Also, I don't think ICCH_HOW knows what click optimization is, and if you try to tell him, AdeptusSteve gets upset and feels the need to protect ICCH_HOW from criticism.

ICCH_How can't seem to figure out how to program a system that minimizes clicks, that's something every junior level UI programmer learns, but he hasn't figured it out yet. I hope he does though, lol.

CLICK OPTIMIZATION
1 CLICK - PERFECT
2 CLICK - GREAT
3 CLICK - Oh oh, pushing it
4 or more CLICKS - YOU'RE FIRED

After a while it becomes so frustrating when you watch an rookie programmer trying to program his way out of the paper bag he's permanently stuck in, you just explode, and they think I'm the bad guy.
What I can say with certainty is the optimization of mouse clicks. I've taken 2 web design courses, one basic and one a little more advanced, but it was all HTML and CSS and the use of various software such as Photoshop, Animate and Illustrator, so I can't really say that I know how to develop (at most a website, but a video game) and I was taught that optimizing clicks is important.

In fact, to know how to do it, you first need to understand what type of audience you want to target, and what type of user your site will appeal to.

Then we need to understand what this type of audience is going to want when they visit our website, and what they're going to want to find and search for.

And once we've understood that, we need to minimize the number of clicks, so that the audience can find what they're looking for quickly and easily, with as few clicks as possible. If the user doesn't find what he's looking for, or doesn't find it easily, he'll leave the website, and lose a likely customer.

This theme also works for video games.

so what's the difference between the UE5 and UE4? just contents?
Amount of content, there's actually a little bit of story to play through, newer engine. Main thing though is that there is more content on UE5 version, and it's the most up to date version that is being worked on

That's a lot of words only to show that you don't know what the purpose of the sandbox is and belittling the effort put into features that isn't even the core experience of the game.

Like, functionally, the sandbox is feature complete. At a point (and still possible) it wasn't going to ship with the Steam copies of the game. That they are still adding functions to it should be taken with grace.

TLDR :

" You just don't understand game development!

It's been MONTHS and that guy is still going on about how he has to click too many things in order to fap in a development build sandbox mode for a game that is still being worked on. This isn't minecraft creative mode, it's basically a game engine with advanced tools to make your own creatives.
Optimization doesn't happen this early in develpment.

Does anyone have any idea when the game might go into early access on Steam?
I understand many developers are more profitable to slowly drag out the development of the game for years receiving donations.

Bruh this is supposed to be a story driven RPG not VAM. Also the sandbox interface is way more bloated than it used to be and they've gone through like three different animation systems that have all been rolled into each other over time which makes it even messier.

How come after 7 years this game is stil just a scene viewer...?
I rember thinking of downloading this game 5 years ago, but thinking "meh i'll give it some more time.".
Now 5 years later i checked it out..
And, yup, it's just a scene viewer, pick character, watch one of 10 animations, maybe move some placeble objects...
That's it...
How the hell is that 7 years of game dev time...XD
