some good games get destroyed by sex minigames before... and it wasn't only renpy games.

it always sound bad to mix sex and minigames together. i m not the only one thinking that.
Good thing if i m wrong, but like i said, we never know... It's better to expect the worse all the time, there is less risk to be dissapointed.

Why does it sound bad those minigames bring the interactive way to experience the sex with the character inside of the Story progression instead of just seeing a simple passive scene play out you are playing the scene.
It depends on how you realize this granted it is currently in a very early stage.

As a Full Sandbox interaction wouldn't really fit into the Story Progression you need a more linear path but still grant some interactivity

I would find it rather more disturbing if someone would say hey lets do Quick time Sex scenes, tough maybe it's even interesting to use the same Console concept just for a good bit of variety as well im pretty sure steven could work out some excellent quick time event scene playouts like smash the button the right time to anal fuck or miss it

Im not sure if you understand in Minigames something like a Simon Game where solving it the sex Plays out that would be really awkward

I don't really follow development of this game too closely, I download newest build like once per year. Also I don't want to be toxic or attack devs but from my perspective, looking back and checking change log... well I must agree that patrons should expect more. With serious and constant founding they are really still just a sandbox with some minimal gameplay. I get it that it takes time but looking how things are going we are looking for 10+ years project... Even for small team that too much time for things to go south somehow. And then it all will go to waste.

What I fear is happening here is that devs are OK with that development way and people accept it because they do not see any way to change it. That is sad because it clearly can become so much more then 90% of games here.

What is most tragic here is that devs are really also hurting themselves. With slow but steady raising of porn games as major game type in recent years it is clear there is space for good comapnies that give us high quality porn games. They could have been one of early stars in that field and profit from that in coming years by having such project completed under their belt. It would give them resources, experience, community and potential investors. If they do not motivate themselfs and finish this game in coming years as full, high quality games others will take their place and we will end with another uncompleted wasted gem to be forgoten.

Yeah, instead of promising this grand, majestic fuckventure through an alien land, and subsequently only showing off... sandbox maps for years, they really should've started on a smaller scale, maybe 3-5 hours worth of content that you can play and finish in your spare time. Maybe features that warrant an extra playthrough or two, like a New Game+ that makes it easier to find hidden scenes or adds new scenes that weren't previously accessible.
Hell, they could've even capitalized on the sandboxes that they already have and made a Western-developed alternative to 3D character creators & posers like Koikatsu or Honey Select (2). They'd just have to make things a little more "normal" to make it more universally-usable, regular environments and houses and the like. It could even be a worthy competitor to something like Daz3D and potentially avoid the uncanny valley faces that plagues nearly everything made with Daz.

Also I happened to gander at the Patreon a little more and this release plan is some of the dumbest shit I've ever heard/seen.

Hey, you know all those weird animal things they keep adding sex scenes for? They won't even be in the actual release! Nope, gotta wait for it to come out separately as DLC despite it already being a part of the fucking game. Even if it's free that's just plain ludicrous, especially when it's so heavily advertised as a core part of what's already been in the game so far.

i make it simple to not goes too much offtopic.

people mostly play this kind of game for fapping.

now if you ask thoses people to fap and play a minigame in same time... well... it suck. Even if we have 2 hands, some people may get in troubles.
beside that, its better to just fap thinking about what you actually fap, and not fapping while trying to break your neurones toresolve a minigame.

Am starting to see that this is absolutely going no where, couple of months for some bug fixes, where is the meat of the game like quests, enemies and lands? Starting to notice that pattern lets do small bug fixes but who cares when we finish the game could be in 5 years

There's a reason why big game studios usually announce their game project around the end of development; so you don't get to see the 5 years it took them to get the game into any playable state.

You can relax, I tried all "minigames" in the game atm and while I can say that the devs made a very poor choice of name for their new storymode sex system but its not what you fear it would be.

tbh, this game should focus more on the sex sandbox game side, rather than quests/missions. It's a sex game after all. I am fine with that, if you want quests, there are tons of games with them, don't wanna be rude just gotta voice that, it seems everyone is into quest-style gameplay, but that's not reality at all.

need to keep in mind that AAA company have a "budget" that can reach millions $$ to build the game.
also rarely see big game studio working with less than 20-30 people minimum, 24/7, with years of experience behind them.

sure wild life team have experience and such, sure they work on it 24/7 (maybe not ), but they dont have the millions budget to make the game.

difference is, theses big game company have a limited budget, if they go out of it, they fail. they also have ETA at base (even if it's not mentionned publicly, they can't take forever to do the game and release it, hence situation like cyberpunk 2077 unfinished hot shit.)

wild life team have no ETA, and probably dont plan any of it, because the long they take, the more money they got from it. instead of a limited millions$ budget, they got infinite budget spread. so the game could take 5 years, as much as it could take the whole century to come out. and they aren't 30 to work on it.
they also didn't advertise their game publicly as much as a "normal" (non porn) game will do.


so, just saying, you can't compare this with big game company. it's totally not comparable. it will be like comparing space x with my whole neighbors building a cola-mentos upside down giant plastic bottle rocket to reach the moon.

While project duration on patreon is technically 5 years for first two years it was more a pitch trying to get support then time spent developing the game.
Rough estimate of average support from patreon per month :
1st year - <100$
2nd year - <10k
3nd year first half - < 10k
3nd year second half ~40k
4th year ~60k
5th year ~95k
Building a team is not something that can be done in a month and given the nature of patreon support you need to give yourself a head room, so making a 40k you can't build a team that you need to pay 40k. When they jumped to 40k$ they probably spent like half year building up a team so that means game is only two years in development.
Next issue is upscaling the team as support increased , finding the talent.

What budget do open world TPP games with action combat have ? 10m$? Maybe they can do it with less BUT EFFICIENCY is the key here. Team that has worked together on many games and has a resource base from old games that they can reuse even partially is so much more efficient that is not even funny. I would go to say that newly formed team needs AT LEAST TWICE the amount of funding compared to established studio.

When i first saw the promotional video for Wild Life my reaction was along the lines "cool idea , won't work". Seeing the project get as much support as it has now ... well damn. I'm rooting for them but it is still looong way from home. Many people i think expect Skyrim with sex, but that is just not gonna happen. Another 5 years with 100k+/month wouldn't be enough. The best case scenerio in my opinion is if they create world, combat systems, resources (animations, voices what not) that people that then could build on and create their own stories maybe even whole games. Think RPGM in 3D and action combat. But i'm not sure if that is even allowed under unreal license.

The funny part about this post is that it's the exact opposite of what happens. Devs announce games in the conceptual stages and go years without gameplay. See: Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI. The one and only recent example of what you're talking about that I'm aware of is Fallout 4.

Nope undoable under Unreals License you would run into a lot of trouble with your lawyers releasing that, all these changes could only exist inside your Studios Main Branch.
They would be seen as pure competition publicly, thus why many really good devs avoid it for now.
If you release under Unreal you become part of Unreal and it will be hard to get out of it once you in.
So if this would be your Goal to create Unreal is no good choice under it's of course IP protecting terms.
All your Internal Developments could be rather claimed by Epic then in the worst case.

Anyone can tell me how to fix this please? These 2 files just disappear every time I download the game and I've tried to download 3 different versions of the game but it's still the same 2 errors. I'm pretty sure my antivirus isn't touching them and no one else seems to be having this problem.
