Sorry but comparing these entirely different projects and making assumptions based on that isnt constructive criticism.constructive criticism
This argument is being brought sadly often and its very incorrect. Show me one game where every character is an entirely unique new model with different proportions and shapes and textures and nothing is reused.WL really only has like 10 characters, the rest are just retextures.
bruh 5 hours , can someone summarize it whatever they discussed? Also, if you are still wondering if this game will stay a just a scene viewer, look at this:You must be registered to see the links
Just because a lot of games do this doesn't make it incorrect, they have about 10 different character models meaning entirely different meshes for the humans and kerpali's, the rest are just different textures applied over that same mesh and that is the reason why a lot of them share the same animations. This argument is being brought sadly often and its very incorrect. Which characters do this? Show me proof. Lets get some facts out.the rest are just different textures applied over that same mesh
You might want to check the google doc and scroll to the right. There is a section which says something like "shared animations". And those animations are shared, because they use the same basemodel.Which characters do this? Show me proof. Lets get some facts out.
They use the same skeletal model, that doesnt mean the same polygon model. Just look at Rhino and Minotaur, does that look like the same model? Or Karra and Zuri, also very different looking for being the same skeleton. Shey and Jadeen also look like completely different characters. The pigman and the goatman also look totally different. Bol and Frank, different person. Maya and Alissa too. If feel like you want to call those the same character ok go ahead but factually you would be wrong. You might want to check the google doc and scroll to the right. Sure, but i think the point was, that if you start with the same skeletal model, you have an easier time adjusting already made animations to a character that just looks different. So they are the same character on that skeletal level, but they just look different and depending on how you want to define what differs the characters, then you can either go by looks or you can go down to the base level (as in the skeleton). At least i think that is why some people say WL got just a handful of characters, while others would argue, that there are more. They use the same skeletal model, that doesnt mean the same polygon model. Wonderful. Single Player is with a human PC only, main release won't even have Kerpali stuff, the Kerpali addon is supposed to be "free" but the wording is vague and it mentions patrons (why would they mention them if it's free for everyone?), Sandbox Mode is "Patreon Exclusive"... I had already assumed I would barely play SP if at all and just use the game as a fancy animation player since I'm only here for the anthro stuff, but this is still even more of a letdown.Big post about the lore and the story of the game posted on Patreon around 40 minutes ago.

Okay, so, I'm probably just going to be told to "fuck off, watch it yourself" and with reason, but if anyone did watch it and feels generous, have they mentioned what their plans are for Kerpali and whether they will be actually playable at some point? Also, if you are still wondering if this game will stay a just a scene viewer, look at this:You must be registered to see the links
Skip the first 44:30minutes that just looks like stream warmup. They talk about the game lore and the featuers planned and answer all sorts of questions that you may also have had.
How often does it need repeating until the idiots get it: Throwing more money at something won't make it magically faster! Especially with crowd-funded stuff, where the support can vary. The company behind WildLife already employs over a dozen people, has its own office space and dedicated positions working on different parts of the game, interact with the community and organize the company. You have no idea what they are doing behind the scenes, so how could you possibly think you're able to accurately judge the day-to-day progress they're making. AdeptusSteve expressed time and again that he wants to create the best looking game out there, with no clipping and top-notch animation work. One would think that with that kind of goal, it'd be obvious that they prioritise making sure their back-end is in order before diving into the creation of the story. In the end, it remains as it always has been: If you're unhappy with the progress they're making: stop pledging. But don't come here comparing two entirely different games as if you know what you're talking about.Wildlife already got more money than Subverse. Yet, they only have sex scenes and no gameplay, waifu bonding, etc.
I have already said it: Make it a game, not a scene selector. If you tried to read and understand instead of fanboying the shit out of the game you probably would have understood the first time I said it.joethebeast
Now if you had to give REAL constructive criticism beyond "improve performance, add story and quests and gameplay, fix bugs and finish the game" what would it be?
Games are for consumers. I'm a consumer. I understand what I want. They don't give me what I want. I complain. But don't come here comparing two entirely different games as if you know what you're talking about.
