I just tested downloading the latest Wildlife update, so here's the verdict:
Ouch, on my workstation (4 graphics cards, etc.)...
The General map is lagging, Steve?

You should know that nothing lags on a machine like this; the previous one ran better...

I tested it on my neighbor's dream i7, same problem: the 32GB of RAM takes a long time to discharge when the game is closed, and the shaders are doing weird things on the horizon.
Well, I'll just have to live with it. Same with my guitar when the strings are worn out. ;) :cautious:
Why do you go on ranting about here every so often over flaws of a game that is heavily work in progress and stoop to low-level insults toward the devs. and other content creators? (I am sure the way you have been conducting and advertising yourself here over the past few months, avid observers would have no problem classifying you as a narcissistic, self-serving hypocrite)

The official Wild Life Youtube Channel has update status videos with information on the very topic your argument challenges and as to why average performance is the way it currently is. Not even a high end rig with a RTX 5090 could currently run the story mode at stable 60fps but that will eventually improve as development progress moves to the final stages. Patience, Padawan.

Chris, any chance for a Denna/Maya based nun, Demon and new mummy release? Your teasers were awesome.

The new WL Update really can cause surpising graphic problems. With sharpness setting on 5.33 (thanks for the hint!), reflection on objects or plants like grass now show massive artifacts. Sparkling dots, dotted lines and sometimes rows of dotted lines... (HeavenlySword - this is no dev bashing but a hint. Clearly WL is work in progress and in my case the artifacts are gone when sharpness is stet back to presets.)

Well i wrote "insult", not "bashing" and there were at least 12 instances in which he indulged. Now, imagine if the devs were to optimize the game builds every 2 months as they iterate and how long it would take and push back the planned release date. And to be fair, those issues you mention were already building upon before the October 2025 Test build. In other words: Overall performance was wanting long before that.

I am glad you found an acceptable compromise to improve your personal experience.
Some props, like certain bush types and grass types have missing textures and missing alpha maps, causing artifacts and texture flickering. Turning off Virtual Shadow Maps can help eliminate some of the annoying distractions the eye tends to wander off to while traversing. Adding and editing LOD-related values in the .ini settings, aswell as turning off lumen reflections, can help, too. They will downgrade the visual experience, however. Afaik, most of these issues have already been reported as bugs in the official discord, so at least the devs are aware of it and they are working on new and better environmental and foliage assets and technical improvements. So maybe all that stuff will be completely replaced in future updates. And there are many more graphical issues to fix and improve, some tied to Unreal Engine 5 issues and limitations, some tied to game development.

Personally, i see the early access to in progress story-mode as an opportunity to experience something what is and what could become. A journey the devs freely share with us as they hone it to something worthwhile.

can only agree with you, that's why most of the main content creator, and Steve now ignore this guy.

I wouldn't pay attention to Khuraz too, I wouldn't be surprised if that would be chris's second account, if you check, Khuraz only interact with chris or related things to him, and the pattern is always the same, chris post soemthing and few hours later Khuraz answer him to thanks and congrat him.
What annoy me, is chris is kinda spamming this thread and there isn't any more room for talking about this game

Hi HeavenlySword,

you got directly to the heart of the matter: Personally, i see the early access to in progress story-mode as an opportunity to experience something what is and what could become. A journey the devs freely share with us as they hone it to something worthwhile.

Adeptus Steve always plays with open cards. While developing an open world game (a giantic task) this also leads to uncountable comments by nitpickers, who write endless laments. Such an open world WIP is full of constructing sites and empty spaces. It is much easier to create a setting in a spaceship or bunker system. Because you only wolud see finished rooms and corridors and not all the other parts in early stages of construction. And every update only has to open some new doors.

In the previous UE 4 versions you could fly around with Maya to unfinished locations. Just for fun. Now there is a map allowing Max to fast travel and visit construction sites. I like that, but will wait playing the story mode until the game is finished 2026 or eraly 2027 (which seems very relistic). The progress alway is clearly visible to everyone, who want to see and not to rant. James Cameron, also very dedicated to his masterpieces, did work on Avatar 3 for more than 8 years. With a very higher budget than the WL team. Good things come to those who can wait. In the meantime we enjoy the mighty sandbox to create own scenes or maps. Who will ask for more?

Hi Minervha, I am no second account. And no artist or modder. But I have learned, that a personal feud between artists about the value of their art or personal behaviour ist not uncommon. But it is your feud and not mine. So do not drag me into such a game.

The reason why I (and others!) are responding to Chris is very simple. He offers custom mods for free and uses an interesting method by modding textures.
You do not. Of course you are a highly skillied artist. I also like your work. But it seems to me that you mainly want to sell your mods and blame potential competitors. So if you are frustrated because you do not sell as much als you wish, please do not blame me. If you want to carry on with that, I will not answer any further and put you on the black list.

Well, as a casual observer, Chris seems to be one of the most dedicated fans this game has. Bit odd to treat him like he's one of the haters that show up every update to curse Steve's existence.

95% of my works is free but ok, my paywalled content is only for early access.

I won't dive into your ridiculous rage bait "you are frustrated because you do not sell as much as you wish" (but you are right, I should be billionaire by now !)
I've checked the few things chris has shared, and maybe you are satisfied with his work, and that's fine. But defenitly, what he pretend to be able to do or what he can say, is, most of the time, just false, like technicaly false (he said he can automatically transfer cloth from character to character, and that is false, you can't do that, proof that he never shared such feature for several months). So when he's claiming he's making something we've never seen before, magnificient mods, i'm just like "eehhh no", respect other's works, and don't put yourself above them.
You can have whatever 3D skill you want, and share your preset/mods, I don't give a fuck, you don't have to be the best to be proud of what you share, and as long as you are respectful it can only be positiv to share your work.

Block me whatever, I don't really care, I don't talk very much here.

I sincerely invite chris to join Wild Life discord server. I mean he's permanently claiming to love everyone etc... very well, he can officialy share and satisfied thousands people who loves the game with his work.

So many words by someone who pretends to talk not much.
Write about me what you want. I won`t see or read it anymore.
So enjoy a long and happy life. (y)

In Indoor scenes, cinematic camera is showing walls most of the time, is it normal or just me? I'm not sure but I think it randomly started to do that it wasn't like that before

That's funny. I was thinking almost the exact same thing this entire time. But i can't be sure. Kudos for speaking up though.

How do you figure that?...
I would not call myself a dedicated fan but i love the sandbox mode and the creative freedom it provides, as well as the character designs and i know the go-to sites. I reckon a dedicated fan would know the same, which makes me question why they would subsequently decide to share their stuff exclusively on this niche-site instead of the official discord, where the majority of the community mingle and share with each other.
On top of that, the guy goes on waddling about how he's got a say in what mod content gets released on Nexus or loverslab and that he will get the game approved for modding content release on Nexusmods where all requests from other people have failed, calls himself a historic artist who's had to deal with seeing his copyrighted content signed off without prior given consent but on f95 does the same thing by sharing modified assets from big companies without theirs (Capcom, Bethesda, etc.).
He's lucky that they are either unaware or do not care. If they were, the poor guy might as well be drowning in lawsuits and debts.
Concerning the matter of Steve: Why would an artist who adores the game question the development methods of the staff and point out their flaws (Which was absolute BS and far from rational thinking imo) on multiple occasions? - whatever happened to mutual self-respect? - it doesn't add up.
