Im with you in this... Im not touching those spoilers with a ten foot stick, I prefer to enjoy the story inside the game and be surprised....that said I do like to speculate about possible outcomes, a little fan theory to get the creative juices flowing and maaaaaaaybe inspire Victor to do something cool with those ideas.

In my opinion I really like Cecilia as an antagonist, her being the final boss of the story or at least a big scary looming threat that can (and will) surprise you in the worst possible moment is pretty exciting, I want to see more of her yandere antics before she gets finally caught, after all, those flashbacks presented her as real threat and I don't wanna see her "defeated" until much later in the story.

And speaking about her resolution Im focusing on an hypotetical redemption path since I don't think anybody is beyond redemption I think Cecila will be arrested and sent to prison after having a mental breakdown in her final confrontation with Aurum and his gang, maybe if you choose to try to reason with her during other earlier encounters you will plant the seed of doubt and eventually you will be able to punch some sense into her and make her realize she has became a monster even worse than her sister making her finally surrender (after a good bunch of action packed/adrenaline pumping moments of course).

But is already too late, there is already too much blood in her hands to be left free, poor Nook won't be able to swim again without her arms. So she needs to pay for her crimes and go to prison, but you also noticed that she is terrified, not for the prison but for herself, she just realized she had monster in her head that fills her obsession with you and wisper terrible thoughts when sees you hanging out with other girls, now she can see it but is not like she can just make those voices dissapear with a snap, she is afraid she might become a yandere again, after all, deep mental trauma can't realistically be healed with one heart touching conversation inside an old manor on fire. So Aurum decides that he needs to help Cecilia, so he decides he will visit her in the prison every time he can, to talk to her, calm her and try help her fight her demons, he knows he will have to go alone, he can't ask any of the other girls to come with him, after all that happened, some of them hate her guts, and most of them are terribly afraid of her, and with good reason, is not fair for them, you must go alone, you are worried that if you decide to visit her you might end up making her dependent on you for emotional support, being the only light in her life again could fuel her yandere self, but you just can't sit around and leave her alone in a tiny cell, trapped with a demon she can't just stab with a knife, you became terribly afraid she might try to end her life in order to silence those voices, you must do something, even if is not the best solution, is a solution that will keep her alive. You get ready to visit her on the prison after your wounds healed but before you leave the hospital you notice someone waiting outside, is Gillie!, her first victim, the person that should be the most afraid of her is there, and just as she saved you when you were alone and with no ties to the city or the college by introducing you to her friends, she wanted to help Cecilia and become her friend, that's what she really needed, friends, she doesn't need to rely on only one person for emotional stability, when you have friends that support you they can share the load of your burdens, they can all help you fight your demons and you can help them in return, that's what Cecile really needed.

And that's how after a few months of constant visits from Aurum and Gillie, gradually all the girls, one by one, began to join in to the visits as well, and before you noticed it, Cecile managed to become real friends with all the girls and the voices inside Cecilia's head gradually dissipated because she didn't needed to obsess with the one light in her life anymore, there was a whole sky filled with lights now.

lol, I didn't expected to write all that, lol, I was trying to dive a little bit into the psychology of a yandere, and though, usually when people get super obssesed with someone is due to an inate fear of losing it, and that makes sense, Cecile life's was hell with her abusive sister and Aurum was the one who rescued her, he was the only light in her life at her lowest moment, so I though it would be interesting attack that angle, instead of being Aurum the savior I think it would be more appropriate to give her a group of friends that will help her overcome her trauma, of course with Aurum there as well, I also wanted Gillie to be the one who initiated the whole thing because since Gillie was her first victim in the game, it would make the scene more impactful seeing a person who has all the right to hate her being the first one to come to her rescue, and thematically ties amazingly well with how Aurum's life changed when Gillie introduced him to her friends and now she can do that again to save Cecilia.

But hey, that's just a theory, A FAAAAAAAN THEORY, thanks for reading!
I can buy it, as long as she is hospitalized for a few months for the various shots fired by the police when they come to arrest her.

I fully agree. I will speculate & discuss fan-theories all day log.....or at least with all of the free-time I have, that isn't spent delving into the wonderful worlds these devs create....but I avoid all spoilers whenever possible.
I think Cecilia is a fantastic antagonist, and I am really looking forward to seeing her story continue. I am even kind of looking forward to a possible redemption arc. I can forgive her for what she did to me, especially knowing what we know of her background, but she crossed a line. It will take a LOT for me to get past that.

As for the sister; I hope Nook gets to drop her in a pocket dimension based on that "off-limits" room & leave her there permanently.

There is so much to love about this game, holy shit.

It's a slow burn, but the plot and the characters are so delightful that I couldn't care less. In fact, I think the slow burn does a great service to the game. The characters are so good. Absolutely love the goblin girls; easily my favorites, and that says something because I love all of the characters. The cliffhanger wounded my soul. I even like Cecilia; the yandere archetype is done very well here, and she makes for a creepy villain that keeps things a bit tense. Great backstory to her too. I thought Gillie was gonna be a boring character, but wound up having my full attention from the library onward. The dialogue is endearing and mysteries are set up really well to keep the player wondering about things. It's got a nice blend of adventure, romance, slice-of-life, paranormal, comedy, and horror interestingly enough. Almost got me with the jump scare if my volume had been louder, and laughed my ass off at the Dragonball Z Abridged reference. You can tell a great deal of thought and care went into making this. I also enjoy that the protagonist isn't a creeper or a biege wall.

If you're looking for a quick crank, then maybe hold off on this one. That's not to say that the lewd scenes aren't great too though. That birb scene, for example, and the follow-up was A++. Just that it actually has a plot that isn't an afterthought, so it's not just one porn scene to the next.

Some critiques:
- A lot of the characters Gillie introduces you to look way younger than one might expect for college. Nothing wrong with petite characters that have a youthful appearance, but it seemed like there was a chain of them seems a bit jarring. Something also doesn't seem right about Rukah's face to me.
- The art is not bad, but a bit plain. Some additional texture would be cool, but nowhere near a necessity. I will say though that the animations are fantastic.
- How the hell far is the nearest hospital if it couldn't have been there before the player character + Eshtel did everything they did?
- Also, the player character tells Ember that Cecilia started to change when he started to work at the school, but didn't he say earlier that he had tried to move away to here to get away from her?
- There are some instances of the game of the wrong nameplate showing when someone says something.
- The Popularity Weekly thing is not especially clear to me what's going on. It was only later on when the player character acknowledged that the show was breaking the fourth wall that I didn't feel like I was missing something.
- During the BJ scene with Aweebin, I got some kind of error; 'abh1skip' is not defined or something like that.

EDIT: This bug was already fixed in a patch before I made this post.

The scene also shows up in red text as "Image 'gallery_abh1_idle' not found" in Aweebin's gallery rather than the actual scene thumbnail. I thought it was just this scene, but there were others that also had this problem, so I'm not sure if it's related.

All Quiet on the Western Front/2022

Hello, all!

Man, this year has been something else. After the last update, I attempted to start writing for the next one, and just... couldn't. Nothing was coming to me. I realized how much pressure I was putting on myself to get more content out to you folks, and I know y'all don't need me sacrificing my health to get more of the game, so I took a deep breath, leaned back from the keyboard, and just sat back and read all the feedback that came in. And damn, what a lot of feedback. Particularly interesting is who the new most popular character is. That's right, there's someone who has overtaken Nook, and by a long shot, too.

1641058234563.png
Currently, I am still in California visiting family for the holidays for the first time in 10 years. Normally, as a security officer, I'm doomed to work all holidays because sites don't secure themselves. And despite all that this year has taken from me, this break from the game and my job and everything has been nice. Getting out and having a life for a little bit gave me some fresh ideas, and I'm honestly excited to get back to work on World's Crossing in January once I get back home.

1641058250863.png

The biggest problem was that I had so many story pieces that I wanted to move forward, but I wasn't sure where to put them or how I was going to articulate them. But with the introduction of the newest feature (that I am currently learning how to use) and my plans for Optional routes that won't impact the main story, the game is starting to open up and give the player a little bit more control over what happens. Now, as with any new set of features, especially this one I keep mentioning but not revealing, learning to use it will take time. So yes, this is going to slow down the delivery of the next update, and no, I can't give you an estimated release. Y'all have been SCREAMING to have more things to click, more choices to make, more interactivity, and I'm fairly certain one of these two things is the answer.

Thank you all for your love of this game, and keep the feedback and suggestions coming! You're helping shape the future of World's Crossing Academy!

I really like this game and am glad it's getting updates.

But, if I can nitpick a little...some scenes are kind of dark.
A little brighter contrast would be great.

im not really into visual/kinetic novels, but hot damn.... this is a good one!
good thing that the actual novel was mentioned. more reading material for me. ^^
you can see the efford in this VN.
the characte models are awesome, the character have depth and are not just some (sorry) blow-up fuck-dolls.

there are some minor grafic glitches

and 2 or 3 errors massanges.
but thats not a problem, because the VN is not finished. so there is more than enough time to fix it. also the dev said that he/she is new to work with Ren'Py.
if you just want to have a "fap game" (massive amount of sex and little to do/read) than this could not be the game for you.
so... thanks for novel/VN and thanks for uploading it. cant wait for the next update. ^^

Take your time, my dude. Please don't burn yourself out and give up. This game would look sad with an "Abandoned" tag on it.

The Struggle, and the Breakthrough

1643833716556.png

As most of you know, the past half year has been abject hell for me. I'm not saying this for sympathy, just explaining. This next update is gonna take a while, because I have been struggling with a mental block.

You see, I had a relationship end in August of last year, while I was dealing with my uncle and father being diagnosed with terminal cancer and my grandmother, other uncle, and myself catching COVID. As many of you know, my grandmother, who raised me, and my father both passed on the same day. Despite all this, the person I had been seeing blamed the amount of time I was spending on working on the game as the cause for the relationship failing. This was new to me, as I had told her she could always ask for more attention if she needed it. And she never mentioned the game was a problem. It was a really hard breakup for me because I was very, very into this person, and I developed a mental block when it came to working on the game. Where once I had felt excitement, passion, and eagerness to get updates out to you all and hear the feedback you had, I now felt this void of blankness and worry. I decided I needed to get some work done. The months were passing, and my Patreon was bleeding members. So I sat down.

And I couldn't write a single fucking word.

I was stunned. I sat there all night at work looking at The Blank Page. It had soundly defeated me.

I tried again the next night. Same shit. I started panicking. If I can't write, I can't make the game. If I can't make the game, I'll continue to lose Patrons. And if that continues, I have to go back to working a lot more than I want. Back to being a slave to the system. Back to overtime and not having a life anymore.

So I told myself to stop freaking out and calm down. Pressure doesn't help creativity. Rather the opposite, it harms creativity. Y'all have been wonderfully patient with me through what has perhaps been the darkest time in my life, and the community at large has shown to be much the same. I may lose some Patrons, but this game is averaging 300 views and I think 60+ downloads a day, and more people give fresh feedback and see the Patreon page every day, so it's not going to be the disaster I anticipated.

On and on, The Blank Page continued to torment me. I think I secretly feared that, now that the game had been soundly condemned, I was doomed to repeat history if I went back to it. Alone, the game sat. Until yesterday.

But the reason I'm writing this is because I sat down yesterday, put some music on, and actually got some writing done. I broke the mental block. We're moving forward again. Chapter 6 is now in progress.

Thank you all for your support and patience. As I finally start getting to a place where this last blunder of mine is further and further from my mind, I find I'm enjoying the thought of WCA again, and the more I enjoy it, the better the content will be.

Thank you again. Love you fuckers.

As someone who has clinical depression, I can fully understand that complete roadblock. When it comes about for actual, terrible, life changing reasons like what happened to you; it's not just a case of "waiting it out" or hoping the meds kick in. When I was reading your post I was almost smacking myself in the forehead because it was sooooo similar to a situation that happened to me, but at a much larger scale than mine, many years ago. All I can say is, if you've made it to the point you say you have now - you'll make it. It won't be quick, easy, or fun but you will make it. Don't force it just because you've got a start, it could set you back - just let it flow.

Don't worry about us, we'll be here; plenty to do, plenty to see ;)

Ima be honest dude. When I write I use dictation personally. I just talk and use talk to text to catch what I saying. The tried and true method for D&D GMs for decades, Improv. Also glad you are doing better.

This is super interesting to me, as I've been a DM for 4 years now, and once had a paid position as a DM at a social lounge. How does your process work using dictation?

For me, so far it's been easiest to just know the theme of the conversation, shoot the scene, and then write the actual dialogue according to what I see in the pictures. Right now I'm trying to do it the opposite way, where I write the dialogue first and then shoot the scene and good god it's a lot harder.

Hey if you get a writting block you can always distract yourself with the other, more mechanical aspects of the game, like animations or simply make random renders and try to write little side stories about those, sometimes could end up being a neat but fruitless distraction but sometimes It could inspire you to write an awesome side story that could be added at some point to the game.

Great suggestion. I'm finding that the whole Write First, Shoot Later method is much harder, for me, personally, and I'm going to return to my old method of Shoot First Write Later. I apparently cannot write this game like I can write a book lol. The visuals help so much when writing dialogue.

whaaat? what happened?
From the images, something involving car accidents or landslides. Possibly lost control of the car and it crashed against a mountain or something? Guess once VC is better (or calmer), he'll be around to tell us the tale :p

His car might be a write-off, though, it was in bad shape (i.e. total loss)
