Some of the writing is absolutely "AVN-adjusted", so to speak. "AVN Logic" I guess. But no, at least where I am in America, high schoolers do not typically have graduation on a Monday, nor is graduation the same night as the final day of school. Things just got combined for brevity's sake lol.I'm not sure what level of writing I was expecting. I just got through the first scene and I'm sitting here thinking. "Do High Schools normally do graduation ceremonies on Monday? And do people normally go to school the day they graduate?"
And also "wait in this world is wrestling real or is the father just super delusional?"
Also "Do hospitals normally release unresponsive people with head trauma mere hours after being admitted?"
I'll just make this quick for someone as dense as you. It literally says on the F95 homepage: "Also please be aware that the first 3 chapters of the game are primarily text-based as the game was still being made in Twine, but everything has since been ported into Ren'Py. Chapter 4 is when Daz/Ren'Py production took over. If you do not want to do a lot of reading in a SLOW BURN story, this game is not for you."Tried this real quick but dropped it after a few minutes, the visuals are fine but I found the writing unbearable. I don't have time to write a full review so I'll just say a couple things.
The writing is so bloated and unnecessarily detailed it ruins the experience. You have whole paragraphs of descriptions in between two lines of dialogue, it feels like the author is trying to cram as many complicated words into each sentence as possible or trying to meet some sort of word count like it's a school essay.
The reason I'm saying this is because the dev drops the word count (70K) in the game itself, not like in a post in the forum or anything, which is highly unusual, I don't think I've ever seen any other dev do that. I leads me to believe that they think word count is a proxy for quality, lots of words = good and few words = bad which is (obviously) not how writing works.
I'm not going to pull the exact quote but for instance in the first scene the mom walks into the room and there's a whole paragraph about how she looks, how her hair is brown and so on. Like we get it, we can see the render we know her hair is brown there's no need to say it.
Essentially the writing style here would fit in a traditional book (without images) because then obviously you need more visual descriptions as the only thing you have is text and your imagination, but for a VN you need a writing style that takes those existing visuals into account and builds around them, focusing a lot more on dialogue and maybe the character's thoughts, but certainly not visuals. Anyone who has played other successful VNs will feel the difference.
Maybe the temptation here is to inflate playtime, and yes in quality games the playerbase is always complaining about there not being enough content, that's because with less text per render you have to make a LOT more renders and that's time-consuming but the solution is not to add so much text that it makes the experience tedious and boring.
TL;DR more renders less text
Very good update. You are a master of teasing and build up. The phone texts were especially hot. One thing I would recommend. You should show visuals and renders of what the ladies are doing on the other end of the line. Just the description of the mess that Beverly was making in the kitchen was so sexy. If you could demonstrate that visually, it could be perfect.View attachment 5584934

My friends, it's finally here! It's RELEASE TIME! I'm extremely exhausted and at my rope's end so I'll come back tomorrow after resting and add a proper changelog and other shit, but for now... please enjoy.

The Head of the Table needs head under the table from his best two girlsLooks like Morgan is creating his own version of of The Bloodline. And he will reign over it as both The Head of the Table and The Tribal Chief.![]()
What an immature, petulant child of a response to someone who took the time to give you feedback. Grow up and learn how to take criticism constructively. He's largely right, by the way. Some of the writing is absolutely "AVN-adjusted", so to speak. "AVN Logic" I guess. Also yes, wrestling in this game is portrayed as a legit physical contest of combat.

So basically what that means is if you still decided to play it and then start crying and bitching about the very thing you were warned about—I don't give a single fuck what you had to say, only read the first paragraph before realizing what kind of creature I was talking to, and I'll never once acknowledge you again. Have a Happy New Year's!
I'd say it was actually quite mature one based on the facts that the developer also mentioned in their response. What an immature, petulant child of a response to someone who took the time to give you feedback. Grow up and learn how to take criticism constructively. He's largely right, by the way.

Imagine these mouthbreathing troglodytes going to a game that not only has a warning on the F95 page but also DIRECTLY IN GAME:![]()
If you can't read a warning then nobody wants the feedback.
Sidenote, can't wait to dive back in with one of the hottest MILF's.
"GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY! GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY! THEY'VE KILLED HIM! AS GOD AS MY WITNESS, HE IS BROKEN IN HALF!"Not all feedback is good feedback. Your opinion is worthless and no one wants it. Just the facts. Have a nice day though!![]()
The feedback/discussion is not just for you. Its a public forum and discussions can help players too. I have not played the game so I often come to the forum to see what peoples impressions are whether they be positive or negative. I often end up subscribing on patreon so I want to see what I am getting into. Especially the stuff you dont see just by playing the game such as update velocity, general attitude of the community towards the game/developer, dev's responsiveness etc just to get a feel for the type of person I will potentially be supporting. And then start bitching about "durrrrrr 2 many werds 4 muh sengle IQ brain, wat do, wear da sex at????"

I appreciate your thoughtful reply, but I'll make this clear one final time and then I'm not engaging in this any further:The feedback/discussion is not just for you. I'll be honest - personal attacks, insults and name calling is a bit off putting to me. Doesnt mean that you should just sit there and take it of course but I do think the same point could have been made politely. Reading the post, I get the impression that the intent was to help. My interpretation of what the guy said was that the initial parts of the game could benefit from being reworked a bit and it is perfectly reasonable for you to say no to that - the insults though are unnecessary.
The reason I find it off putting is if I end up playing/supporting the game and I share an opinion, I might be similarly insulted. Of course I do not expect anything I say to influence development if that goes against a developer's wishes. I strongly believe developers should follow their vision and letting players dictate development will result in a ruined product. But I would at least hope that a developer reads what I have to say and dismisses it politely. I am fully aware that you probably do not care if I play your game. But just know that this comment was made in good faith as well.
