Mind Drop #14 (03/08/2021)
Not a whole lot to talk about and today is a busy day so I can't ramble too much but there's some necessary info still
Game related stuff:
- 400 render update will be sliding to the 17th-20th
Still unpacking everything from the move, and on top of that I've spent a lot of time organizing files and working on some smaller things in the script while also planning out what I wanted to do for my update cycle.
But the main reason for the slide is I want to spread out the next two releases a little bit so there's not a large gap in the updates when I move to the full update plan.
- I will be pausing pledges this month in anticipation for the changes to the update schedule so everyone has time to update their support / tiers accordingly.
(As an aside if you're someone who will be dropping their support because of the new schedule, I just want you to know I don't blame you at all and there's no hard feelings, this new plan isn't what was promised when you pledged and I know it can be frustrating. But I do thank you for the support you have given me thus far ) and of course thank you to all the homies that plan on sticking around <3

Personal related stuff:
- Unpacking is harder than moving
- I've had a large increase in questions about WVM and myself. And it's been a long time since the last Q&A/FAQ so I'll be doing one of those this week. So feel free to comment or send me any questions you have about the game or week 1 redo (no spoilerish questions)
or questions you have about myself.
- I've been speedrunning SM64 16 star again. Only for like an hour a day but it's been nice to get back into. I'm re-learning on an emulator so maybe I'll stream some runs sometimes.
- Speaking of games and stuff. I stopped reporting my WPM progress a few weeks ago because I got a new keyboard and was trying to get used to it. Turns out I just didn't like the new keyboard and I ordered a different one. So those should return next week
The plan so far:
The plan is pretty much what I've been discussing in these last few posts.
I'll be moving to an "update when it's ready" schedule after day 9. But I'm not going to lock myself into it. There may be times when I want to release a weekly or a monthly. I'm not going to only have full releases but it will be the norm and expectation moving forward. Any other early releases will just be bonuses.
And as a reminder, this isn't a locked in permanent thing. If I try it and don't like it or it doesn't work for me then we'll swap to something that does. This is all about finding what works best for me and the game and trying things out to find out exactly what is best.
I'm just a dude who is trying to do the right thing, and I think we're going down the right path.

The schedule for the next few releases:
400 render update March 17th-20th, rest of day 9 mid April, and days 10-14 full update will follow those, then week 3 full update after that.
(Reminder the pacing picks up after day 9. So longer timespan =/= longer updates/longer dev time)
I expect full updates to average 2-3 months to make, some shorter.
Exact tier rewards are still being decided but outside of access to updates and stuff there will be custom render sets each month and polls for those as well as a few other things like singular renders and stuff that'll likely make it into the game at later stages. Maybe renders for girls on their birthdays as they fall in real life.
I'll save most of what I want to talk about for the FAQ that'll be up sometime this week. That way most of the info is in one spot and is easy to find.
