The funny thing is when BD says : "The update will be ready by the end of the month" but he never specifies which month and which year...His work speed is so slow that days past and he is still on the beginning of the update...

That's the joke. Valentine's Day is a static date every year. Nobody's just going to to schedule something for that date and then find out at the last minute that it's a date conflict. Also, I think you missed that his partner in this is his hand.
I think it speaks volumes that anyone assumed that was a real quote...
