The rework was supposed to be out 2 or 3 years ago, so it's normal for someone to think there are at least concepts of a plan by now

as far as from what i've read, any rework that was already implemented into the game is all that has been worked on from that point, additional work on the redo and/or character sheets,cards,special events has been completely on hold until CH13 releases in full
to the other people, yes, we've gone from CH releases, to Part releases, to Part-of-a-Part releases :/

But seriously, honest communication goes a long way. The thing is though, and I've said this before, rules of decency and integrity don't matter in the world of Patreon. His supporters keep this circus alive, and while BD is very slowly losing subs, it would take something earth-shattering for the Patrons to finally hit the brakes on the gravy train.

He never had a real plan, or at least he didn't stick to it. This was evident when he said he wouldn't add more characters after Skye, and then he added more. And more.
But despite the game turning into a fuck fest, he didn't originally want it to be like that whether he planned it in depth or not. He wanted a harem game, sure, but not a fuck fest haram game. He wanted there to be a (in his mind) a good story too.
This was shown from the start of the game with MC's family mystery. The other guys on the basketball team (turning out to be gay, one of them a bad guy etc.). The choices/routes around Shauna and Jamie (which he abandoned pretty quickly) etc.
But he began favoring the fuck fest to placate his new (and quickly growing fanbase) by adding more characters, more fuck fest stuff (like the pregnancy job) and so on. The things his new fans wanted. He wanted to keep the growth and momentum up, this game took off like a rocket. I've yet to see a new dev take off so quickly like BD did since.
But he eventually couldn't take it. He's making a game he didn't like anymore. He, more or less, killed his game's story in favor of adding a hundred LI's that his fans wanted to bang.
So he went down the rabbit hole even more, and just like adding a bunch of characters, he started adding random story threads too. And he started to rework the start of the game to try to combine his stories with the fuck fest in a way he and his fans would be happy with.
But that's basically impossible. His fans, by and large, do not care about story. But BD really does. So he burned out, he doesn't want to work on this anymore. So he's been trying these past few years to force it. Like you said, he makes all these deadlines as a way to try to make himself keep going, because he knows he's made tons of promises and he needs/wants the money this generates for him whether he likes the game or not.

What were these again? I vaguely remember something more in depth than the ultimately pointless cheating/not paths we have now.

due to the amount of people at different points of the game (waiting for full CH13 release, FEB2024 version, Update Version, NewBrokenVersion) getting a save might be impossible, this is Borpa's fault
i have personally kept my promise of not playing any update since the FEB2024 chunk, but i hear the animations are improving, - - there are allegedly 6 new animations in the part-of-chunk that was released yesterday
i have read that if you are only updating your folder with the "chunk" and using an old save rather than completely redownloading the entire game, that there are still errors, errors that do not have anything to do with the missing material
there was a "hotfix" in the Discord, but idk if it actually works and it's buried in 100s of garbage posts from the fiasco of the release, sorry
this is quite articulate, i believe my husband would allow a smooch for this (he doesn't give a fuck about the game except when i bitch about it on the way to work or cooking)
being around the chat since '19, i had read that you were originally suppose to have a ShaunaGF-only route, a ShaunaTS-only route, a JamieGF-only route, a Cheater-with-Consequences-route, and a "wholesome threesome of equal value, but you had to be patient" route, as far as the 3 main MCs go
this never happened, as evident by the "fuck everyone you want, no matter what, nothing changes in the game" story we got now
you kind of have to police yourself with your own morals :/

It took him a month to fix 19 renders so these 100 missing ones we won't be seeing until next year
He should have kept it simple and had the "rework" only consist of turning Azel into MC's "former landlady" and Cedar into his long lost "childhood friend."

doesn't have to, there are tons of INC mods active on F95, who do work for HH, WA, and the like
all he'd have to do is set a label and customization for assets in the dialogue
if he was too lazy to do himself, he could hire someone a 1-time fee to set it up for him
the issue is that he has purposely forced the game out of INC and re-routed it specifically to NOT have INC
i mostly do not care either way, but he himself has admitted to INC-baiting to cater/gather fanbase opinion
many many excuses for why he doesn't just bite the bullet, most being "but patreon"
dude...there are like, at least 100 other dev's here on Patreon doing VNs, a handful "quite famous", that have INC work-arounds
literally has no valid excuse whatsoever
