This confirms he's pure crunch mode when he finally looks at the calendar and sees the next release is a week away. That's why he keeps setting public release dates, so some part of him will actually feel compelled to get off his ass and do something. What I dont understand, and likely never will, is how someone that used to have weekly releases gets this lazy. I know some folks will say burnout but as someone that actually plays the updates, I dont think that's the case. He's trying to tell some kind of a story now (regardless of quality) when it's clear his brownnosers would be more than happy with a mindless fuckfest.

Yeah, that certainly could be true, but the only issue is when did the wheels come off? How was he doing weekly updates before, assuming he had the same ideas swirling around. Building the story, introducing new characters, continuing character development, making lewds bigger and bigger, everything involving the rework, trying and failing to fix the pacing, all of it. He can't figure out an effective way to prioritize and just DO the work. So he gets stuck in his head, feeling busy but doing fuck all.

Just about everyone says shit went wild after the bowling alley event, and that's certainly true. Willabelle was introduced, Ryker attacks MC, Wendy shows up, I want to say Millie also arrived, which lead to fast-tracking MC knocking up Jamie, and it goes on and on from there.
My money is also on a workflow problem, I get the feeling very little planning is happening. I'm sure he's got an outline but it feels like its all just asspulls at the 11th hour. I certainly ain't buying the perfectionist bit, it could be part of it. I doubt the rework gets shoved back this long if that's truly the case. Not that I care about it much at this point, we've blown past anything that's too tied up in it by now. It does however, feel like a convenient excuse if one say hadn't started on the 4000 renders one had conjured from ones imagination for the sake of a tracker. The truly wild part is I imagine most people, might've cut him some slack if he was just honest.
The rework was supposed to be out 2 or 3 years ago, so it's normal for someone to think there are at least concepts of a plan by now
as far as from what i've read, any rework that was already implemented into the game is all that has been worked on from that point, additional work on the redo and/or character sheets,cards,special events has been completely on hold until CH13 releases in full
