You know what's funny about this thread is that when an update comes out the thread goes into slow mode, activity drops a lot, and when BD starts acting silly and making the wait for the next update last forever this thread becomes super active.

you are not wrong. When a update drops we talk about the game but once he messes up again its all down the drain.
No news, as of yet. But you can make damn sure he will say something before the end of the month. You know he can't pass up milking his pledges so he will have to come up with some excuse in the coming days.
So, why did BD make the story so damn complex and melodramatic (all these characters have interconnected backstories, people have convenient amnesia or never asked obvious questions, there are shadowy conspiracies and ninjas, etc.)?
a. Was it because he thought a story about a basketball superstar with a huge dick and a harem of loving women was too boring by itself?
b. Was it because he thought he needed to explain why the MC gets all these women and all this special treatment?
c. Is it because he got bored with the old, simpler story?
d. Other?
I tend to think it is c. He got bored by late 2020, which is also why updates started slowing down. He doesn't care much about the original story anymore/he's already told the part of the story (the GF becoming a bottom bitch/cuckquean and the breeding business) that excited him originally, and that apathy is why some people think he got replaced. But I'm curious if anyone else has an alternative theory.

I think this is just the way his writing's always been. We've just forgotten because the story's been all but abandoned while he's been off on this Florida sidequest for the last few years.
I mean, before Florida we've got:
1. MC gets kidnapped by Ryker while sleepwalking around town
2. MC finds out he has (and almost fucks) a long lost sister he just completely forgot about
3. MC finds out the girl who rescued him from Ryker's kidnapping attempt is his long lost childhood friend he just completely forgot about
4. MC finds out his adopted mother's boss is a semi-retired super spy who's harboring a princess in her basement
5. MC's long lost mother shows up and runs over a bunch of dudes with an SUV. Everyone survives.
BD's writing style has always been to swing for the fences soap opera style, we just forgot because the last two years have just been:
1. Fly to Florida, fuck bitches on the plane
2. Arrive in Florida, fuck bitches at hotel
3. Head to party, fuck bitches on the yacht
4. Leave party, fuck bitches at spa
5. Stall for another year when he realizes he finally has to write story content again
