Hello, everyone!
This week progress has been in two main areas: editing and rendering of Saturday morning and video editing of Friday's scenes.
Starting at the end. The scenes from Friday that are already finished must be transformed into video format in order to be a proper animation. To do this I transform the ronders into frames and export them with a kind of .gif, from which the actual animation is made. To do this I have to edit (speed, order, effects) that ".gif" and add the sound effects. These scenes will later have background music, but the video itself does not include it, in case the player prefers to play without music (an option within the cell phone) and listen only to the sound effects. The truth is that I had not edited video seriously for a few months and I had forgotten the location of the effects and sounds but now I have it fresh in my mind. In the next few days I will finish editing all the animations from Friday.
These last few days I've finished the first two animations and although there are more than twenty animations left from this day I'll be able to dedicate more time to it this week and move forward faster. Also these remaining animations are simpler. The two I've finished are animations of the infamous opening scene in the shower: the one I've redone three times. Finally I decided to solve the problems with the water with video editing: to see a fluid and natural water animation I would have to render each frame of it with physics adapted to the animation frame, which means 120 hours per animation... totally impossible.
Regarding the progress on Saturday. Things are going more fluidly than in the scene at Isabella's house on Friday, fortunately. This week I've had to edit quite a lot of scenes, eleven if I remember correctly. These last few months when I was more focused on animations, the normal thing was to have to edit one or two a week. This part of editing is more fun: there is more variety of scenarios and elements to work with but they also require more time to adjust lighting and finish the renders. These are usually partial renders: fairly complete but partially empty, usually missing a part where the sky would be in outdoor scenes. This is added in editing quickly and if I don't add it in the initial render it is to save time: so the average rendering time this week has been around an hour per render. The image quality is all that the program can get. So and discounting the hours it takes to edit the scenes, about 80 images have been rendered this week. It is not the optimal amount but almost all the hours I have available in the day have been focused on editing scenes and while editing a scene in DAZ this program cannot render. It could be done by installing an alpha version of DAZ, but it generates incompatibility problems and can crash both versions if used in parallel, so I will continue with the safest way. From my own experience I can say that losing hours of rendering is unpleasant, but if you had not saved the file beforehand it becomes very annoying.
The edited and rendered scenes from Saturday are introductory to the weekend and focus on introducing what will happen during the weekend and the role the MC will have in it (this will be explained in the coming weeks). There are also several shots for the trip from the city to the port, to give a sense of distance. During this car trip (which is already fully rendered) there will be a first approach to the character of Elizabeth Zarcoty, the mayor of L.D. and a conversation with her and Mrs Bellmere. Before this there is another conversation with Mrs Bellmere where she will tell the MC how to behave around Mrs Zarcoty. Right now the shots of the port are being rendered. These will not be many: just an introduction of the characters that will appear during the weekend and little else. At the port you will only be passing through to get on the boat, so it would not make sense to have many conversations in this place. I estimate that about ten renders will be enough: the MC, Mrs Bellmere and Mrs Zarcoty arrive at the port, meet their weekend companions and get on the boat. There is no need to extend the scene any further.
Next week I will finish the port part and start with the boat part. The boat trip will last one hour in-game and there will be two scenes: a mandatory one of the MC with Mrs Bellmere and an optional one of futa on female (the MC will be a voyeur in this scene). Beyond this, next week I hope to continue advancing with the editing of videos from Friday and if there are no complications, finish them.
