You click, there is few seconds of (mouse cursor) activity and then nothing happens, no error massage. Just like you didn't even started?
How old is the computer? which CPU?
I have a DELL T3500 with cpu Xeon w3520 but only with regard to these games, the rest is perfect

Little bit newer than my C2Q Q9450, but still. I'm not sure if it's hardware or windows. I never tried to install win 10 on him. Yes, other things worked by me too, but not few ren'py games, those without 32 version. Probably the same as it was by my computer.
But the rest, the mouse cursor activity and nothing happens?
Did you saw any error in event viewer? My event viewer didn't show any errors, the .exe just didn't start anything.

I don't like to guess, but I would say that the newer version of ren'py doesn't like old Windows versions.
First game that didn't work for me was Caribdis's "Once in a Lifetime" (only last version, previous version worked fine), and I know Carbidis did the v1.0 of the game in newer ren'py then previous version.
I understand but he would solve it and start doing it again as before...at least they would satisfy everyone since the problem is not mine alone!!!
Renpy 8 doesn't support the 32bit executable anymore. That executable caused issues as well as commonly flagging as a virus on many peoples anti-virus software. It's really a huge headache.

Dev Talk - Tits, Towels, Tools
Last weekend I was out of town for the wife's birthday, but overall it was another quiet week. Wrapped up the extremely slow to render bathtub scene and finished and rendered the animations.
Was also dealing with Steam for Personal Trainer. They want a game build to check the sexual content before approving the store page. Said it doesn't need to be a final build, just something for them to be able to check the sexual content. So I spent a few days preparing a build. They rejected it saying it's incomplete, which is expected, but they didn't approve the store page because the game build is "incomplete". So I'm confused but will hopefully have it resolved sometime soon.
This week I've also had another bout of tool development. Despite the new cpu, some scenes are still pretty laggy when attempting to pose and especially animate. I've found some workarounds but they're a bit of a pain in the ass to deal with every time. Somehow stumbled on the Diffeo daz importer manual and realized that there's been an option in there, for a very long time, that's specifically designed for this.
They're "mannequins", a sliced up low performance intensive variation of your characters which are used for posing/animating while the original high resolution characters are used for the actual render.
This discovery + a backlog of other feature implementations I've wanted to do, but couldn't figure out how to tackle, meant that I gave scripting another go. This time however, I finally utilized chatgpt4 and that son of a bitch really knows a thing or two. If Steam approves Personal Trainer, then I'm feeling extra confident that I will be able to rewrite the code and implement a much better experience with my bestest buddy, ChatGPT4, by my side.

It's hard for me to believe that this game has so many 5/5 ratings, the MC is tragic, the humor is embarrassing, the decisions don't make much sense, the plot is very average, of course the game looks very nice, but the renders are not everything, games that are very similar to this are mostly 3/5 stars despite the beautiful renders...

Dev Talk - Uno Mas
One more event left to render before finishing Ep 4 part 1. I'm not committing to an exact release date just yet. Once the renders are done, there's still post work, possible rewrites and edits, coding, picking music and of course testing. For those who may be out of the loop, I'm releasing episodes in two parts from now on. This reduces the dev cycle but also reduces the amount of total content per release.
In less than two weeks, I have to leave the country for a few days. This of course throws a wrench into release planning but it should be ready within a few weeks at most.
On to some other big news, Steam finally approved the store page for Personal Trainer. This won't simply be me uploading Personal Trainer as is and calling it good. I will entirely rewrite the code from scratch, tackling a lot of the sandbox elements that can be improved upon, and try to polish the game to feel more like a 2023 release. I'll also render some additional content for some of the girls who's endings felt too abrupt.
After I release Ep4 Pt1 of In a Scent, I'll put together an infographic of what to expect with the Personal Trainer Steam release.

For a lot of us we enjoyed it but that doesn't mean everyone will have the same experience, it sounds like it's not for you but here's some good news for you, there are thousands of other games/VNs on this website.
