Chimera Bloodlines: Build v1.5 is Out!!!

Before we jump into details - I want to reiterate something. If you have any wishes, don't like, or like something - please communicate this to me, as I am the sort of dev who makes the best decisions on the feedback of others.



Now, for the update v1.5.

I am super excited to keep seeing more and more support on Patreon, and continue working hard to make something cool! This build had a couple of main purposes when I distributed the tasks:

1) Create 8 extra characters to wrap up the core season 1 cast at 20 characters
2) Create and model the locations I will be using throughout the game, which was completed
3) Finalize the Sandbox system and all technical elements, so I can 100% transition into making content.
4) Focus on writing the core narrative, to later transition into character interactions and lots of sex scenes.

Happy to say that the tasks above were accomplished, and I will be collecting feedback on any bugs, narrative issues, or anything else that the users might want to see.

Here is the detailed Change Log of what was completed at v1.5:

- Creation of sex scenes varying from romantic to BDSM and rape, including dates
- Development of storylines for factions
- Full completion of “Day 1” & ability to call unlocked characters

In summary, the core things are in place, the overview of the world, characters and the world are given - and I can transition into making really steamy shit with all the girls while keeping the narrative pace. I am still following my initial vision of making a game like Disco Elysium but in VN format with a shitload of hot girls and sex.

For tags, essentially, more sexual variety as more content is being developed, and focus a bit more on drugs/corruption elements.

Not sure what you mean in the second part of the message. It's kinda a reality of adult game development. Though, there is always a patch option when it comes to incest, and I considered leaving it for future development, as a couple of the characters were initially planned to be related to the MC.

Which is why I was surprised Sam scene didn't have a pregnancy variable. Since choosing to cum inside was a decision that seemed important from the dialogue, both previous & with Sam. Even a inside/outside flag wasn't present(iirc). You'd think every creampie would be flagged given how significant it is lorewise.

Meanwhile, women only ovulate for a short time per month. So most of the time, it's fucking irrelevant. No ovulation, no fucking pregnancy. Did all of you sleep through basic biology cause you wouldn't need it in real life?

Heck, you asked. Here goes my standard wishlist.

1) light BDSM (LIs running around in handcuffs or boxties, spanking, clamps and toys, etc),
2) CMNF,
3) risky behavior with the chance of getting caught
4) Damsels in distress getting terrorized and rescued
5) MFF threesomes
6) sloppy rough deepthroating
7) petite and slim LIs who strongly contrast in size with the MC
8) teasing and pervy banter and backtalking

That might be too much but what the heck you asked. I won't really harp on what I don't like, because everyone likes different things and it's not reasonable to tell you what you shouldn't do with your game. Oh, and I know it's a dark and futuristic story, so some of my interests may be a little bit too lighthearted?

Whatever, combining all of these elements into a perfect mashup I imagine a couple of chimera LIs in distress that get rescued by the MC, decide the fear and helplessness turned them on so they constantly go all sassy and bratty to provoke the MC, and when they get the punishment that they rightfully deserve they remain in high spirits and come back for more. Even better if they are in friendly competition with each other, conspire to get each other in trouble, are happy to go lezzie with MC's involvement (or just because it provokes him), and see it all as a fun game.

But that's what I always want in every game, lol. Like so many of us I wish I had the time/talent to make my own. Thank you so much for making your game for us to enjoy.

Even though you implemented the always hateful sandbox mode, the game just keeps getting better.

The new night map looks very cool.

It would have been nice if you kept the daytime one as well.

The only thing I don't like is Jazmine, you need to rewrite that character, she is very wasted and undervalued in terms of her role.
PS: the sandbox mode has made the chronological order of the story feel very messy/chaotic.

Typical sandbox issues as far as development of the game goes. So many things are "still in development." That said, I can see that the finished product will probably be a proper game with actual purpose behind the systems. It's just a matter of filling out the world and interactions, but that's easier said than done. A lot of devs with big ambitions like this end up abandoning their game before it really gets anywhere.

Anyways, good luck on the project. I like the style and atmosphere of this game.

Great, I've forgotten to leave a dev note that the scenes post-battlefield will be rewritten - this is my bad. Now that there is a more solid starting point, there will be more deviation, too. I just need to go back, redo/align everything, add more divergence, finish Day 1 (which is the purpose of v2) - and then it will be easier to continue with the future questlines.

It's a larger overall overhaul than a bugfix, leaving the rewrite for v2; thanks for pointing it out.

The main goal in v1.5 is to test out that whole Sandbox thing and prevent any bugs, so I def missed out on some content with all the coding stuff that needed to be done.

Ah, that's what you meant - I'm not sure yet. The issues are the following: time & alienation

Time - it takes time to make a scene that a lot of players might skip, though, sharing & netori I don't find that bad
Alieanation - many players can immediately go ballistic, as you might well know

My core goal here with Sandbox was - does it suck / is it useable? Obviously, there will be way more visual pointers (action available) of where to click and where the new interactions are available, and due to the number of characters, all of the scenes with calls, dates, prisoner interactions, etc. - simply need to be made for options to become available.

When it comes to messiness, I feel like it will become much easier to navigate once... the content is actually there, and you can just do whatever order of things you want. It's obviously annoying to click on smth and just see greyed out buttons

1) Prisoner interactions will get progressively more intense, BDSM is a focus in this section of the game
2) I had no idea this had a name xD
3) This one is difficult - cause the Protagonist is an alcoholic who wouldn't care much about this... Maybe if there is some sort of a bigger risk like get attacked by entire faction or nuclear rocket if you are caught
4) Yep, though, as an antihero
5) Yep, in development - like most sex scenes, as there are not that many currently
6) I wanted to do it in the first scene, but then decided to start a bit lighter... Cock gagging isn't bad
7) This approaches the loli territory - would like to avoid prison time (google Australia to learn why)
8) Man, pervy banter in adult games makes me cringe sometimes, a fine line to get it right, which I tread... poorly

4. Finally a request - could we disable the images beside the dialogue? If not all characters, atleast the MC? I find it distracting & annoying to constantly see a miniature potrait beside the dialogue.

Extra: 5. Narrative: You meet Saya in the bar, yet the final scene the MC doesn't recognise her. Similarly Silver magician is still described as mysterious in the dialogue with Kiri, even though we got a different story from visiting the bar previously.

Oh, and some of the dialogue titles are messed up, like it says character A is speaking when it's actually character B. Common errors in these games tbh. I'll try to log the exact lines next version if I get time. I think I saw the errors in the starting scene (MC, Morgana & the 2 girls) & maybe a title was missing in the last scene in the room with all the people. Not sure tho.

Must've been in the the same week they covered Chimeras. Had no idea they could be this powerful & defy basic physics either.
For sometime I was worried I had slept through basic physics, thank godthe holy Chimera, it was just biology

I guess I use the word definitely a bit too definitely. By cheating, I mean Netori (before someone freaks out, it means the MC stealing the SO), I'm just avoiding using the word in case someone might not know the difference. Potentially, there might be options if the MC promises to be exclusive with someone and then cheats, but this might be a bit too difficult to integrate with the whole harem thing.

It's something I need to play around with after the Sandbox part is done. I never enjoyed NTR much, but Netori isn't shabby

Netori is like the abandoned step-child of the ntr family who can only hang out with the rival harem family
Netori is directly opposite to netorare/netorase, hence it's not often found in ntr games, but meshes well with harem usually.
Tbh it's pretty underrepresented & I'd be glad to see another game having netori content. Once the new tags come in, hopefully more people will be aware of this Dominant ntr variant.
Gotta wonder how far you wanna push the cuck content alongside it though. Is the male partner mentioned? Is he informed? Watching? Crying in the corner? Participating (in a totally sub cuck capacity ofc)?

You are the god (dev) here, you decide when the women are ovulating - that is whenever you decide to put any pregnancy flags.
Only stupid people will think they know anything about Chimera biology, given how they can shoot fire, reside in spirit form(is spirit even covered by biology??), etc.
Chimeras having high virility sperm able to hunker down & survive up to a month in utero is a legitimate possibility.
The perks of creating a fantasy world: you create the laws of science here. So if someone talks about basic biology, you can say you wrote the book on Chimera world biology - the women don't ovulate (release ovum) once a month here, instead the uterus always has an ovum. Most of the month the chemical composition of the uterus is not conductive to the survival of sperm, except for a small window similar to the ovulation period of our world's females. However, more resilient Chimera sperm can still survive & inseminate the ovum during this 'safe' period, hence Chimera sex is much more risky.
Normal birth control doesn't work for Chimeras - male sperm going through the condom & the female body being unaffected by the chemical/hormones in contraception pills, making the pull out method the best option for following the 1st law.
I could keep talking about how this leads to chastity device programs by the Hematarchs, how it was controversial, how female Chimera are less likely to be impregnated by a non-Chimera male(non-Chimera sperm cannot survive the uterus of Chimeras 90% of the time due to more potent chemicals/hormones or whatever), while male Chimera are often highly virile & can often impregnate women(chimera & human alike) on birth control, allowing them to push through legislation to have the lower status Chimera males be locked in perpetual chastity cages, another inhumane violation of Chimera rights... (I can keep going )
In short, you are the god who created this world, including the biology & physics books. Science doesn't limit you, you limit science

Netori I've seen incorporated into harem with no problems, but most ppl put sharing & ntr in the same word (ntr/sharing) so I'd be more careful there. Netorase(sharing) is basically consensual netorare so people tend to avoid both equally, while netori is pretty much the opposite of netorare & harem players should feel no threat if it's properly written.

Anyway, I see the new version, gonna try it now & see if I have any feedback feedback added at the top of the post.
