Supernerdbrot While being mad at a post made 7 years is certainly fun, did you go to the TQ website to download the game AND the interpreter bundle? Because the game is freely available there, the difference is the donators content unlocked via code/file, but the base game file itself is the same for everybody, so just grab it there. Plus, IIRC even the TQ dev warns that one of the Git versions keeps triggering AVPs.
Does anyone have the new unstable version, dying to try it!

* There's now a couple of new special rooms to visit via the elevator next to the security screens in the hotel.
* To recap, you need to first authenticate by:
* Putting something in the chute which has the pimp / mechanic / Xavier's cum on/in it.
* Impaling your pussy / ass on the 'DNA probe' after the pimp / mechanic / Xavier has recently ejaculated in it.
* Obtain the mechanic's ID card (the mechanic drops it upon defeat, and you can also get it when you demand an item from him).

* The heist involves bringing some milk (in your mouth, ass or both) to the pedestal containing the tiara. But you will also need to obtain the key to the vault, which requires its own offering of milk.

* Failing the heist quest causes the cat hood to transform into the human toilet / meat toilet hood.

Thanks. In the end, it was disappointing. For a game that old, and that got a considerable amount of money over the years, there aren't a lot of scenes in the files. Classic Trap Quest being pretty good, but very underwhelming considering its budget, haha

It seems to me that the game has to track/calculate too many things every turn (which, if you keep adding new stuff, are obviously going to keep growing in number), and we already have examples of how bad the lag can get when games go berserk (about tracking everything).

will there ever be a way to play this game without getting a PhD in understanding basic instructions?
It is just kind of the nature of Patreon funded games in general. The platform encourages big, regular updates and the only way to really do that is to build somethin that is inherently rushed and unstable. You can get away with it for a good while but eventually all the shortcuts and hacks you used to build fast come back to bite you in the ass.
The engine is part of the problem with Trap Quest but plenty of other games on less limiting engines have met the same fate. Summertime Saga and Virt-a-Mate have both been working on their big Tech Updates for years now trying to pay off the tech debt they incurred by building fast early on.
Ambition and porn games don't combine to make a terribly sustainable business model. Best to stick to making a bunch of smaller scope games so your bad practices never catch up to you on any given project.
The patreon/substar both have an Unlocker post prior to the Unstable release post.

Figure I would run this by anyone alive here - any ideas/suggestions other than "forget it and just skip" for these?
1. When I sit on the throne, the sceptre and tiara spawn just fine, but instead of the dress I get a crop top (from the princess/cheerleader cross-class). That results in shopkeeper not seeing me as a princess, which prevents me from collecting tax, which in turn prevents me from removing the tiara the "quest completion" way.
2. The goblin painting refuses to give me the ring: I guess the goblin correctly, but when I "poke" her - no ring. No ring, the turn is still taken, and the goblin repeats her line. The problem with that is that I cannot even leave the painting, resulting in a softlock.

1. Straaaange. Crop top spawns regularly for me, but the shopkeeper part never bugs out like this. My only suggestion is to keep completing 'bored guard' quest. I think all you need is to just demand item/make a peace offering, if you don't want to do the sex part, because the princess quest doesn't care about any specific quest being completed, but only about the number, and guard quest is repeatable.
2. I think, I remember something like this happening (in my case, I accidentally killed the ring goblin with a nail bomb?). Maybe you could try removing worn jewelry, try with a different combination of rings? You are not able to take the ring, if all your fingers are already occupied, so maybe for some reason the game views your fingers as occupied?
Also with regards to your previous question. Still no idea about the benefits of letting herald descend. The only positive change I noticed, if you are a cultist, is that you can spam herald with "Can you teach me something useful?" for intelligence increases.

Given it's unstable, you should put it underneath the other releases with a PS: this is the latest patreon release file and unlocker, only in clothing.
People might still want the previous version with different windows. The other versions will probably come at the end of this month with a full release.
