Here's a take from a random person on a porn game website. So, take it with a gain of salt.
I understand being a dev can be hard. I've also wanted to do it since I went to college for 3d animation. I just don't have the time to devote to it. I know the obligations you feel to the patrons that support you, and wanting to please them. It can be a lot of pressure.
I understand the frustration on limited hardware to see your vision and wanting to perfect your craft.
You're right, you're still here and still making games. I dont think you're a quitter, nor do some of the other people that are calling you out. I don't think that's the core of their concerns. However...
Regardless of the reasons you've stated for moving on to other projects, the perception of it when people see three abandoned games is that you're unreliable. So you're going to loose credibility as a dev that will follow through and complete a game. Some people won't search into the reasons why, they will just see your history of three abandoned games and avoid you based on that alone. People won't want to play your games and get invested in your stories and characters only to get left hanging when you move on to another project. Can you really blame them?
Let's say this is the one you complete, everything you've been working towards will pay off in this game. Not to call you a liar, but, based on the perception of your current track record, it doesn't look good. That's why I think people are reacting the way they are and roasting you for "abandoning" and starting yet another game. Why wouldn't people think you will abandon this one too? Based on the current history you hold for completion.
Try not to take any of this personally, it's just to help you understand some of the frustrations of people who like your games, but keep getting burned when you move on. So, truly, good luck. I hope this is the one and I hope you complete this version and it's everything you worked towards and people enjoy it. Honestly.
