Then I'm not really sure what is going wrong on your end. I just tried a brand new install with just the MC rename mod shared here and it works. Everyone refers to the player as the name I entered.

EDIT: are you using the Incest plus rename. Or just the rename only mod?

if your using the Incest plus MC rename. You need to edit the zzzpatch.rpy to the name you want to use. Just open it up and replace any "playername" to the actual name you want.

you might be missing the ones at the top that replace anything in the dialog.

You should have to replace things 4 times to get it right.

Then I'm not really sure what is going on with your install. unless your installing it in the wrong location or something.

you should extract the mod into the root "Lukesway0.36-pc" directory.

You will know if it's installed wrong if you have another "game" folder within your "Game" folder. ie if you have something like "Lukesway0.36a-pc\game\game\"

this is the only thing that I can think of that could explain what your having happen since looking at the code and trying it myself with a fresh instal and it working fine.

Edit: All the script files, except for the last one (v0.35.rpy in this case) will work fine in all future updates. The last one (for the last update) won't work because it won't be programmed to continue the game. I will update these once V0.36 is finished.
