d5aqoep, I have no reason not to believe you, but what you are saying sounds like an anecdote.. 
It is possible to "make a mistake" playing blind, without Sancho Mod (or official WT)...and sometimes it happens...But with a mod...hmm, just be more careful and yes, as rightly pointed out above, if you have rank K4 (at the exit of the prison), then you are automatically on the Sub route(s)... If you are K5 or better still K6 then it's ok, you are on the Dom route(s).

Also to add to this (for anyone reading in the future), it is also possibly to have more dom points but end up on the SubTrack and be stuck there. In fact, it's actually one of the worst combinations...you're effictively like Jake, keep rebelling against your treatment, which just gets you even worse treatment lol.d5aqoep, I have no reason not to believe you, but what you are saying sounds like an anecdote..
In prison (to start), Slave points affect your rank more than anything. You can be perfectly good, even domninant at times, but get more than 3 slave points (IIRC) which you will always taking the good path, will fuck you up. It is perfectly possible to be more dominant but keep screwing up on important temp variables that actually affect your 'rank'.
Conversely, once at the facility, there are a number of temp points that affect your rank, completely sep to you trying to be a gigachad. One of my main saves I only have 6 dom points. They really are not that important in the grand scheme of things compared to many other variables.
This is not a VN to play casually...nor try and get through quickly (on your first few play throughs) if you wish for a possitive result for the MC (unless you like being walked all over, no judging).

To see what your Kane's rank is here and now, in the bottom right corner of the game interface, click on "SanchoMod menu" and then click on "Toggle MiniStat screen", which will help you not to make a mistake.
