If everything he says in this post is completely truthful, than I understand his motives and it boosts my hope in the game by a bit, though he's admitting it'd be AT LEAST a full year before we see any tangible updates to KA.
Either way, i graduated HS in 2019 and i remember playing kobold adventure in sophomore year, so i've grown very attached to the game and just want to see every current path be fully fleshed out and the game actually finished. I see a lot of finished games on f95, but pretty much none of the games that i've been following since like 2018 have been finished, and hopefully this will be one of the first
If you want to be even more depressed. Of all the known games developed during 2018, only Corruption of Champions, SHRIFT and H.T.H Studios can be considered complete. Remember Crowjob in space? Yeah, the flash shutdown fucked him over real hard. And guess what? He was able reboot the game from scratch and upload an update at least every 6 months.

So let's check his cash claim. So I popped up Graptreon once more (last time I did that was on Doggiebones and Kuja's lok tribes) and during that period, it's a ballpark to say he earned around 600-900 dollars per month. So that is less than half the local minimum wage. Bear in mind the US national minimum is $1500 per month. Now, I can try getting data pre-pandemic chart of US states, but I don't have the time or the resources to even embark on something this gargantuos. However, it's easy to presume it's most like a US city, not in New York, SF or LA levels of expense, but somewhere in the urban heartlands.

If he is living in the cities, then I must say he's certainly a poor organizer of his finances. With plenty of part-time jobs to take, I'm baffled he has taken the dice rolls of full time, not realizing that there aren't many indie porn developers that actually manage to break even. If he's living in the rurality of America, then I'm baffled how around $700/month is below half the minimum wage.

There's a game I've payed and played. It's called Repella Fella. And what has this creator made? The South Park Ray Trilogy, a Multiple choice oriented game with varying side mechanics. He nuked his financial reserves to make repella fella. So the question is: What will TinkeringTurian do to make Kobold complete?

Honestly, I'm surprised TinkeringTurian's pateron is still going strong despite no major update in years.
Not that surprising people tend to forget the small payments, work on a game for a while then slow down, and then stop and keep promising updates soon until people forget about the game and forget to stop paying is a common tactic, do it properly and you keep most of your donors

Not saying this dev did that, tbh I have no clue what is going on with this one, but it is a common tactic I've seen in some other devs

Ain't they still do other stuff like commission? IIRC they abandoned KA not cuz they want to quit, but it's not financially viable for they to continue. Should be active seeking ways to monetise their work.

On top of that, if you were popular before, you likely gathered tons of simps that will shower you with money no matter what (many people really don't care about spending money)

looks like the creator account on this forum has been posting since this wednesday about a comic called bedabots, maybe that's a sign. good or bad, I do not know.

Can't say I have much faith in him now since that makes two products that he hasn't finished (doubt many even remember Heavy Scales at this point).

If the kobold wants more money, should learn COBOL. The entirety of every finance sector is built on decaying, almost forgotten COBOL. If you have any experience at all, or can learn, you can make seven figures a year.

7 figures is too optimistic, maybe low-mid 6 figures if he still wants this game to be finish, which I don't doubt.

I'm honestly surprised how many people are still talking about this, also on the post showing the creator saying its not dead is just not believable, its been soo long without any kind of update to the game even tiny ones there has been nothing, it is sadly dead as hell

Guess those people just don't have anything better to do. ;)
The fact is no matter Whether the Dev said it's Dead or Not Dead,
Only thing matters is if there's a game or a 'real' update comes out,
not some 'trust me bro' bullshit :KEK:
