The content of the update is not going to justify 13+ months of development time at all. This is the last part of act 1, sexual content with the mom/sister won't be until act 3. There is still 11 more parts to go (including this one) until there is sex with them and this update is going to be about the dance and it will be full of filler and random girls no one cares about.

This thread always cracks me up. Supporters and critics alike are delusional, probably because deep down many still like this mediocre game. But I don't, so I have no stake here.
People still think he has done anything at all, when NO EVIDENCE has ever been shown, even though it would be very easy for him to do so (for example, by showing in-game renders which he claims to have finished). How can you not see what the pin-ups scam is? it's a distraction tactic for him to avoid being questioned about actual renders. Pin-ups take less than an hour if you know what you are doing. Rendering them is also super fast. This dude is playing all of you (critics and supporters alike), like a restaurant telling you that your food is not yet ready and bringing you a candy every half an hour for 6 hours. It requires zero work, zero investment, and still fools blindly think it means the restaurant is cooking anything, hence why so many complain aobut it "taking too long" instead of what should be the rational thing to do: ask for evidence (any evidence) of actual work being done (a glimpse of the chef cooking your food).
Similar thing with the almost certainly commissioned animation he threw in that bullshit side release. Why has he failed to show another one? there is a big chance it's because he has never hired anyone, he just commissioned someone once.

Nah, he has probably done some stuff, just not a lot. He wouldn't abandon the game, he's making too much money to do that. Gumdrop is just lazy and he doesn't want to work, and since his patreon keeps giving him lots of money for being lazy and not working he has no incentive to put in serious work. It'll come out eventually, just who knows when because only gumdrop knows how much of the update is actually completed, and you can't trust a word he says.
I don't think he'd throw away thousands of dollars a month, he just wants to keep the thousands of dollars a month going on for as long as possible, and since gumdrop is lazy and doesn't want to work (and has delusional patreon supporters that let him get away with it), that means he'll sit on his ass doing nothing and take forever to develop one game, rather than put out updates regularly and finish the game sooner and then start another.
And I don't think there is anybody in this thread who believes Gumdrop has done anything he said he did, except for a certain Tree.
It's virtually abandoned, and he will keep getting thousands for at least another year. Someone in another thread mentioned Teacher's Pets as a similar case. That dude also vanished, and he was making a lot of money too. You are underestimating how costly it can be psychologically if your workflow is terrible (hence you are inefficient), and you have to invest more hours than in a full time job to get the job done. This is the main reason many people abandon games on this site (once it transitions from a hobby to a job).
Right now, he is literally getting money for doing nothing. The scam was already a massive success financially, probably more than continuing the game had he chosen to do so a year ago, because then he would have had to spend hundreds of hours working.
It would have been riskier too, because on top of having to buy new assets, if you don't know what you are doing story-wise, advancing the story risks alienating previous fans. This is also a porn game, and once sex happens, much of the appeal is gone and you can't stretch it forever. It's easy to conceal meandering writing when you start, but it's harder when you are suddenly in the middle of the story, sex has happened, and people start noticing the lack of an actual plot.
I'd bet that it will never come out in any reasonable form. Even if you are a scammer, you would 100% show evidence to keep people hooked. His inability to do so can only be explained if he hasn't done anything last year. Has he shown any in-game renders which require actual scene set up? has he shown any new assets? any clues about new characters, new environments, new clothes to hook patrons? I suspect he is also lying about the side release taking a few weeks. I think he spent several months doing it.
In fact, releasing an underwhelming update at this stage would be a death sentence. He is too far in and he knows it, so he will stretch this for as long as he can. Whether he eventually releases anything or not, it won't matter. The game will die, either because people realize they were scammed (the content he puts together for an update won't justify a year of work), or because he lets it die by stretching the wait for as long as he can.
In any case, there is no way he will continue once money starts running out (which is happening now, albeit slowly). Since he didn't do anything when incentive was at its highest (last year with pledges growing), he won't suddenly start doing it when incentive is at its lowest (now and the future), as pledges fall.

You need to make your own game with the same model for mom, and then u make it possible to fuck mom. That is the only way u will be able to fuck her, cuz if u wait for gumdrop to make it possible in a future updates u will grow old. I think that he wants to give the rights for this game to his grandchildren so they can milk patreons too and maybe they make a scene where u can fuck mother somewhere in 2040.
This game has been on hold for how long now? Over a year? More? And he's still getting 6k a month. Like what the hell??

Ya, in this extremely well written VN that is supposed to be realistic and slow developing, where the son's story has been repeating itself over and over again going in circles about morality and facing the fact that he wants to fuck his mom, how could that guy forget about the scene where the son rapes his aunt.

Well well well....Here we are again, your Noble Space Captain has twice run out of fuel, not once, twice, circling around the Gumdrops Void at my crews insistence the update was 'imminent.' Well this Captain is not impressed.

Do you know how much fuel costs? It costs a lot of fucking credits, wasting two full tankers on the absurd prospect that this Void is finally going to fart out an update has made me want to crash my ship into an asteroid and just end this madness. In order to re-coup my losses I've begun to throw the more useless members of the crew out of the airlock. It's proven very effective.
Not to mention that fucking Skeleton has glued himself to my windscreen preaching morals and ethics, I eventually sent little Suzy out to scrape him off after the space wipers couldn't shift him. I once again watched from starboard as he floated away into the dark reaches of space, spouting off unfunny jokes and moral panderings.
Ah sorry, sorry, sorry...It's a little frustrating for this old space dog is all, as I was determined not to write another Log until the update FINALLY dropped. Alas, it has dawned on me that perhaps this new 'illusive' deadline will also not be met.
Those driven mad by the Gumdrops Void provide little entertainment now, most have simply starved to death, unable to look after themselves properly in their broken mentally state, most have simply perished to the elements. Those skeletal creatures that remain barely etch out the words 'Update...sooooooooooooon.'

I wish I could muster up some type of wit or humor, I have pondered, wondering whether this update at last would give me and my crew something to talk about, some new insight into the game.
Was the update worth it?
Did it 'shake things up' and be the heart wrenching drama it promised?
Did I enjoy it?
Was it artistically cohesive? Or would I notice the grand artistic improvement as teased?
Did the fucking skeleton show up again?
All of this and more I wanted to talk about...but I can't.
I can't, because this is the Gumdrops Void, it is nothingness.
In that nothingness is nothing.
There is only so much you can say about nothing.
...And that is all we have left at this point, nothing.
Some of you have anger, why?
That would require something to actually be angry at, but I'm starting to theorize that this update is becoming more mystical than the Loch Ness Monster or Big foot. The people throwing money at the project have been doing it for well over a year, there's no point caring anymore, they're probably the same people buying deeds for the Golden Gate bridge from a guy in a Bangkok bar selling it for fifty bucks. There's no point stopping them, and you shouldn't care anymore. I don't.
I don't even care if the update is trash at this point, it'd just be something new. Your Captain started these logs to keep you entertained, but your Captain ran out of gas at least five Logs back, at this point, it's just psychological warfare to try and think of new and exciting ways to talk about...nothing.
This update has become the adult gaming communities equivalent of Half-Life 3 or Star Citizen. Even the memes simply cannot sustain themselves for this long.
What new insights can I offer you?
What new adventures can I share? There are none, just a maddening patrol around the Void that has gone on long enough.
I've strongly started to emphasize with George from Of Mice and Men, If I could, I would take this update out back and put it down, but I can't.
Some of the straggling fans will take pride in this post, and remark "Ha! He still cares! See? SEE!?!"
I don't.
At this point, this is a Felini Death March, all hope and expectations are gone.
I just can't look away though, I need to see how it finally ends.
