Nah, he's dense. Maya hasn't told him how she really feels. Probably even had to reassure Derek she still likes girls and she and the MC are just messing around/she's experimenting etc. I'm guessing Derek either hasn't seen Josy in the flesh or maybe saw her once when Maya was out and about. No, remember Josy lives in the same place as the MC as for how they met no idea we still don't know an awful lot about their relationship and why everything is complicated between them both.
don't know if its my PC or some choices i'm making in the game but it keeps crashing every 3 minutes. also is there a walkthrough that details the different paths in the game?

Going from memory I think Josy says something like being in a relationship where you don’t see each other sometimes for a week sucks and is probably why she wants out. Could be wrong on who mentions it but sure it was said.
