People are allowed to dislike something even on the basis of surface impressions.

You can dislike whatever you want, but to quit a game you like because they add something you don't like, even though it can be avoided completely, is fucked up, no matter how you look at it. It is one thing if you never played, and won't give it a chance because of that tag, but we are talking about people who already play and like the game.

No, I don't rage quit anything, I'm not a juvenile. There is just so much content available that no one needs to keep following something if it doesn't 100% suit their taste. It's also just a preference, and one that I have ignored a few times as well.

In my experience, if you do that, then you will never get to play anything. No game is 100% to my tastes anyway, not even the ones I work on, sometimes you have to make compromise.
That said, any content that you don't have to see, doesn't matter. If you don't see it, then it might as well not be in the game, so the only problem is you 'being juvenile' as you say.

Do what you want, but a life without compromise is going to be quite limited, and frankly, if I don't have to see the content, then there really isn't even a compromise.

With this game in particular I feel like I'm collecting events based on the way the replay list is presented. It feeds my completionist side and any "avoidable" content in this title wouldn't really feel avoidable at all to me because I'd feel required to check it off the list.

In a straight VN with branching I'd feel differently since I would expect that I wouldn't be able to see everything in a single playthrough anyway.

I think Rachel's weakness to be more accurate should be vanity instead of body jealousy.
This is probably due to the fact Rachel has been laughed too often in the past about her body
and thus become too worry about others' opinons.

I have to disagree on that one, if vanity were her weakness, then she would spend her time trying to look better, working out, wearing makeup, fancy clothes, etc. She just feels ashamed of her body, and is envious of the women who have a better figure than her.

Vanity sounds like the manifestation of a deeper issue. The only ones that have shown that trait are Alice and Cass... Maybe Liz if the exhibitionism bit goes that way.

I think as well, it should be optional. That imo would increase the fan base rather shrink it. If it is not a necessesity, maybe an option to select or deselect certain kinks before game starts? Dont know if this is possible with that engine

The topic was vanity... hmm Webster defines Vanity as "1 : inflated pride in oneself or one's appearance 2 : something that is vain, empty, or valueless" Other then Donna Paterson I don't see any of the girls showing any real vanity. And it's more Pride then Vanity when it comes to Donna. Actually I think the topic should be more about the girls Pride then Vanity. Non of the girls have acted Vain only prideful. And can you blame them? they where adults and once again have been turned into wards or worse chattel.
Debbie Harris is not Vain she just a strong person who's pride has been deeply wounded by her situation; and so she lashes out and seeks to bully and control things and others around her in order to heal.
Cassandra Heart as well, she's a beautiful woman who understands her situation and is just being realistic. Her solution, one she is forced to use is the same as that of many women through out the ages. Her standards are just to high.
Maxine Fischer is more an Idealist then a prideful person. But her pride in her Idealism is her downfall as reality has caught up to her Idealism... That sounded better in my head.
Then there's Ada Campbell and Harriot Rose, what pride they may have is with cause. Ada with her photography was heading to university. And Harriot was already a successful owner of a small business. They simply fell into the hand of some deceitful individuals.
Finally Amy Street, oh poor Amy (I'm being sincere here) one truly deserving to be proud. But alas the world is so prudish and repressed that Amy's need for money and her actions destroyed her future. Not because what she did was wrong but because of the shame others have for themselves... anyways
Otherwise the other girls are all good little girls who simply landed into the clutches of THE HEADMASTER.

People have been complaining on many games - or their forums - about new aspects introduced into a game, and I can see that. It's not only the fetishes themselves by the way, sometimes stuff just feels tacked on to satisfy a clientele and doesn't work with the story itself as well. As you can see from my signature, I am in Devian's camp here though: if it is avoidable (and not by reading a spoiler heavy walkthrough, but by obvious decisions in game) it doesn't count for me. However I also get the OCD part, which I myself have in some parts (and also experience in branching VNs - I want to see every ending), and while it may be nobody's problem but mine, or more precisely because of that, the solution lies with me, and it may mean I cannot play this game because I would feel unaccomplished by either doing stuff I don't want to do or fighting against my desire to "complete" the game.

That being said, I also think that there is always a risk with adding new kinks to a game if it isn't what the dev would do themselves but to make the crowd happy, and that is that it will just be not as good content wise if devs don't know and don't like what you're doing. (This is meant generally, not specifically for this game and Altos and Herdone and any possible stuff they may have in mind.)

As a completionist I totally get what your saying. I can't begin to think of how many games where ruined for me because I could not avoid some of the contents. also you reminded me of the John thing going on in THE COMPANY.

Yeah, I agree, it needs to feel natural, it needs to make sense, I mean bad writing is bad writing, no matter if it is a kink you like nor not.

While I have that OCD completionism, when I can't bring myself to avoid something, I only blame myself for that. Oh do I ever know what you mean. There have been games that I really liked the structure and story, but then one or two kink elements added to the story where so bad or the kink was taken to the extreme... let's just say, it left such a bad taste in my mouth and upset me so much I felt it physically. Hell once it bothered me so much I tried to describe my disgust with the content on the thread, I got a warning for kink shaming... And I'm a pretty kinky and nasty person... So I'm ever so grateful when the option is given.
Anyways, when I like a game I'm willing to put up with one or two minor things but when it's goes against the grain I just can't even when it had content I fucken love. You know how few Exhibition games there are? I could count on one hand how many good exhibition games there are.
