This and the HHS version by aztec are definitely better if you like a little game but then want to get to the sexy stuff right after. HHS+ is a sandbox, and the events in general are spread out more and take more work to get. You can spend a lot of time tweaking it to get them more rapidly, but personally for most people I'd start with this.

not bad, kinda liked the original and like this one a bit,, but the random negative events sometimes fuck you up so bad it make it impossible to play at times,,, i got the equipment stolen one 7 time in 4 years,, and in another game i got the suicide 6 time in a row,, even tought i was raising happiness

I think fires occur when the behaviour score of your students is too low.

Im losrt how do you improve the schools stats? I keep losing does it have something to do with the colors? i cant figure it out and i read the write up someone already posted still not sure why hey sometimes work and sometimes dont for the same class.

minor playthrough cheat
so any event that changes stats or gives colors that you can click ok for has a minor glitch that if you click multiple times while it disappears the effect will be repeated. for example the early kiss scene that gives red balls or the ero machine event. if your quick with your clicking you can get 4~9 extra red from it. the same can be done when the government gives you money though at the cost of reputation.
WARNING- any bad effects will also multiply such as reputation decrease or stat decreases. to properly utilize, keep it only to events you know are safe. and beware of clicking twice on any bad events, i found this cheat after losing 1.5k from a school fire by trying to hurry through it. once you hit ok you don't need to click again the next message fades on its own.
edit: my apologies the ero machine costs morality so keep that in mind. the early event to talk to a student on the subway to get 'blue balls' doesn't so you may want to just farm outside of school events early on.

as far as i can tell the stats effect how easily you get the matching color orbs and the how likely you are to succeed with the class colors even with very high stats it can still fail from time to time. for the colors per class i would personally leave it grey to start until you have built up some stats with events for the first year. then add the class color that matches your higher stats. the most reliable way to gain stats is by finding where to visit for positive events and avoiding where your likely to hit a snag. for example the girl who gets bullied in the class room is an easy somewhat farmable event. late game i always leave the pool club closed because for some reason after you crank the perversion up no one visits it. so if your hurting for reputation keep spamming sports and art events while getting the blank "nothing happened" from the pool. if you have no clubs this also works in the club area.
I found a mini cheat that you can use. When you buy things in the extra menu (for new schools etc.) if you buy them and close the game you keep the unlock as well as getting the orbs you spent for it back. I did test but you cant farm a save game for a school you already completed unfortunately, so you still have to somewhat play to get the orbs from what I found.
Another tip if you are having trouble with Reputation dropping Sports Tournament and Art Exposition tend to give it at a high rate. I tend to farm it up a bit in the first few years before the students get really high Sex stat to save my self in the late game.

Thanks for the upload. After playing HHS2 and ashford academy and later hhs+ i had completely forgotten what the original even looked like, that begun all the games. Hard to believe it's been so long since the first game. Doesn't feel like such a long time ago.
My game crashed at the end of 10 years with a dialogue between 2 women about how well-behaved the students were. The game (window) proper shut down leaving a frozen dialogue screen (with non-h picture) that I can't do anything with. Is this what people are meaning by calling it "incomplete"? I had to reboot my system to get rid of the damn thing and that's a game-killer in my book.
It's a shame, I was really liking it in spite of the unexplained color system and even though I was only getting teasing h-scenes.

That signals the game as over and the dialogue was the ending you got. There are a few different endings that are obtained based on certain stats you have. Usually you can close out of the endings, but maybe you ran into a glitch? There is another patch that updates the game to 1.004 and fixes some of the remaining issues in 1.003.
no matter where a run the installer version or the non-installer version i can't get it to even start up from the exe no error's just nothing tried using all type of compatability and run as admin and nothing still no matter what i do i can't get it to work.
