Here is the rework version of the game, we re-wrote and rendered new scenes in chapter 1 to better match the writing of the other chapters, please enjoy

After the short story i've been waiting on the main story to continue for ages and it's a rework.

Still love the game but it's been a long time now... want more story.

I would say it’s massively different, we reworked 6 out of the 8 scenes in the chapter

the office scene is still there. pretty much how MC handles meliisa after that is what changes. its a bit better but yeah. the one major thing that ppl didnt like about the game is still in the game. bummed me out a bit but eh whatever

I would not rate the writing right after the office if that was what was changed. The MC acts like a child, lost his cool and let the rage spill over right outside your rivals office in the parking lot nearly choking someone to death. Let's hope the cameras did not pick that up and his rival decides to use that against you as well. But your assistant nearly blacks out only to jump up and have a full blown conversation. I guess nearly choking to death doesn't put any fear in you to just shut the f up.

I think a lot of terrible lines are in that dialogue just to get across she is worthless to you so it did not matter she banged your rival. You even repeat some lines again such as she was garbage. Whoever wrote this, I hope it was for free. He does literally repeat some lines twice in that parking lot, go and read it. Maybe slightly different, but repeating the same thing over does not make it clever. Also if his words got to her, no one jumps up after nearly blacking out to continue to provoke if they were worried.

he also says, does anyone care to give you that much attention to her, he clearly did, not even waiting to drive away to go psycho. My god. If all this rewrite was just to make him look strong after his secretary bangs his rival you may have just as well erased her banging him to go this extreme just to paper over it.

.......... my god that pool scene, I am going to eat pasta after I kill you ........... then bangs her after he just witnessed her fucked by his rival. would not be putting my dick near her after the performance with him. She even literally called his bluff saying he would not kill her because of Todd and he did exactly that. Dudes acting like psycho and comes off pretty weak if you are reading what is going down. He ends the scene with the line "the first stage of breaking was successful" do you the writer even know what you are rambling about. I am turning this off now. I am even certain I rated this game before, I don't remember any of this nut job stuff at the beginning last time, so this is what must of changed. wow.

08 February 2019 to 27 December 2019 = 503 renders

05 January 2020 to 19 August 2020 = 894 renders

meanwhile = nothing at all

04 March 2021 to 10 March 2021 = 242 renders

I think that with a little more work and perseverance this game could get really good and could get a lot more support from the community because it has a lot of potential so dev work hard on your game and you will see the rest will follow because the story is great and the renders are of good quality

At some point you get to choose if you just want to save your company or completely destroy Todd, and I don't remember that being there before. I might be wrong, because it's been a while since I played the original version, but if it's really a new option, it will most likely mess up the old saves, because they won't have that variable defined. When I saw the scene with Melissa in Todd's office was exactly the same as before I just skipped everything until the party, where you can get rid of her.

EDIT: since from what i read in the thread, the chp1 remake isnt pleasant or was even worth it, few new scenes but overall the same story in the end.

You can stay calm that it is for free, yes there are several lines in the MCs thoughts where he clearly explains why he's doing what he's doing - it is a bluff, she knows it's a bluff. That doesn't really matter in the end, because it serves its purpose - to make her remind herself who she is and what kind of a person she is. For the same reason it's intentional that he repeats himself - picture it this way, if someone is very insecure, degenerate and well aware of his own issues, do you need to convince him what kind of a person he is? Or do you need to make him think about it and come to his own conclusions?

As regards the "losing his cool", MC is human. You're human. You lose your cool, so does he. I'm personally not a fan of the all-powerful, all-knowing, always cool, always beats everyone up and wins everything guy. He has flaws and it's been established arrogance is probably his biggest flaw - you as the MC, if you were in his position of the golden CEO of one of the most valuable companies in the world, you'd probably have developed some very flawed arrogance as well. Now imagine if the person you probably least respect and consider the weakest suddenly destroyed you and your entire life. You wouldn't lose your cool? And yes, Melissa never shuts the F up. That's mentioned multiple times. The smallest dogs bark the loudest

Yes, a lot of this would probably be better if there was a very long scene explaining his thought process and additional things it'd heavily break the pace of the game if there was a very long thought scene explaining it from A to Z. One of the biggest complaints was that the whole sequence of events there, with breaking Melissa, was way too long. So...

Anyway, it's unfortuante people don't really like the dialogue and the update. Personally I'm very critical to myself and I liked it because it really shortened a lot of that bloat there that made the scene drag on a little and I don't feel a drastic change in the MCs behavior - but of course I'm not the most objective judge

That wouldn't be an issue if both of those scenes didn't end with the exact same monologue "I could end you right now etc." and the exact same phrase "For once, it looked like your words got to her". Obviously the same thing can't happen "for once" two times in a row.

To be honest I skipped almost everything after I saw Todd still fucked Melissa, because I don't intend to keep her around after that, so I don't really care how the MC is training her, and I can't really comment on the rewrite, but I saw that while checking the script for some new variables and I thought I should let someone from the dev team know.

Yeh actually only realised that after it was released. It's one of those absolute brainfarts moments, it was meant to be two scenes as you say, was changed and even though we talked about it being one scene from two, it never struck me that there's several lines that repeat

So thanks for mentioning it, I was even puzzled why the guy I quoted said some lines "repeat". The MC does repeat himself, but like the entire line?

Anyway yeh a lot of people skipped the scenes with Melissa, which is why they're now much, much shorter, as I was trying to explain.
