I have to agree with that ... not to mention to me at least all the characters look the same with the few exceptions that have small/normal breast.

Just roughly guessing didn't summertime saga earn more then a few million by now assume that at current monthly standing they get assuming roughly 800k a year after cuts.

I played the game as it is now, and yes it's 5 hour content with only 1 chapters out of 22, buying it now doesn't seem worth, but still if you are satisfied with what you when you play this demo just buy it.


BTW, the sex is not so good, but humor worked well on me, and the space and on ground fight were cool too :D

The fact they're releasing an early access, instead of the promised complete game, is for a cash injection. They spent that money on 3 years of expanded staff to cover the untenable stretch goals of the Gofundme. This is all they have. They don't even have 9 scenes per girl. Kili recycles two of the animation loops of the earlier girls. You ask yourself how that happens if they had their shit together and "80% of the game" just waiting to be released.

Most games on this site are parody so can't be directly monetized and/or supported by dripfeed monthly pledges through their development cycle.
Subverse got 2 million dollars and years of time to complete the game first.
They didn't choose to go early access, pledge for ongoing development. They chose to produce a fixed price, preorderable videogame. They already failed, this is just the contractual minimum to square things with GoFundme for all the money they accepted.

They sold themselves as being the extra most bestest with real™ videogame™ production™ unlike anything thats ever been attempted.

If you expect this to ever truly be finished, with this being their best foot forward after years of devhell, you're just setting yourself up for some more cope when it never materializes.

If I was a betting man, absolute best case if they don't just fold entirely (as the playernumbers and "sales" aren't showing them as getting much new money, just 60,000 outstanding steam keys being claimed.) you're just going to see "22 chapters" converted into 3 more galaxy builds; the remaining 7 girls shovelwared out with massive overlap of recycled animation rigs Just like killi, and in the endgame the big bad evil empress will lose her powers/purity from monster rape. Universe saved. No refunds.

If they weren't planning this, they wouldn't have thrown in the unrelated lategame cutscenes to pad the build and exposition dump their way through the galactic conflict plot.

If they had "loads more content" they would have surely shown it. You telling me the best they could do is 5s video loops in a game that was bragging about sex? Why are there even recycled scenes wtf.

The other chapters must be godly long... otherwise you'll have a very short game.

I wasn't really satisfied though, mostly because i knew it wasn't finished and it was pointless to get too into it at this stage, but also the fact that i'm really not into strategy or twin stick shooters.

But yeah, i'll give it a fair shake when it's out of early access.

At least I didn't have to spend 30 bucks on this demo of a game. But still, could've been my worst 10 bucks.
Well, lesson learned I guess.

There are barely any vanilla scenes lmao. Unless seeing an alien have their way with your heroine is considered "vanilla" then sure. The game isn't "dark" but it surely is not vanilla in the least. Most people don't like open relationships.

The game managed to piss off:
1. Vanilla fanboys who are upset there are no actual "waifus" in the game; only promiscuous women who are down to fuck whomever.
2. NTR/hardcore fanboys who wanted to see more of the violation stuff Studio FOW is known for. It's amazing how they included just enough "NTR" to piss off vanilla casuals but still made it weak enough to be unsatisfying to any NTR lover.

The game's just a big shade of grey... tolerated in general but not really exceptional.

I'm not actually surprised if they went their way to sell the same game with all the contents (including beasty actions and planned scenes that can't fit into the Steam demographic) unlocked somewhere else lmao.

Loops from guys like hydrafx, yeero, lvl3toaster, baronstrap and many others are better. Right now subverse have same length of 5-10sec loop as any other animation out there. But do they look better? in what way? They are not detailed, light is awful, liquids are awful, textures are mediocre, animation itself is not that good. Things that you expect from FOW - some kind of context of a scene - is absent.
Except the loops from those people aren't good, they look good, but the animation itself is mediocre.

Take this recent HydrafX animation for example

The animation has very nice lighting, and texture rendering, due to the use of Blender, but outside of that
  • Her body is oriented in such a way that there only has to be minimal movement on the boobs.
  • Her hands, arms, and face, are almost static outside of some slight back and forth movement on the arms.
  • Shes not actually impacting the guy's body so there doesn't have to be any real ass jiggle.
  • The first half of the animation is just the same basic in-out movement repeated for 12 seconds, and the last 5 seconds are that same movement from a different angle.
And you can see these same issues in FPSBlyck, Yeero, and Lvl3, animations as well




Now compare this to something like the animation of Lily getting fucked by the dildo machine in Subverse. In that animation
  • Lily's body is constantly leaning forward, and arching back, due to the pleasure she is feeling.
  • Her face is making various different expressions, with eye, mouth, and eyebrow, movement being common.
  • There is a notable stomach budge from the machine pushing into her, and said bulge gets more intense as the machine goes faster.
  • During the climax scene she leans forward heavily due to the intensity of the machine, and her legs falls off the side of the couch.
  • As the speed of the machine speed goes up, and Lily starts moving around more, there is more movement in the boobs and ass.
The lighting and skin texturing looks worse then Blender animations due to the use of Unreal, but there is significantly more actual animation here.

HydraFX, Yeero, FPSBlyck, and other Blender animations have better lighting and skin texture rendering due to it being Blender, but when it comes to the actual animation itself its bare bones basic stuff you can see people like Noname55 do in SFM. Its not even particularly good vanilla porn because even most vanilla porn tends to have more intensity. This is a common problem with Blender animations because Blender is known to pretty much shit itself once you try going harder, and is in many ways less able to do physics based movement compared to something like SFM, or Unreal, which have, you know, actual physics engines.

Its also why you don't really see many Blender animators making longer movies. Its incredibly difficult as Blender doesn't do intensity, or jiggly well. You can see this problem crop up in something like NYL's longer blender videos.

He has these girls with massive futa dicks, but they are barely fucking each other. Its the slowest blowjobs, the slowest handjobs, the slowest sex, possible because Blender can't do intensity real well. Compare that to something like the Kunoichi movies by FOW, or even most of the loops in Subverse, and you can see the night and day difference.

When StudioFOW announced Subverse, I was intrigued, but also wary. I mean, their anims are legendary, but they have no prior experience developing a videogame. Judging from what people who tried the game say here... well, it seems my skepticism was warranted after all.

Right now for me, definitely not. When it hits v1.0 my plan will be to buy it on a 50-75% off sale as there is just too much lackluster in the game, particularly with the adult content (very disappointing) to consider paying more for it, but I did like enough of the game (graphics & voiceacting) to want to give them something for it.

they should have done as Ive said many times in this thread throw a demo on steam and sell the game in your own website it doesnt get easier than that tbh
