Well, you can go public, it doesn't change anything. As long as both sides are okay with it. If you can handle the social pressure, obviously.
Yeah in The Netherlands brothers and sisters are even allowed to entered registered partnerships that legally are pretty close to marriage. Child birth is the only thing that is forbidden. What people also tend to overlook is that two women living together or family members well into their 60's though never overly accepted, somehow people tended to ignore it or give reasonable explanations for it. Even if they knew more might be happening if they were considered part of the community. That is nothing new and was actually something that happened over 100 years ago as I know from the stories of a few Grand Aunts of mine.

We were actually trying to avoid arguments like yours speaking in terms of pattern of behavior rather than on individual behaviors and the persona that Jaye demonstrates to the MC. Allow me to elaborate, Stone Fox Studios wrote Jaye's character in a surprisingly consistent way that allows us to see her consistent reactions to a wide gamut of situations, for example: The way she reacted to not receiving a call even though she blocked the MC's number.

We were having a banter precisely about how she overreacts (in general) to the MC.

So even if we project ourselves in the character we can agree that all of us (even you Skylaroo) would avoid such a person in real life and that is how we were having fun, arguing stupid hypotheticals.
Personally I actually disagree with your opinion that Jaye's reaction has been consistent that she overreacts in general. And the example you gave actually shows exactly how the player often easily lay the blame on the other character rather than the MC.

In your example, yes MC's number is blocked, but Jaye is adamant that she didn't block the number. It's possible that she blocked it long ago and she simply forgot having done so. It's also possible someone else blocked MC's number on her phone. We don't know the answer (yet?), but the fact of the matter is that she's angry at MC for not calling her without realizing that she had his number blocked. If she was angry at MC while fully knowing she blocked his number, then sure you'd have a case to say that she was being a bitch. But she didn't. We can believe that she really didn't realize about it because she clearly wanted to receive the call from MC. There was no reason for her to lie about not realizing his number is blocked.

Then if we actually talk about the overreaction in general itself, it is interesting how you viewed her as the one overreacting despite the fact that:

1. MC was the one suddenly ignoring Jaye when they were little. Good intention for sure, but is it not an overreaction to suddenly cut-off your best friend like that? Yes, it is.
2. MC was the one suddenly announcing to the whole party that Jaye was almost raped. Again, good intention, but is it not an overreaction to announce it to many people like that? Yes, it is.
3. MC was the one who suddenly left overseas without telling the family. Obvious overreaction.

This is exactly what I meant with the players projecting themselves to the MC. The players cared more about how the other characters reacted to them, but did not take extra time to look at what the MC did. When Jaye challenged the MC, many people considered that as overreaction while being oblivious that many of her actions were simply reactions to MC's actions.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I'd avoid such a person in real life. If I were in MC's shoes, I'd most definitely behave differently than what he did, and then this would most likely result in Jaye behaving very differently as well.

1. If I didn't suddenly ignore Jaye when we were little, we could simply grow up being best friends.
2. This might then lead to Jaye not having to spend time with that rapey guy in high school.
3. This then gave me no reason to run away from home because I didn't have to announce to the party that she was almost raped.
4. Surely no reason for her to block my phone number, right?
5. When our parents died, I could enter the church even at the very last minute because my relationship with Jaye is good.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that Jaye is blameless in this game. I still maintain that both MC and Jaye each have their own faults. I just understand more why Jaye did what she did rather than making conclusion that she did something just because that's how she is.

I hope this makes things clearer for you.

Isn't that everywhere else as well? The only thing keeping you from doing it is that it's taboo and that knocking up your own relatives usually produces funny looking offsprings.
In some countries or states, I believe it's illegal to have intimate relationship with your relatives. Not in France. As long as we're not talking about rape. Otherwise, incest is an aggravating circumstance.

Looks like The Netherlands are pretty progressist about this. I'm not really surprised.
That being said, child birth isnt prohibited here, but you won't be able to claim the child as your own.

Nah the social stigma and taboo is still there, but as with many things loads of people, except for those that always want to decide how others should live based upon their morals, are willing to overlook or look for so called innocent explanations like that brother is just a lifetime bachelor that needs his sister to take care of him. :p

Concerning the laws, yeah overall we do not really tend to legalize peoples personal choices too much as long as they are voluntarily plus consensual and why not have as a society all the benefits of siblings living together (or gay people) falling under same kind of rules like married hetero couples with same benefits and disadvantages more or less to them.

Inb4 people start demanding the normalisation of incest on twitter lmao

But anyway, I hope Jaye doesn't go too far into what I call "intertwined Erynn" levels of overreacting and dumb, I really hope we get a stern talking scene with the MC and her to resolve the misunderstandings.

Dude this is my last response, again you are correct in your points but it is not what me and the others were bantering. We all agree that the MC is captain retard but the meaning of words is important, when I use the word persona (as in public persona, as in not your real self). I use it to separate Jaye's inner dialogue from her actions because we can clearly see she knows she is wrong but chooses to aggravate the MC by making all about herself, not admitting (to others) she is wrong, putting the MC down, etc (mostly after MC's return and being told by the lawyer and her own friend that she is wrong). That is why I called her toxic (search for the traits of a toxic character). In this story I believe the only factor why she is still around is because they were siblings.

I will finish by saying that you my friend are a masochist by telling us you are not sure you would avoid a girl like her in real life. Consider the flow of information between just the MC and Jaye and not like a reader, if you try to defend a woman you like from harassment and she sends you packing and years later she stills treats you like shit, you do not know why she treats you like that but you keep coming back, shit man you might need to know you are worth more than that.

Just as an afterthought, the only time in real life I have witnessed a woman being angry for someone stepping in to defend her in a similar situation was a married woman being attacked by her own husband, she turned around and started attacking her would be defender :WaitWhat: crazy right?

I will wait until the game is developed further to leave an actual review but if it stays at this level of quality throughout its entireity F95 is gonna need to add another star to the rating system!

If this was a play or movie my reaction would go something like this: 'Stands up with misty eyes and a sorrowful yet somehow proud look on his face as he applauds and cheers'

The writing is so engaging I felt more like I was reading a favorite novel than an adult VN, the kind that you pick up and read until u wonder why it so dark & realize you've spent the hours entranced, plus there's Lewds & well done Lewds at that if a bit dimly lit in certian scenes. Chasing sunsets has it all, humor, suspense & drama, amazing project thus far, Can't Wait until the next update !!

I just saw the screenshots. That looks more realistic than my real life. Haha! I will definitely play this game! Thank you!
Kent and I were working on the game this afternoon, and I read this post to him. He LOL'd and made {redacted's} "O-face" a little more realistic.

Renders are taking a bit longer since we moved to 4K image size and are reducing those to 1080P as our sharpening process looks better when applied at higher resolution.

Should finish up the second-to-last scene for art of Chapter 2 tomorrow, then there's only one (rather large) scene left. See the light at the end of the tunnel.

If you manage to keep up this level of quality in terms of the story for the entirety of the vn AND manage to provide consistent updates, this will go down as THE BEST game on this site. There are a hand full of great games here but nothing comes close to this in terms of immersiveness. I mean there were moments when I forgot I was playing an avn because I was so fkin engrossed in the story. Very few games manage to do that.

Dear DEVs, I'll do a little math. Beginning of VN chapter 1 on September 25, 2020. Chapter 2 released on February 7, 2021. So about 4 months for 2 chapters or even 2 months per chapter, which is quite remarkable. Obviously, everything depends on the content of the chapters and their complexity. Come on, I give you 3 months for each of the next 8 chapters (you had better put the turbo and not take a vacation ...) and in this case, you will not have to regret having made me miss the end of story all your life. Thank you very much ...
