No this cannot be played without VR. I just tried again on pc and no button interacts with the start menu. So you will need to remove the "Game can be played without VR." from OP#1 to stop confusion, frustration, and wasting people's time and internet download cost.

I mentioned before: you can interact with the menu by walking through it, I know it's frustrating trying to make your hands touch the buttons. Randomly customizable.

but you can play with link cable or via air link...i personally use air link and it works like charm

I have a question, would the team be working on a full desktop support for the controlling system, It would really boost up for those who can't afford a vr or headset.

that really is a shame you cant play without VR , at least not well, i would definitely support this game if you could
i mean even i could afford VR i truly truly dislike the notion of wearing the headset,
but wow this would be interesting to try

i tried using vridge riftcat to have the VR stream to my phone and play using mouse + keyboard for VR controls, and in theory it seems to work as the riftcat 2.0 software has the options and watching a video on it, except my phone isn't compatible with the mobile app version required,

But just a thought for anyone who might have a better phone than me ( assuming that's even the issue ) ,
try googling 'riftcat + mouse and keyboard' and you'll see what i mean, hopefully it'll work
