I apologize for my recent absence. After the last update and thorough bug testing, I decided that it's in my (everyone's) best interest to clean the code of the game. The game will have a totally different approach than before. Many of the earlier events had that "surprise effect", however, you were forced to navigate the rooms in some order. This time I added one more feature to the list where you can fast travel between rooms. As you guessed this made the development harder (buggier) and with that, I decided it is better to start clean. Start fresh. Also, the game size will be smaller.
Fear not, A Better Tomorrow will continue where it left off. I'll maybe add Part Two to the name, to avoid confusion. You can still repeat, see some of the old scenes, is it from the laptop or interacting with the characters. With this decision, I also just couldn't leave some of the old scenes i.e. bathroom. They will be updated, as well as the character clothing (in some cases). MC will also get an overhaul and my plan is, as the story continues we will see more changes about him.
The laptop screen is also updated. As his room is the main centre of operations, I don't want just to force the player backtracking to it for an event or anything else. In a way, I want to reward the player for checking out the laptop or the side stuff around his room.
Now that can be possible with two clicks. As you see on the first image, the map screen is showing "Town" and "Mc's room" options on top, in respective order for other rooms sorted by importance. Jenny. Mia, Sophia and so on. I am sure this will be a welcomed change, dropping in and out of important areas can be done in a second, with updated character icons and their current location.
Some screens showing laptop changes (it is still in development, need to make some small changes around the text).
Also some Mia (with her updated outfit), and Jenny (in a new bathroom side event) scenes.
I do not have an exact date when the new update will be released. I want to make sure everything is working as intended, and the game has enough content. I will update you guys on the release date.

Hi gents,
When I started making A Better Tomorrow, I had two things in mind. Make a game with no grinding and players shouldn't read from a walkthrough to complete an event.
This is where I failed. As further I went into the development, the events got harder, confusing, an overall nightmare. When I released 0.24.9, I was indirectly forced to write a walkthrough, I had it enough!
After long conversations and received feedback from my fans/supporters, it was obvious, start clean and learn from the mistakes.
This is where 'Part Two' comes in. Clean code, easier navigation... events should reward the player not force them to pay for a walkthrough or follow one.
The story will continue where it left off.
But...
If you are a new player, please play the older version first (v0.24.9/aka PART ONE), which gives an overall intro to the story and the characters with the provided walkthrough.
Also, do note that ABT was always intended to be a semi-sandbox experience, with no grinding elements. If you don't like it, then make your own game with blackjack and hookers. Just kidding, give it a try and play the game without someone holding your hand. Explore. For those who are interested in the story, I would advise checking everything. Won't help you here either, so find the pieces and glue them together. Sophia's story is pushed a little bit (in some side activities/conversations) and should give some insight on her background.
In this update, I removed the logbook completely and added simpler navigation and event discovery, with this I hope I can encourage player exploration and achieve that 'surprise effect' as it was intended.

So we can't start a new replay from the beginning in Part 2 ver 0.35? Will we miss anything from Part 1 if we don't play it?
Do I remember the earlier versions badly or did the entire tone of the game change? Suddenly mc is out for revenge with Jenny and seems angry. Or did that also happen earlier and I just don't remember it?

I'm getting the same problem. Here's my save.There's a slight problem when you wake up after sleeping with Jenny: the game freezes each time with black screen and the phrase "Flower... a plant!"
