Doesn't really matter if a role is virtual or played by an actor. Both are not real.

The only thing that matters is that the part is well written (and in case of an actor playing that part he doesn't suck at his job).
Also sounds/music that fit and support the right mood for the scene.

If well done that is what gets you hooked.

If you like quality time and are not here for just a quick fap that is.

The end of Planescape Torment for example moved my heart more than 99% of movies that are made to do so.

In an older version you would type out random stuff on your keyboard and it'd slowly type out the message you would send, I really liked that.

I've seen that before in a few other games. It's a hit or miss for me depends on my mood. When I'm settled and in good mood it's fun. But sometimes after a rough day that same option in the same game looks arduous.

In all honesty, I have always loved reading and visual novels. When I read a novel or play a game I immerse myself in the character and experience. This. Music is absolutely key to produce the desired effect. It sets the mood in a way nothing else can. With the right render and the right music, you don't even need writing to convey emotion many times.

Currently it takes about 5-6 months for a half-chapter. The dev said his hardware kept hitting its limits and didn't allow him to increase the pace, he's also working on 2 games at the same time. So if you really love the game you can consider donating to him so he can upgrade his hardware and work more effectively.
