I can see why you would think that. But that applies for both sides. Have those gunners on your team and you can kill enemies that is not visible on the map yet. It is fair.
A challenge is something you can deal with and overcome. And critically it is something you can overcome through either skill, planning or some other satisfying investment of time and energy that than leads to a feeling of satisfaction as a result.

Having an enemy you can't interact with at all but who can't hit you is the opposite of that. Even if there was a counter it would be one you couldn't interact with beyond buying it which wouldn't be terribly satisfying.

I agree with you on the unit type thing though. No need to front load the game with content that is better served up slowly to match the game as it progresses through its intended difficulty curve.

To clarify things, I just meant it is more story and gameplay focused rather than just porn being handed to you like a slide-show. I don't enjoy those kind of games, and I refuse to make it like that. People might not like the way I do things, but this way I can enjoy what I do, and that's the most important to me rather than support or money. But don't worry, porn will never be just an afterthought (y)

Thanks you guys for putting effort on giving feedbacks, I really appreciate it! I just hope that you don't feel like being ignored when I don't post here. I am definitely reading ALL of your comments, I just don't have the time to respond to all, hope you understand :)

Here's a WiP for the shop system. Not sure if I'm gonna implement buying corpses in the main game, but right now it's pretty cool to have AoE units and gunners as your starters.

Looks great! Just remember to put limiters or something, or else once people got like 300 lesser goblin, it would instantly activate the firework mechanic when they start.
Or just remove the firework mechanic so I can rule the WORLD AND CONSUME ALL THOSE WHITE MF *Cough* I mean by careful and strategically found a way to minimize the damage to my own army while consuming the enemies.

PS: Keep it up and happy Walpurgis (Which is soon)

PS PS: Showed this to Lisa (A friend of mine) she said that she would like to see customes, or like being able to customize your units with hats. It would add a easy way to add content and well, tbh it would be funny to have an army of knight helmet or pumpkin heads as an event. Btw she loved the game.

PS PS PS: As a fellow programmer, I would recommend instead of making cosmetic (As Lisa suggested) I would instead do skins, sadly since it a unity engine, it would make it incredible hard to mod the "textures" without a somewhat knowledge of unity engine. For example: Two goblins skins = goblin1 (if player select goblin1 = true then spawn goblin1 ) goblin2 (if player select goblin2 = true then spawn goblin2) of course this is not how the code should look like, (Since there is no references or even triggers) but it a example of structure of said code. but then again, this would mean that someone will have to draw a whole new goblin skin for each skin and etc.

But once again, this is like stuff that is so far back in priority that it not even funny. Anyway have a great day!

How do you disengage?
The enemies always clutter to me, even if I try to stay in a corner and consume smnaller troops

ok what happened? I finally managed to assimilate those axe dudes. Went on for minutes, had 230+ zombies, suddenly some "bleeding" or black juice and my guys fell like flies. WTF is even the goal here?

EDIT: yeah nevermind, talk to the girl before you attempt any record zombie hords...

the shooting area of the shooters is too large, they shoot almost across the entire map, yours attract unnecessary attention, instead of shooting at those you fight, they often shoot at passing groups, or you have to constantly run away from enemy shooters. It's a huge problem when gunners with a group you're not fighting start shooting at you anyway, you end up just starting to fight the whole map when you only have 40-50 zombies.

Overview:
You play as the infamous apathetic king of the Undead, one of the "bosses" in an already dead MMORPG where NPCs are now the people living a "normal life".
Everything starts when the Demon King visits you after X years of your capture for the first time, asking for a huge favor in exchange for your freedom: inherit and become one of the seven sins, Lust.

After accepting the said Sin, you also unexpectedly gain back the humanity that was lost long ago ever since you turned into an Undead.
Now is the time for your redemption. Turn yourself around, from a former passionless zombie, into the ultimate Casanova, as the effects of Lust not only affects you but everyone by your surroundings.

IMPORTANT:
Please! I beg you to playtest the demo regardless of the amount of content. I'm a programmer first before anything else, and I want people to experience what I programmed rather than just see the graphics that I made.
The game is only 70mb, and potato pc compatible (optimized it as much as I could, being a fellow potato user).

Today during a testplay with a few others, we found out that the enemy AI is moving towards the middle of the players group. Meaning that if you stand still, they will in the end push your units so far apart there will be a hole in the middle of the group. Making so the enemies just stand there while getting gunned down.

- A quick fix would be to make the player group of units constantly regrouping, making so holes do not appear.
Inserting a picture of one example of this "exploit"

As you see in the picture, the enemies completely ignore the player units and goes straight to the middle point of the whole group. Where the player can farm them.

Credit: Thanks to Alice for finding this out, she is part of my playtest team.

Won't the gunmen aggro the enemies in the center? I managed to get the enemy axemen to push me away and create the hole in the middle but it didn't seem to stop the aggro

Thats not the "problem" the gunmen pretty much aggro anyone within their range. The problem is that the enemies AI makes them "attack" the middle point of the group, aka they will move to the middle and then just stand there. I can try to make a gif to show you.

edit here we go:

As you see, the enemies will go to the middle of your units (Most of my units are outside the map at this point) and then stand there. It was really hard to get a good example, but you see that the "enemies" are just walking past my guys (And sometimes by accident goes into some of them)

Like I said, a quick fix to this "exploit" is to simply make so the player units tries to regroup without needing to press the mouse.

fun game, excited to see where it goes. i just wish the gunners didn't aggro other groups while I'm already fighting. I'm okay with the gunners constantly aggro so they never stops hooting, but I wish they would shoot the group I'm already fighting instead of aggroing 5 more groups and killing me

Don't like the gunners, their range is too far. Getting blasted by shit off screen feels awful and it's not like they're helpful on your side either when they're pulling enemies you don't want them to pull. For a game that gives you very little control, shit like that gets obnoxious really fast. This feels like one of those "Big fish eats little fish while avoiding bigger fish" types of games, which could be cool if the gunners were balanced better. They don't feel good as enemies or allies, they aren't satisfying and/or fair on either. I don't want to stack cheap units that kill shit I can't even see yet. They take away the bit of strategy this game has.

Seems this is a common complaint after reading the thread.

I'd also like more control over what units are revived, and a way to cut loose zombies or something to actually be able to disengage properly from enemies. I'll revive some zombie on the other side of the map out of fucking nowhere that pulls all the humans towards my flock of zombies and my squad gets fucking obliterated because of it. The revive function should be in an aoe around the cursor instead of reviving every fallen enemy on the map. Even better if you can choose specific humans to revive. Maybe you don't want any gunner units and leave them on the ground, or maybe you want to make a team filled with them. That opens up a lot more options/strategy elements than just making a ball of zombies you have next to no control over.

This game could really use some line of sight features. Add buildings and shit that enemies can't see past so you can set up ambushes and hide and shit instead of just frolicking openly through a meadow. That would give the game an excuse for why melee humans might not be attacking zombies 5 feet away from them.

Overall I think the gameplay is a little too simple for this premise to work long term. Some complexity added would do wonders for it. Could be a decent real time strategy game. Right now the lack of control over units, revive mechanics, and the gunners make it more frustrating than fun. You could also go the other way I suppose and make it simpler by removing the gunners or heavily nerfing their range (Even having 2-3 range vs melee's 1 range would keep them distinct) and go back to that "big fish eats little fish" type of game. Being in the middle of those two and not really committing to either doesn't really work imo (At least where the game is now).

Enemies attacking you from areas you can't even reach is never okay (Completely off the map, not just off the player's screen). That shit needs to go lol. Being killed by shit off screen is bad enough, not being able to reach an enemy at all is next level obnoxious/anti fun.

Good job finding this exploit. This really needs some work quick. And really, I appreciate the time investment you and your friend Lisa put on this game (y)

Yeah I got blinded by my own preference, I admit, I just left it like that because that's what I was used to. This will be fixed on the coming updates (y)

I agree. There's definitely a plan on adding stuff to make it more complex and have more variety. It easily gets boring after a while right now.
Ah, but my scope for the project is actually not that big of a scale, if we're talking long term, since I want to complete this or at least the main story in less than a year or so, being I have less and less time to work on it as days go by (maximum of 2 hours everyday these days).
Thanks for the feedback! I took notes! :)

Now I'm worried that people seem to like this horde game part a bit too much, and here I am coding the dating sim mechanic which is gonna be 70-80% of the product.

My only comment/suggestion is to change the color of the player controlled units. As is, it's kinna hard to tell the difference between your units and the enemy units.
