This version was uploaded to F95 against my wishes. It was released to a select few people in advance of the official release and leaked here. The version on my Patreon right now has many of the reported bugs fixed already and there will be a new public release this weekend with even more fixes.
Wow I would have been pissed and stopped releasing pre stuff to that entire group. Clearly someone abused their privilege's.

F95 should really only release alpha and pre-releases with the consent of the developer imo. Because the only reason to release such shitty versions of a game is for bug testing since it's a complete waste of fucking time and the new content can't be played half the time, or at least not enjoyably.

You are indirectly or directly at fault JDS for one thing though that exaserbates the bug issue. And it's having the shittiest hint system known to mankind, a hint system that is so vague I want to kill myself when I play your game even in it's pristine form. I say you are indirectly at fault because maybe RPGM itself is just fucking crap and you're doing the best you can.... But then I remember a game like Hunter 2 exists which has an amazing UI and in game guide to quests. For the love of god, 'Go to lunch' and 'Go to Work' are not really hints... there is no indication at all of what I need to do to get the next enchantment or scene.

That being said, I don't fault the game for having bugs. F95 does label on the main page what version the game is. The problem is this label colour is grey for all games and it doesn't stand out much... and most people see a new release and might not fully be aware it's full of bugs. F95 should literally have a tag similar to VN/RPGM/REN'PY/OTHERS/COMPLETED tags that IS BLARING FUCKING RED and says 'BUGS: ALPHA/PREPRERELEASE'

Instead of that lowkey grey title that doesn't warn people there will most definitely be game-breaking bugs.

Will there be any extra scenes? I may be wrong, but I remember it being said that this release would be much larger than the ones before, with scenes with almost every character, that being the reason for the delays. Instead we got like 4 scenes.

It is only fair what you say if you would then notice an improvement in the public version, instead you are likely to find the newest bugs fixed and instead the old ones that are now over a year old still to be fixed, an example? It's more than a year that they write about getting stuck with the train or in the gym or freezing on the start of an animation. In my opinion they should change the system on the run like S.R. (Special Request) did a year ago who finished with version 7 in RPGM and switched to the Ren'Py sandbox, which had started a version earlier in parallel; Anna E.A. did the same.
You would have the best qualities of the Ren'Py; save when you want, rollbacks, screenshots and you would keep the roleplay being a sandbox and it wouldn't be a VN because you decide what to do.
Hints or journals are well constructed, in the ones I play they almost all have a gallery to unlock: Anna EA, Fashion Business, S.R., Beauty and the Thug, Lisa is even free because it's not made by her dev.

It's a pre-prerelease so it will be bugged, as mentioned above this version was sent to a few people to help bug test the game and someone posted it here against the authors wishes. Probably just have to wait for the official release, think he said at the weekend.

Yeah so there are old bugs from many versions ago. I think it's because jsdeacon doesn't play the game from beginning to end to find them? Or maybe people with the bugs need to send him their save files? It's a bit of a complex game so it can happen that triggering one event early, or failing to trigger an event on time can lead to progression issues or loops or a problem triggering new scenes. This would all be more avoidable if the hint system was a bit better. It would still exist, but likely happen less since people will more often know what to do next.

Ren'Py is great if your original game is Ren'Py, but I find RPGM switches to Ren'Py always feel like they are missing something and are not that good. Look into RPGM games like Aura Knightess and Hunter 1 & 2 and you will see top quality RPGM titles. There are few bugs, and generally progression is easier. Hunter comes with a mini map and indicators on the map of where to find quest objectives...

Fashion Business is actually a bad example IMO. It's an amazing game like Office Wife in terms of content. But the game play is grindy, the cheat system was added in later and isn't obvious to find. There are too many clicks to get places, and putting on clothes is a hassle because you always need to double click to get to the wardrobe. In some places you auto-put on clothes, but in other cases you do not — the dev could have made it so you have the right clothes wherever you go or just make a better wardrobe/inventory system, or a way to 1 click to get to the wardrobe side of the room immediately. It's just a very tedious game play especially when you've already played the game a few times and want to progress faster but don't have a save.

Office Wife is great, improving the hint system would only add to its success, people want the game to do good, so I hope JSD recognizes that and takes the criticism well. But you know, everything comes with a cost, and he knows the whole development situation and I don't. Maybe adding a more robust hint system or even just editing the old one with more specific text would take too much time. It could also maybe just be impossible because the game is designed more like a sandbox? and he's more concerned with pushing out content and will focus on polishing the game when its completed. Which is definitely a decent way to go about it. I just hope it happens eventually that the hint system is improved.

I'm sorry you say you make too many clicks with Fashion Business (which was also an RPGM initially), but how many do you make with T.O.W.? Many more! For every move or change of direction among other more tedious and always the same, in theory you should save every time you change location, because if you make a mistake of going first one way and then the other or vice versa, you miss triggers and they don't show up anymore. There are also RPGM games that are more advanced than T.O.W. Treasure Of Nadia, for example 2 clicks and you are already in another place. However, there is still the problem of saving and going back which is not possible with RPGM.

I went back to 0.8.0 trying to figure out why the game freezes at animations. I can't get past enchantment 9, the sex scene with the husband at home. Game freezes and I have to close it. Any ideas/help?

You can save and go backward in RPGM. It takes additional time though because you need to press X to open the menus, and then click game end, click the option to take you to title instead of exiting the game entirely, AND THEN from title you can load your save by clicking 'Continue'. Some game devs don't include the option to exit to title, so then you need to exit the whole game and re-open it and then load your save. So yes, a lot more involved than Ren'Py where you can just press escape and click load and select the file to load.

I didn't know fashion business was originally an RPGM game, or I forgot :D cool to know.
