The last woman I met with Down syndrome worked as a kitchen hand;
at the age of 25 she was still not fully legally competent - or she had been officially deprived of her legal capacity;

A man with Down Syndrome runs a restaurant in Albuquerque, there are a couple of women with Down Syndrome who own bakeries on the east coast. The list goes on.
