Assuming someone has $205 to spend per month on 3ds max, and they can tell when something is made with a pirated copy of their software, nor are they afraid to throw their lawyers around.
That's nonsense, you are paranoid, no one said you need 3ds max 2076 edition that costs 20.000$, you need an older product, it will do the job, or even use Blender why not it does the same modeling stuff, we are open minded here, and how are they gonna track your pirated products more precisely, i really want to know? What products will they track? Images? LOL!!! You never heard of conversion? I think more than half of those who make porn use pirated software... :LUL:

Paranoid? I've got most of Adobe's cloud on my system via GenP/Monkrus. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about, but I do agree on the Blender part. Most people should be using that as it'll likely be the industry standard for most things in a few years.

They track via software, keys, and torrent trackers (both in the torrent, or purposely uploading an infected torrent of their own and having ISPs peg any users downloading it). Most often, via cracked codes or key generators. They'll see multiple accounts/users using the same ones, and boom. If they deem it necessary and see said users are publishing works via that cracked software, they will come down on you. Financially and legally. If they see you using the tool on social media and decide to check the license(s) only to see it's not there, they will (after contacting you, most likely, just in case.) come down on you. Just ask Amino Games and Crytek. They've made it clear they'll come after you if you're making any sort of profit - and then try to make an example out of you. Doesn't matter if you're an award-winning studio or an indie studio.

Most people who make porn games will likely only be pirating Adobe software, given how easy it is to pirate. Daz? Free. Renpy? Free. Blender (struggles with NFSW stuff, from what I've heard)? Free. Have no knowledge about KK/HS stuff, so can't speak on it. RPGMMV is $16 right now. QSP/Twine? Free. Live2D has a free version. So, again. Beyond Adobe products, what is there to pirate, exactly? Daz assets/plugins, Blender textures/uvs/plugins? That's about all I can come up with.

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but I'm at the end of my tether. Whenever I have any character using the Growing Up Morphs, whenever I load a scene with that character in, it always reverts the height and messes with the chin, like the below.

For this model, a G8F, the temp solution seems to be to save the characater as a scene sub-set, and the to load it into the scene. At which point, it returns to how it's supposed ot be. The annoying thing is, the cycle repeats itself when the scene is reopened. Meaning I have to keep it open and render it start to finish - which isn't really good practice.

Has anyone experienced this issue before or have the slightest inclination as to what I can do to circumnavigate it?

Cheers
- TD

Hey, I have a problem with my character. I'm using the figure and wanted to do some close ups but her skin ends up looking very weird. No idea what's causing this. I imported the complete figure so I guess the textures should be fine?

EDIT:

Fixed it. Went to Face surface and reduced Base Bump from 5 to 1 and Normal Map value from 1 to -10.

Dumb question, and I'm sure 10000 other people have already asked this so I'm sorry in advance (I have tried searching)...

I'm looking at making my first game and doing some research. I see some good female models on the Daz3d shop but obviously they're all SFW. If I were to get a SFW female model off of the Daz3d shop, would I be able to simply "attach" eg: nipples to it? And make the model "naked"?

I see this offering on renderotica is seems like it says I can add nipples, but before I go around spending money I figured I would ask here.

Genesis 8 comes with extra bits you add called "gens" or genitalia obviously. They are found in the anatomy tab under Genesis 8 female in content. There are also many third party gens, such as golden palace etc depending on what you like. Nipples however are a morph which also comes with Genesis 8 and are in the shaping tab. There are also third party nipples if you don't like the stock ones.

Hi guys,
I'm a total noob to DAZ, but I guess this what this forums for..:)
My questions are
1- what exactly is iray, what is it used for, and what happens if I do not use it. Let me put it this was what if I don't get nividia graphics card and use AMD.

2- what do you recommend in terms of hardware for hobbyist who are just looking to play and just create characters for fun and not for content creation.

Thanks

When you have created a scene with an environment, chars, etc, you must make an image (rendering) with it and that is exactly what does iray.
Rendering is a complex and compute intensive process as you have lights that will generate rays; These rays will fall on objects and be reflected to other others objects to create new rays, and so on, and all these reflections must be taken into account for a realistic render. Also some objects like skin partly absorb the light and diffuse it evenly in the space. Others like water are partly transparent but the lightrays are deviated. And so on. That is what makes rendering complex and requires a powerful computation engine. And even with a good GPU a render can take from 10mn to 10 hours, depending on the scene complexity, expected quality, etc.
The best for iray is to use a GPU (nvidia only) but iray can also be used on a CPU, with a significant slow down (say 5x).
There are alternatives to iray. 3Delight is the previous rendering engine of Daz Studio and it is still present in DS. It relies on much simpler methods, the rendering time is much smaller and no GPU is required. But the rendering quality is also quite degraded. Some assets are iray only but DS can convert them before rendering (but not perfectly).
Iray is made by nvidia and only tier GPU are supported. Other 3D programs like blender can also support complex rendering with either nvidia or AMD GPUs.

It really depends on your budget. Hardware for 3D is expensive. IMO the most important is to have a large amount of memory on your computer and on the GPU. Objects surfaces are covered with an image (a "texture"), the images are of high resolution to provide a realistic render and all the textures of all the objects must fit in the CPU and GPU memory. If your GPU memory is not large enough the CPU will be used. If you CPU memory is not large enough DS will crash.
What you must NOT buy is a GPU with a small memory (say <=4Gb). You will not be able to render any scene but the simpler ones, cannot have more than a couple chars, etc.
What you must NOT buy is a GPU with a large memory AND a computer with a small memory. If the CPU memory is not at least 3x as large as the GPU memory, DS will crash for most complex scenes and your GPU will be unused.
After that it is up to you and it depends on your budget.
I would say a decent configuration to use iray would a GPU with 8Gb memory or preferably 12Gb, and a computer with 3 times the GPU memory (say 32Gb). With that you can render a scene with say 3 (maybe 4) chars and a complex environment.

Thanks for the explanation, can you post something like a render or something comparing both iray render and non-iray if possible I think this makes it easier to get the difference between them..
Is this limitations of iray exist on other 3d software?
Thanks

Difficult as it really depends on the scenes. Maybe you can have a look at this paper on renderguide
(and renderguide is a good site with simple tutos to get started with DS).

What limitations? If it is the one that concerns AMD GPU, there are very few 3D programs that directly use iray, but they are all nvidia only. But there are many rendering engines and they may (or not) be used on different brand of GPU. This true for blender with cycles, but many render engines usable bn different 3D programs like vray, octane, have no or a poor support for AMD GPUs. Most other 3D programs have a proprietary render engine, and I do not know exactly.

Hi, anybody has any ideas where i could find some old wooden walking stick, the kind you see in RPG's used by old hermits or wizards, like a mace the sort, just look at this picture. jyktvsqwhff.jpg

Does someone know how to change the color of dicktator/futalicious? I have a blue character and wanted to make her dick match her skin color but I can't figure out how to do that, I even got as far as editing the main texture to blue but it looks super off, also tried changing the translucency weight but it didn't help, not really sure what to do about this

Not at my computer to test it out but usually to edit the color of anything you simply change the color of the diffuse map (the primary texture) from white to something else.

Doesn't it change automatically following the character's skin color to match the genitals?
if nothing works, go with cock-o rama...

Does anyone know a decent source for furry/anthro models? I've searched all over the place, but everything I find is either cartoony or look terrible. There's gotta be a 3d furry community somewhere, right?

And in a related question; does anyone have a fox (as in, a feral fox, the animal, not a humanoid one) that includes genitals? Or at the very least testicles and a sheath, so that I can bolt it on myself.

I've already found the Oso fox skin, and it doesn't work; for some reason, the testicles and sheath have been removed.
I've also found the foxes by AM, but they do not have any visible genitals either (And also the poses I was hoping to use are made for the Daz8 dog, and do not work with the AM Foxes)

(Please no harassment over the subject matter, I know I'm a deviant)

I did try that, I have texture wizard so I tried to load a green character preset to see how they do it, I did the same but it didn't work (I even did go as far as trying to copy the same Red Green Blue numbers of the skin that shows in photoshop but it looks super off), I'm not really that good with the surfaces so that might be why, only thing that I changed was the diffuse color and the translucency weight.

Just a little note, I'm using Altern8 Skin Shader System on my character, not sure if that's getting in the way or not...

Pretty rare to see decent furry models that work with G8, I know some dudes on gumroad that sell their models and most of them only do anime looking models as furry characters are pretty difficult to do, not sure how much difficult it is but I think you would have to know a lot about rigging in daz to fix problems in the face and making expressions for the model and all that stuff, your best bet would probably be to commission someone so that they can port a existing model of SFM or Blender to Daz Studio with the head as a separated mesh and with it's own expression.

Trying to match futalicious with the same color as the figure is a Pain, I know some dudes that where able to match it with blue/orange characters though, might as well ask them as I encountered the same problem as you.
