Ya I've mucked with it every which way including as you suggested and have never got a red light on the phone. The dialogue in both versions, v0.5b and v0.6a are as I described and really detracts from the story. It's more than obvious that the "Roommates" and "Landlady/Authority Figure" are meant to be related. Having them appear as "Wards", etc is just stupid. I'm not sure if the Dev meant it to be that way to poke fun at Patreon for their Incest policy but it doesn't work if that what he was going for. Lines like Lauren telling the M/C she should not be fooling around because they are "Roommates" is just stupid. Other than that if the storyline was a proper incest story it would be an ok game. BTW the screenshot posted by Bozoplace was helpful but I have never been able to get that to work as shown.

Is it possible that you both installed the i-patch yourselves? This alpha test version of the game comes with it already installed, (so no need to do anything except activate it) and if you replaced it with a different version of the i-patch then it will not function at all.
I absolutely hate that I have to use landlady/tenant, roommate, ward etc.... The simple fact is that it's the easiest way to make an ipatch work. The ipatch just looks for these key words and replaces them with the words that were originally intended. Patreon's incest policy is so stupid. Sure, real incest is pushing it, but in a make believe scenario with 3d characters, absolutely rediculous!
No I just DL'd the game as was posted without adding any patches. I originally tried patching the game with the IC patch linked but that crashed the game at start, so I deleted the entire game and re-opened it from the compressed file. That's when I noticed all patches already in the folder. I ran a new start and still have not been able to get the red light on the phone. At that point I decided to see if the v0.5b patch worked with the v0.5b update. I could not notice any difference with that either. I played the first two weeks with the v0.5b version and then just started a new game again with the v0.6a without any manual patching. Still no red light so I have just tried to ignore the weird dialogue and play your game.
That's really weird, the only thing I can think of that might be happening, is there some kind of error in your persistent save data. Deleting this, along with your saves can actually fix a lot of problems. It kind of sucks since you lose your saves, but there have been quite a few saves posted on this thread in the last couple days. First, delete your saves in the "game/saves folder, then to delete the persistent save data, go to your C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\RenPy and then delete the folder "A Family Venture" Then get one of those saves off this thread and stick it in your save folder, and I'll bet that will take care of things.
Maybe I shouldn't have had them as a phone progress event. When I play, I don't focus on them at all, and through the process of doing other things, the girl's libido gets raised, and when it happens, it's usually a surprise because I wasn't even going for it. Or maybe I should put them as the last achievements, and by the time people get around to them, they'll realize they inadvertently completed them already.
