Added a tag, but Grint isn't there.I'm out. I hate Sandbox games. Please add it to that tags.
Sandbox only means Grinding and searching for content.
non-linear and consequences don't work well together. If you can do things in different order then how do the consequences apply? I'm played too many sandbox games (With walkthrough mods) to know that the scenes/characters get really disconnected because they have to be due to the 'non-linear' story.
My suggestion is make a visual novel with choices that have consequences resulting in different options in the future.
You can choose the name already. As for the appeal, I will think about how to organize it. It shouldn't be difficult.no need for patchs and long plans and worries
u could simply give the player the choice to
name MC
name each character
& as extra if you can:
what each character call the other
& more extra
what each character relation to the other
(teacher / landlady / aunt / car engineer) wild ur imagination on this
there are big games of developers who have been on this Xstuff for long time & know how to bypass the restriction legally...
dont get intimidated by what they say or ruled out...
GL...
Thank you for your work!Here... translation and revision of the game in portuguese, any probleme only call me.

On another tracker, someone posted an unofficial port on Android. I downloaded it. It seems to work. However, they inserted an ad link for the tracker. In General, I didn't port it. I can't guarantee its performance. Download as desired.Android pls?
You designed the page similarly to projects with devs who are doing this with a good deal more commitment and expertise than you have, devs who often wish to make this a career in the future and are committed to giving users reasons to help make that dream a reality: regular updates, clear commitments and timeframes, no veiled threats of stopping if they don't get enough money from releasing a demo, etc.I don't quite understand what I did wrong. I designed the page similarly to other projects. With the minimum cost of subscriptions. But you seem to be a more experienced Patreon user. And since others didn't comment on this issue, I changed the page description.
I didn't threaten not to develop the update. It is not true. I posted the game for free access and received an insult, called a scammer. I don't think that's fair.
You should understand that the more subscriptions, the better the game will be. I will be able to buy the necessary things for the game without lowering my family budget.
I plan to make monthly updates in the future. I can't really assess my strength yet. Lack of experience. But I will strive for it. I take my promises seriously. And I need to understand that in the future there will be exact dates when I will understand how much I create and for how long. As practice shows, life is unpredictable. On Patreon, people can unsubscribe if they don't see any activity at any time!
Prompt me. I don't quite understand what Patron means by "Benefits not tracked". I chose the General Support. Is this correct?
Maybe we just didn't understand each other. In any case, thank you for your advice! Every opinion is important. As for updates. For three days of the game in access, I have already completely re-downloaded all the archives here and on Patron twice. So far, these are minor edits and fixes. Improved the quality of English. Added Portuguese. Thank you for this to users. The center of the arrow is now also highlighted. All thoughts should now be italicized. The game should run by default in English. I will make the scene with the wine lighter and again perezal the archives. As for the new content, I already have objects for setting the scene and rendering. So I'm not sitting around doing nothing. Now I think it's better to create a new scene or fix the existing ones at the beginning. You designed the page similarly to projects with devs who are doing this with a good deal more commitment and expertise than you have, devs who often wish to make this a career in the future and are committed to giving users reasons to help make that dream a reality: regular updates, clear commitments and timeframes, no veiled threats of stopping if they don't get enough money from releasing a demo, etc.
But you, by your own admission, are not a dev like that. You are doing this as a hobby that you enjoy, so pricing your game to be similar to that of more professional projects makes no sense. Also making it clear that "the game will die" without donations on your patreon, and multiple times in your responses to me is entirely contradictory to this being a hobby that you enjoy. If you are doing this because you enjoy it, why do you need people to pay you? Like I said, I enjoy computer gaming, I'm not going to stop because I'm not getting paid to do it. If you enjoy making this game, why make it explicit that you won't continue if you don't get paid?
In terms of the threatening to not develop updates, I've quoted your goals, and each of them made it fairly clear that if you don't get enough subscribers then the game isn't worth developing:
"As soon as I reach 50 patrons, I will understand that this project may be interesting to people, it is worth continuing, and I will make a schedule for regular updates."
That is your revised goal, what that says is that:
UNTIL you reach 50 patrons, you will NOT understand that this project may be interesting to people, will NOT understand that it is worth continuing, and that you WON'T be making a schedule for regular updates.
When you say "as soon as" X occurs (in this instance you getting 50 patrons) then the following things will become true, it means that until X occurs, the following things are NOT true. As an exampe: "As soon as I am 18 I can compete in the marathon" also means that: "Until I am 18 I can't compete in the marathon". That is just how language works, I can't imagine that Russian does not have a similar grammatical construction.
I never said that having more funds and more input from players wouldn't improve your game, I never said that you had to be a developer that acted like the more experienced professional devs do. I even gave you explicit ideas on how to alter your patreon and patreons you could model yours on.
The only things I am criticizing are: your pricing scheme being too high and unclear on rewards (ie. nowhere was it said you would be releasing the game free on your patreon page, and it was explicitly said that the $5 tier got game updates which directly contradicts what you are saying here), your goal being an explicit acknowledgement that people paying you may not get anything for it - and definitely do not know what they are paying you for at this point, and your claims in your responses that: you are a hobbyist but won't continue it without being paid, that this is how patreon campaigns all work, and a number of claims about your patreon campaign saying things that it 100% doesn't.
Oh and you didn't acknowledge my point that you aren't asking for one time, but rather for monthly donations. If you had set your campaign up, like many others have, so that you only get paid for each major update rather than monthly I probably wouldn't have commented at all in the first place.
Like I said in my first comment, I hope you continue to grow your abilities and continue your game if it is something you enjoy, I don't wish you ill or failure, but your campaign looked like a scam, one that is similar to many other campaigns that get a few donations and then abandon with no communication a few months down the road. I don't know you personally, you may well not be anything like what your campaign's wording suggested, but all I have to go on is your words and I tell it like I see it.
Having read your current patreon terms, it's definitely an improvement. It still makes it clear that the game will NOT be released for free, but to $1 patrons and above. And now that you are promising updates, and some timings for when they will arrive for different tiers, I sincerely hope you meet your patrons expectations. But given that you have made it clear here (AND NOWHERE ON YOUR PATREON PAGE) that you have no idea when releases will occur and are still charging your patrons monthly that seems unlikely.
Just set it up as a tip jar with no commitments. IE. write for each tier that "this will help me to improve the game and you will have my thanks" without promising stuff. If you make promises, take money, then don't keep the promises, you are a scammer. If someone donates to your patreon and hasn't read this thread then you have lied to that person because they DON'T know that this is a hobby for you and that you have no idea when you will be updating your game.
I understood the words you wrote, if what you wrote wasn't what you meant then that is a communication issue on your part, not an issue of comprehension. But what cannot be misunderstood is that you are still asking for money each month, are listing game updates as rewards (bugfixes are not updates) and haven't written anywhere on your Patreon that this is a hobby for you, that the promised updates will be infrequent, nor that the project will die without funding as you have said here.Maybe we just didn't understand each other. In any case, thank you for your advice! Every opinion is important.
I look forward to releasing Portuguese translations xDVersion 0.2 is released onYou must be registered to see the links.
I'll post it here next month.
I mean, it kinda seems to me like you got an idea in your head about what the dev meant, and then ignored them several times when they said that it wasn't what they meant. Lke, yea a goal of 50 subs so early is a bit naive, but all they really said was that if it (eventually) happens then they'll devote more time to development and put out updates more consistently. It's also not completely unreasonable for a dev to (after a certain amount of time) see that they aren't getting any support and just assume that people aren't interested in the game. If that happens, why would they keep making the game?I understood the words you wrote, if what you wrote wasn't what you meant then that is a communication issue on your part, not an issue of comprehension. I commend you for doing bugfixes and adding user submitted spellchecking to the work you are selling, and hope that you will act with similar speed on the suggestion of setting up your patreon in a way that is more open and honest to patreon users. What you have said on this thread would affect people's choice to donate, not including the plans you have expressed here so you can make more money is, like I have said, scammy behavior.
My worry is that I've helped you rewrite your patreon to be more appealing to people by removing your threats of stopping progress and any hint of an idea that your actual updates will be infrequent and erratic, but that you haven't actually changed your thinking on the matter. If you are still in the same mindset as when you started re: canceling pursuing the hobby if enough people don't pay you to do something you enjoy, then your patreon is now more dishonest, not less. And that would be sad.
Thank you for your message!I mean, it kinda seems to me like you got an idea in your head about what the dev meant, and then ignored them several times when they said that it wasn't what they meant. They even said that updates would still be free, so I assume the "get update" in the higher tiers was mean to be "get update early" as is standard benefit of paid tier and it got messed up in translation.
Light_FeniXXX I'd be careful about making drastic changes to anything based on a single person's opinion. A lot of games have fallen apart by trying to please everyone. If something s really a problem, then a bunch of people will comment about it. On the subject of subscribers though, I'd temper your expectations. Unless you are a known developer, or get extremely lucky with exposure on an above average product, it tends to take 6 months or more to even start to see support, and it's only getting worse with the virus; people's income isn't as reliable, and the market is getting flooded with new developers who suddenly have a bunch of free time. The number of new "first release" games on the site has exploded over the last few months.
Great. Thank youOn another tracker, someone posted an unofficial port on Android. I downloaded it. It seems to work. However, they inserted an ad link for the tracker. In General, I didn't port it. I can't guarantee its performance. Download as desired.
Link on the Android version
The game does have a sandbox. But there is no meaningless grind in the game. And indeed, in the first updates, I created an open world. But in the future, I will fill it with more content. Perhaps most people prefer VN without a sandbox. But I'm a fan of sandbox games myself. But not Grinda. I think if there is a lot of content in the future that you don't need to search for it very much, you might like it.Not bad for a start, but reduce the Sandbox Mode! Searching here look ther is not what players like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Better to maka a VN with no Sandbox...
There is only so far version 0.1 on Android. Ports are made on the Russian-language tracker. I don't make them. I think he'll be there in a couple of days. Perhaps you should wait. To immediately download version 0.2 for Android.Great. Thank you
What link did you use to download that you were having problems? Is anybody else having trouble unzipping the new update?
